Man, reading through the Amphoreus' Saga of Heroes really makes me appreciate how short and snappy our Vessel memories for the FC's were. They conveyed much more info and personality in a fraction of the time, also helped that they fleshed out the FC's relationships with each other. The Eden and Mobius brushing eachothers hair is way better than anything I've read in this dumb book.

I find it funny that people still argue about the story in these games. Yes, theres a lot of story and some arcs are obviously better than others, but overall the writing is pretty much shit. China still probably has about a decade of literary evolution to go through before they figure out how to properly narrate a story.

You can literally look at any Chinese media (music, movies, literature, art, etc.) from 30 years ago and it's extremely unappealing and embarrassing. They figured out how to copy a lot of western media recently so their games are popular but the writing is still not there.
Is this game worth starting right now? The story sounds like something I would like, but I've missed like 10 years of events (half of that already bricks your genshin experience) and all I hear in other generals is how shit part 2 is.

There were only like three canon events, but mostly about side characters. You could easily watch them on youtube. Compared to Genshin, HI3 mostly had non-canon AU events or just some purely gameplay based.
Hop on, enjoy the story and roll for who you like.
Just be prepared that some beginning battlesuits are boring or clunky and there's a lot of menus and currencies to get used to, but if you only care about story then it shouldn't bother you.

What would you say was the ratio of money/effort put into Star Rail compared to the profit that they made?
Even if you are somewhat satisfied with the current state of the game, which is still insane considering they make tens of millions on this dogshit game, its only gonna get worse because HSR is not getting any younger, and also most gachas are falling off. Will you still stick with HSR after they reduce the rewards, most events just become recycled (like now) and patches get less frequent.

Early HI3 was still getting its shit together rather than after they got their shit together. This game was a very early 3D mobile game which spent time trying to show off 3D abilities currently standard. So early that production was done on an emulator because they gambled phones/tablets could handle it by the time development finishes.
