I am being one hundred percent sincere when I saw Gemma's stupid fashion show is the stuff they should have leaned into for Wild's base version story. Not the entire time, but it's the exact kind of tutorial mission the game needed if it was going to focus on characters or whatever and appeal to casuals.

Lagi is cool and all but why did they make him entirely shitzones even with partbreaker I can barely get the tail off before he dies.

I just spent a few hours doing daily bounties by roaming around the various maps with no minimap, waypoints, or fast travel.

It was actually fun and calming.

It's frustrating when you can see the vision for Wilds, but there's literally nothing in the game that incentivizes players to play this way. I would have finished everything much faster if I just did specific quests for tempered constructs or if i just fast traveled around for the various fish and endemic life.

It was pretty nice just hunting and fishing my way back through the areas, starting with Wyveria and all the way back to the Plains, stopping at some campsites along the way.

The issues are obviously numerous. the start is using re engine in the worst way for it. they have the large open simulated world meme where everything is constantly going. the real time dynamic weather conditions, the monster corpses decaying and growing mushrooms, the massive amount of ecology, camp dies when you aren't there, turf wars off screen, etc. We already know the RE engine struggles with large amounts of shit, so that's one part of it. Azure Bolt is pretty bad, mainly because it has a 30 second CD that doesn’t start until after the effect ends. So really you will only get it once a minute.

Game was way too easy going through the story with tempered HR monsters dying in about 5 minutes tops, but the new monsters' tempered versions now 2 shot you and seem to have triple the HP despite just being normal HR monsters and not elders. I feel like everything else before TUs should have had twice the HP and damage while new TUs should do a little less damage. Or maybe it's just because new monsters are always 8* and old ones no?
