Finally managed to get one with the new nerfed scopes, God I fucking hate them. Also, of course his 800 hour boyfriend immediately knew where the shot came from and sniped me all the way from RUAF with a fucking Vudu 30 seconds later. uhhh so what fewer bitcoins? I mean sure that makes it more "hardcore" but the lack of flea means you really don't have a big infinite money source anyway. sure some sweaties will rush to lvl4 traders but even then a lot of the best things are on purchase limits so money is not actually the issue.

Removing flea fixes like 80% of the progression issues with the game, all these extra points aren't detrimental but they're kinda pointless. The last 20% of the fuckery is Ref, I agree with others that he'll likely get nerfed. But in all honesty I'd rather that he didn't sell combat gear and instead sold flashy drip and temporary weapon paint. Like funny/cool looking variants of existing gear from traders. Also weapon paints that are bound to the weapon so people can take them from you.

Could go either way on this. I watched Pestily talk about it earlier, and it sounds like it will mostly affect weapon mods and ammo.
I feel like this will make more armors and ballistic plates valuable. It's always the best option to have level 6 plates, and that will be the same in the hardcore wipe, but even level 3 and 4 will have some viability now since there will be less high pen ammo going around. If this turns out to affect more than mods and ammo, that will be annoying.
Overall, I'm looking forward to next wipe.

For me, I think they should increase the raid time a bit, then make it so pscavs spawn later in the raid. At that point, pmcs should have most of their loot collecting or quest stuff done, and sticking around long enough is asking to pick a fight with pscavs.

The only thing I'm concerned about now is transit. Not because of the idea of it which I honestly welcome but because of how broken it currently is.
You're fucked if your game crashes during a transit, you're fucked if you're running on slightly lower specs and memory leaks are a big deal, you're fucked if you're unable to play Streets but are forced to cross through it, and you're also fucked if you're playing in a squad because I'm pretty sure they've yet to fix that one bug that sometimes causes people to be put into different servers while transiting. People who had to do marathon with friends should know how sloggy it currently is. If they don't fix the technical side of it then shit will suck in the not so fun way.

I'm calling it now, but they're stress-testing 'forced' transits for launch; Customs and Woods will very likely be open for anyone and everyone with no transit considering they have bunkers inside of them (Hideout are ZB Tunnels, remember), and they're both early game maps.

Not only that, but Customs connects to *tons* of maps, from top of my head it connects to Woods, Shoreline and Reserve alone.

All the early game (well, after the few Ground Zero tasks) shit is on Customs. I think it's a MUCH harder map to learn and play now than it was before the most recent expansion, and the one before that.
On any map, the most important thing of all is learning spawn points and potential map flow. It'll never ACTUALLY be the same twice, where everyone goes, but there are points you want to be extremely careful around.

If you asked me before the BTR storyline and woods rework, i'd say Woods; but as it stands, woods isn't the new-player friendly map it used to be when I used to tell people to learn it

Ever since the train-depot and the BTR quests, it has been alot more active, as in theres more people queuing up and not many dead raids (as in, if you're a new player and draw attention to yourself, *YOU WILL GET SNIPED*)

Right now, if someone is just learning the game they should just stick to ground zero and start slowly preparing to learn the other maps once the level cap (20) kicks in.

Ground Zero is very comfy map to run for beginners (to loot run for hideout items, get loot once they broke their bank), I say this as I sherpa'd some friends and randoms i've met on discord

Do be warned for any new-fags, if you get ground-zero fever and don't adapt by level 20, you will feel the difference when actually running maps without the level lock

I really question the hardcore wipe. There's absolutely 0 chance a duo with less than 150 hours between them and a random with a loud aug and a kolpak and 250 hours is going to play it. With the hardcore wipe coming up and no flea for (hopefully) a long period of time, I wonder if we'll see more use of iron sights. Red dots will be less available and an added expense, if you can learn to use irons well you'll be saving some mad dosh. What are some good irons you can buy from lvl1-2 traders? AK irons are indeed pretty slick. Shame that the default sight on the AK12 is dogshit, but you can actually use an RPK rearsight adapter to put an AK74 rear sight on it. It ends up looking pretty damn good and the parts are ~2k rubles. I like when the rear sight isn't too obstructive and lets you see a bit underneath the front sight. for shoreline it's scav base > resort > pier, again flipped based on where i spawn

If you want to be REALLY dastardly you can follow the strat I've done a couple times for a great transit loot/gear run

.338 AP is pretty fun. It's nice not having to worry about the enemy taking the bullet with his plate, but man, using it really reminded me how fucked the zeroing system is. He was 410m away, if I had my scope zeroed for 400m I'd have had 1.2 mils of drop, I had to zero for 450m to hit dead center. The ~50m/s gap between FMJ and AP really makes a huge difference, it's definitely not as noticeable on .308 snipers.

From what I can figure out that was a bit of 'Nikita having issue speaking English' moment and the reason they probably wouldn't add the Groza is because it was rare enough that he couldn't get his hands on it to scan.
They've had the RSASS in since 2018, I think they never really gave a shit about scarcity as long as rule of cool applied. That being said this is too far imo, 1/1 guns should not ever be getting added to this game, especially pre-release.
Not to mention it frustrates me how in like two years we've gotten maybe 2-3 'staple' guns max that are reasonably placed in progression and can be used for the same tasks we've been doing for a decade, and the rest is either so rare that they might as well not be in the game (M10, PKM/P) or are just unusable (Desert Eagle). For Christ's sakes this wipe we got ONE gun that people run and it's just a SCAR-H receiver that can take SR-25 mags so it's just for metafags using drums. Why is it so hard to get M16s? The G3? Yeah I've never progressed so far in the quests that I start hitting those super tedious ones, I got all the way to capturing outposts this time and was sprinting to fortress for a week or so before all these end of wipe events started hitting so I just wanted to go raid elsewhere and have fun. I love tarkov but I don't have the same kind of patience as you where I can just keep spamming raids for a quest. I think it comes down to copying without understanding WHY something is the way it is. Makes me think of PUBG -> Ring of Elysium and how that ended up flopping despite in some ways being much more competent than PUBG was at the time. Or outside of games, artists whose gimmick is 'what if an old band was actually a couple of generations younger' eg. Led Zeppelin -> Greta Van Fleet.
