I can't help but use her more as a wincon, though over time I have added a Satan specifically for Haven matchups as well a small wincon for puppet since if you can't get lucky with them low rolling for chip damage your only hope is to be defensive and exhaust all your resources to survive. I just dislike the more controlly version because it feels weaker into every other matchup, harder to beat Rune and Sword. Least for me. Finishing them off before the D-Climbs and Alberts come out feels more consistent than out-valuing, since you honestly don't outvalue them.

This game's dailies take too long so I'm dropping it. The gameplay is really volatile. You can go from being Sapphire one day to Topaz the next if you get a bad loss streak. And a single game can take 15+ minutes if you run into a heaven player or a portal player or a rune player or midrange sword or just someone slow playing.

I really enjoy this game despite its flaws, to the point that I spent $60 on it and I almost never spend money on f2p games, but it's too much of a chore to actually play it.

Yesterday I sat down "to do dailies" and lost the entire fucking afternoon just on this game. If they improve things in the future I'll check it out but for now I'm out. btw it was fun falseflagging as a runefag ITT and making every other deck hate runeshitters kek

Midrange is definitely a vague enough thing that it can encompass multiple decks. I also have to admit that the "control" midrange deck is practically a midrange shell that's just missing a true wincon to properly take the mantle of being control.

It's mtg, but pic related is what I think of as being the quintessential midrange. Aggressively costed body, provides value before the opponent can interact with it, and it's hard to efficiently trade against it. It doesn't win the game outright, but it threatens a big black eye if you don't answer it, but even answering it with 1for1 removal is going to feel like shit since the opponent still has value.

Rune is a terrible match up for the control midrange version of the deck. Sword all comes down to if you can throw down some early wards, kill some dudes with Apollo, and get ceres online early. If you can avoid instantly losing, then in the long run victory is nearly assured.

I haven't tried the more aggro oriented versions of abyss midrange yet. It's the same reasoning as Rune. It's not that it's STRONGER, it's that it's more infuriating to play against due to their bullshit. Pure artifact is strong but you can at least play around it to some degree by knowing their damage ranges. Orchis can just negate your entire board with 0 cost tokens and push for lethal in the same turn and it only requires 1 card setup (Noah) instead of spending the whole game building your combo.
