EQ Emu is a different breed where it is fairly unheard of for cash shops to exist. Recently Daybreak stepped in and shut down an emulated server. Players believe this is because they had a cash shop. Keep in mind that there's over a dozen EQ emulated servers around that they will never touch and those servers don't have cash shops.
The EQ Emu scene is just better organized and the community works together. Like imagine opening WoW and a huge list of private servers came up when you logged in. That's how EQ Emu works. They also all share code. Servers in general aren't cash grabs and there's genuine passion behind them. The players are also all pretty chill and mature (most are in their 30s or 40s and up), and you don't have any soulless Chinese playing trying to farm plat to sell it. Say what you will about Everquest as a game, but it has hands down the best emu community.

Because WoW pservers are motivated by money. There's too much easy cash to be made off them, so server owners get greedy.
It's also unheard of for an individual server to be DDOS'd. If a DDOS ever happens it's usually to the launcher itself which affects the entire community, and that shit gets taken care of swiftly. I've seen it only happen once but I've been told it happened before.

It's kind of hard to say, some guilds have really bad 'advertisement' run by some reddit clique but the meat and potatoes of the guild is still pretty good. Sometimes they seem reasonable at first but the actual membership are just crabs in a bucket.
Honestly the best guild to join is one where you get invited because you've befriended some people and they thought you were a good fit, that might be rare nowadays though.

You could join FMC and just use the Turtle pisscord to find a reliable pug guild, a lot of people do that sort of thing. FMC at the very least is pretty soft on demanding performance from newer players. Stay away from <Pond>.

Kind of used to them being pretty strong in Turtle so I am not overly fussed, I care less about class balance these days given I barely touch PvP.
The sets do look a little strong but maybe that's intentional for the 'harder' encounters? Though the raids being untested makes me worry a little bit about that.
Perhaps dungeon sets have moved from being pre-raid gear that only a few classes get to 'The best dungeon gear for people who can't raid' too, I dunno though I haven't really kept up on Epoch.

The difference is with Project Epoch you have multiple different anons expressing interest publicly and privately in playing on the server. It's not just three anons.
You should at least give anons a chance to get something going on a new server though. What's the harm? If the server and guild flops then you just remove it from the OP and move on.

The problem with MB3 was that anons didn't want to play on MB3. After MB2 came to its natural conclusion, anons were down with MoP servers. You had three anons who were excited for MB3, and one of them was schizo.
Even without the knowledge that I have from talking with other anons and knowing that they're planning to play on Epoch and organizing a guild for there, I can look at this thread and see that there's geniune discussion going on about Epoch. Multiple anons are currently discussing how they plan to handle T0.5 over there. That's more discussion about the server than MB3 was ever discussed. People made jokes and memes about the guild but the actual server itself never really got talked about. My point is, there's visible interest in Project Epoch. Anons are going to play on that server and they will put together a guild from the looks of it. May as well advertise it in the OP.

There are tents other places but sw has a tent almost 24/7 and sometimes you get fed world buffs.
Just set HS to sw and quest in the area, then when you can go stv and learn to make your own

it's a really well-made raid. The encounters are challenging, you can tell a lot of love went into crafting it.
But here's the thing: Turtle WoW just ain't equipped to handle content this difficult. not because the raid itself is bad, it's because the foundation of Turtle WoW is shit.

40-man raids are a logistical nightmare. Trying to wrangle 40 people and keep everyone at a decent skill level is a joke. It was manageable when the content was easier, but now, if even a few people are slacking, it's a guaranteed wipefest. And for "midcore" guilds like mine? Forget about it.
>consumable system
The consumable system is straight-up garbage. It's basically unchanged from vanilla, which means you're spending all your time and gold farming for flasks, food, pots, and whatever else. And with the buff cap, you're constantly juggling buffs. It's just exhausting and makes wiping even more frustrating.
>The loot
The loot is a goddamn joke. This raid is one of the hardest in the game, but it's also one of the least rewarding. I get the concerns about power creep from Naxx gear, but the loot distribution is just stingy as hell. We're talking 1.5 tier tokens per boss for 40 people! That's the slowest loot progression ever. And don't even get me started on the Ephemeral Pendant. That thing is the worst chase item in the history of the game. The drop rate is so low, it would take an average guild 1.5 years to get one for everyone!

So yeah, Karazhan 40 is good, but the underlying issues with Turtle WoW make it a frustrating experience. The devs need to fix this stuff before they even think about releasing harder content like Grimbatol.
