So, just saying... you can create a fresh account, less than 2 days of playing you can get it to lvl 15 and have 30-40 champions with the current Blue Essence champ costs and gains. Along the way, through the battle passes you get at least 5 random icons, some emotes, and a few skin shards which you wont have enough Orange Essence for until you hit the 7th day where they give you a waterloo MF shard + 500 orange essence as a reward.

What the balance team did to Garen they should do to every other bruiser like Lee or Xin who just kill you before you can even blink and are still super mobile and super durable as well.
Why has it just been accepted that bruisers can pretty much do anything better than anyone for so long? That *is* their core defining trait - being the empty space between tanks and assassins - not being as good as either of them at their strengths (tanks' durability/armor/MR or assassins' potential damage output) but the way it's been ever since maybe even the Divine Sunderer days is that bruisers just do both of those things better than the classes that are supposed to be the best at it.
J4 should not be able to one-shot with R. Lee Sin should not be able to one-shot with R. Xin should not be able to get on top with you and kill you before the knock up cycle even ends. Jax should not be able to one shot you before his E stun cycle even ends. etcetra. I wish the game just got more changes. It feels stagnant lately.
There's also the stuff with Mundo/Heartsteel one-shots now too but that's a whole other thing dating back to Unending Despair being made a joke item because they just refused to nerf Jayce and Mundo directly instead of the item and now wow, what a surprise, Mundo's broken again and the item remains useless. Whatever.

for me playing the game toplane and knowing noone will come up there to help you most of the time puts me in a position to consider builds, trading, spell cooldowns, cs, levels, etc
i also play stuff like shen top because he has a very simple kit you can cycle and keep trying to get those fundamentals right, you also become more globally aware because of your ult, if you mess up his trades you can easily see why you failed and potential changes in certain decisions that could've ended better
i also mute all ingame audio like voices, music, etc and only enable pings and sfx to filter out nonsense, maybe removing eyecandy also helps in the ingame settings to better the visuals a bit
once i play enough toplane games the other lanes seem easier because you're typically not playing mele champs that get punished if you mismanage something as simple as your spell since mid/adc/supports can typically spam their kit, also being counterpicked is less damaging in other lanes compared to toplane it feels like

That being said old asol had a very unique, and probably was left to balancing hell. I think if the stars worked like wisp from dotas W asol would have been more played (I would have played him personally), and the rest of the kit was less centered around the orbiting stars (so the stun was a decent range without having to extend your orbs).
The problem with reworks is they want to kill the champion effectively because they want the character design/theme but think the kit is too problematic (or would rather not address the characters issues at all). Aatrox was a good example of this, but they kept almost nothing about his original kit leaving the old fans homeless (which riot doesn't care)
