The current state of portal and rune is like if they brought back Seraph for Haven but every stage of seraph also summons two 8/8 wards on your board. They are the two classes with alternate win conditions that make the entire game irrelevant but at the same time they sacrifice nothing to reach that point and are the best classes in the game at stalling the game. Meanwhile Ramp dragon has to sacrifice shit every time they want to ramp but they dont even have a reward for ramping.

What Alouette spawns should be completely random and should disappear after one turn.

For those of you facing forest here's a handy equation.

The damage to expect = (N+1) + (N+2) + evo dmg + bonus dmg (like cairn)

N is their maxPP - cost of roaches played + unplayed 0pp cards you know of
# of roaches played should be generally assumed as two so subtract 6pp (5pp if they've shown carbuncle earlier [remember that carbuncle costs them a superevo!])
As for warding, aim for at least 6HP or better yet three 2HP wards at once to mitigate bayle impact. (this is partly why sword is strong against forest)

See that's not hard at all despite what forest players want you to think.

I don't have any issues beating any class with Forest, though aggro Dragon can be scary because Forest has zero good wards and low healing. Reality is sometimes you just brick because you need to draw good early game to survive while also drawing card draw to not burn out while also drawing all of your combo finishers. They deck is just not consistent enough to get big winstreaks like other decks.

If someone tells you forest is unfavored versus sword, then they are just bad at playing forest.

It depends entirely on the current card set. Forest is almost always a designated combo class, but In SV1 forest occasionally had greats answers to aggro.

I remember these two in particular were great anti-aggro cards in their rotation. The "unkilling" cards from the upcoming omen set might give forest the -attack effects which is great for bricking your opponents boards with 0 attack followers.

Play tempo. Make appropriate artifacts depending on whether you're losing or winning on board.
If your opponent starts crafting a million alphas, he's basically bricking himself (but also forcing the game to go really long like a faggot), so just play defensively, and chip away at his hp and alphas and look for gundam lethal.
Know how to cheat out artifacts effectively. Ward artifact is generally useless, but cheating out the Rush artifact with things like resurgence is extremely powerful removal. You can also just play it out from hand if you're drawing a lot of artifact generation.

I wouldn't really say last resort. It's a tool that you can consider using in any situation, but you have to be aware of how you plan on winning. It just so happens that in portal mirrors, you end up relying on the gundam if the opponent is remotely decent at the game and has a good draw, and the gundam needs a lot of artifacts.

I love Reno and it was a staple of my early builds with haven but I haven't used her in quite a while.

2 clears + 4 damage to face is great, but it takes a SEV and I feel like by that time I would rather be using SEV on the big bird for game, or Lapis, or even Jeanne for extra survivability against something like Kuon.
And then I never want to play reno as normal evo, and even with SEV you clear 2 targets and get 4 damage, but you still have plenty of other cards for board wipe such as chalice, and survivability I feel is pretty nice for Jeanne plays, and anyone in Haven can survive a chalice usage with sevo, and if you use that on Reno then she can't 4 damage, or you have a suboptimal chalice just so you can push 4 damage.

I might try seeing if I can slot her in somewhere, but I feel like Ronavero has greater synergy with the rest of the deck, forced them to use their strong removal cards on him, etc.
