There are variations from game to game.
ToF has a currency-based hard pity store that essentially guarantees a copy every 110 or fewer pulls
It has a separate non-resetting 80 pity timer as well that follows a 50/50 rule of you can't win or lose 3x in a row
There's no soft pity there but the 2 separate pity systems overlapping is obviously more generous than average by a lot

I have no clue where you got this from but it's wrong. They use the same 50/50 system as P5X's normal banner. P5X is still better for weapons because you choose all options that you can get and the cost is vastly reduced.
The issue with Global/SEA/JP is that the text confirming soft pity's existence (a small note on rates with and without guarantees) was silently removed when compared to the CN/KR/JP versions which means it's just not in the game.

I think he thinks Genshin's pity works like that but it doesn't.
Genshin also does the "If you lose 50/50, next is 100%"
But they ALSO added an additional layer of "If you lost the 50/50 and had to go to the 2 pulls for 1 copy" 2 times in a row (so 4 total pulls for 2 copies), then their 3rd 50/50 becomes a 75/25 and if you fail that AGAIN (6 pulls for 3 copies), then it becomes a 100% on the 7th pull

So consecutively losing their 50/50s when they're 50/50s has a small escalating extra pity layer.

I don't trust anyone's opinion on this game's gacha system. I've seen some people say the game is even stingier than Genshin(which in itself is basically the literal bottom of the barrel for this type of gacha) and you're basically fucked if you want any number of characters frequently and then I've seen other people say the game is so generous that you're basically guaranteed to get everyone if you don't roll weapons. You can't even make up your mind on how this game functions.

Statistically, slightly.
Since Genshin Soft Pity usually kicks in pre-80, and Capturing Radiance (that 75/25 into 100 deal that caused idiotic melties) doesn't exist.
But slightly remains slightly, and for all intents and purposes it's basically the same.
As we max out 4-stars AND if their dupes "refund" 1 pull, then the Hard Pity of this game becomes 73ish, which is a little lower than Genshin's average.

tl;dr - All this shit is so similar in function that is should be treated as the same.

You have no overlapping weaknesses, Leanan Sidhe's trait makes her fixed skill better than Mapsio (which you can't even use until 40), and none of your Highlights are useless shit like healing or buffs.

You could also swap Leanan Sidhe out for something like Uzume or Lamia if you want a single target nuker, and then buy Matador seals to teach Mapsi.
Anzu and Phoenix, however, are required for full coverage since you can't teach Magarula or Mafreila to anything else until 40.

This mechanic having chance is the same as the seals, it's just something they throw in so you have to burn time gated resources in order to get what you want. You want a certain synergy to appear, but they didn't that day, so you have to spend activity points to advance time and roll a new set of activities. You didn't get the skill from the seal you wanted, so you have to spend resources to get more seals to try inheriting the thing you actually want. It's literally designed to waste your time and maintain retention, if you interrogated the developers they'd tell you outright it's mechanically only there to make people have to play for longer to do the things they want to do. What's the point of defending gacha mechanics.

RNG in gacha live service is fundamentally different than RNG in single player games, there are no save files and you have limited resources so random chance can screw you out of actual irl days. There are already anons in these threads complaining about how it took several days to get the skills they wanted inherited on a persona. Also yeah fusion accidents suck ass anyway.

Agree to disagree. I think this system is really bad. At the bare minimum, you should have the option to scrap a persona you have for a seal so that picking up one for free doesn't lock you into that persona forever and the only option you have to adjust its skill set is throwing seals at it (again, refer to anons lamenting the Hell Biker situation). I'd take it further and say you should be able to pick what skills are inherited, which is how the actual games work, but that would run up against the usual "waste the player's irl time as much as possible to maintain retention" philosophy.

But 1) burning a day costs nothing in the original game, it costs actual real life time in this one and 2) everyone hates when you get to the point in Persona games when you just have nothing to do in a day and go straight home. That was another consideration. But Belphegor has better base stats than Thoth, better resistances than Thoth which are more synergistic with the 2 fiends, inherits all of Thoth's skills via fusion so can also swap Makouga to the almighty attack when needed, and requires one fewer Sealed skill; Mafreila + Makouga vs Magarula + Mabufula + Makouga.
The biggest downside is only having single target Fire, but for fights where you know you need Maragion you can swap it in on Hell Biker beforehand.

Yes but A1 is a much bigger leap in power, and past A2 additional dupes don't really matter until A6 so any time you pull Ann from a standard you're just going to be disappointed. Wonder gets a big boost at 30, as you can use 3 personas, then another at 35 as it allows him to increase his stats with schema points
He then gets a small power boost being able to use better personas at 40 and will continually get a bit stronger every time you unlock more personas by getting more schema points.

My Wonder has the highest stats of all my characters currently, though I haven't wasted resources pumping anything over level 5 into any of the cards since I'll need to replace them soon anyway

Make sure you're forging the weapon you got from the first palace, you can get more shards by doing velvet trials. It juices his damage a lot. Also make sure you're spending your schema to increase his stats, respeccing only costs 10k konpaku so don't feel like you're committing. Other than that just make sure your personas are good.

If you really want her you should just get her because relying on getting her from lost coinflips or standard banner is risky, look at how many people didn't get Bronya until the 300 selector in HSR
