Bot heads are relatively small targets and they also have other weakpoints to exploit, like the stomach, crotch and legs on devs, the backpack or weapon arm on heavy devs, the tracks on tanks, the limbs on hulks and so on. There's plenty to fighting them besides just going center mass. Even sniping heads is satisfying and fun.

The fleshmobs don't really have weakpoints. Shooting the legs or faces does nothing. You can shoot of the arms to render them harmless, but that's it really. Fleshmobs would be more intersting to fight if blowing off one leg slowed them down, and destroying the second one makes them fall over and flail around like a turtle on its back while quickly bleeding out.
Or just popping enough faces for an insta kill, so many that you have to shoot both sides. Now there's a point to dodging the charge and getting behind them. You pop all the heads on the front, get behind it, pop some more and it drops dead. That would be some real fucking gameplay.

I don't even think shooting them is rewarding in a mechanic standpoint. I usually just shoot them when it's slow and I have time to reload. Killing them doesn't actually do anything useful, it's better to just kite and cc them.

I really don't get the hype for this. Yes... helldivers launching on xbox is a big deal. But not for us who play. They structured the announcements like it'd be a live stream with content announcements for those of us who play. Instead we get a 2 minute pre recorded video.
