It really depends on what difficulty you want to do, but either way if you can make it past the overly tutorialization of the first kingdom, you will have a fun time. metaphor has an over reliance on death to fuel the story. Oldsona has this problem too at times, mostly in P2 where side characters are killed off. Even then IS's Maya's death is extremely impactful. Nanjo's butler is small too. Yukino's mental death and Maki's mother's deaths are both optional, which makes them very impactful. (You) the player have to fuck up for them to die. Nobody is attached to Nanjo's butler outside of Nanjo, it's his personal motivation but not the players, and it works well enough to showcase the demon threat is real without needing to showcase anything more, the threat is consistent, the reveals later on makes Kandori/Pandora real threats.
Nusona leaves death as bad ending content aka Nanako's death, or as impact to change the tone of the story and to fuel the cast. Shinji's/Makoto's deaths are made to impact the story. Okumera's father also fits this as it's the final twist in the wound the PTs are doing shit wrong.
This is compared to Metaphor where every party member is impacted by death to some degree by Louis where it becomes comical that he alone is behind every motivation. He also isn't as threatening in each scene, making him wishwash from a natural born killer to almost a friend, but in a bad way where it doesn't benefit him much to allow the party to live when they are so weak they aren't protected by the spell.
TL:DR: Death in persona is limited to preserve it's value of life. Metaphor doesn't removing the impact and value of death.
