first issue might be related to the second one but not necessarily: sometimes it just does that, especially to games with lots of updates and lots of dlcs. As for the games not showing up that's kind of a bad sign, feels like your sd card is dying or faulty. You can check it with a program called h2test, but it involves formatting the sd card so backup its contents on your pc first and then let it do that

My switch SD already has the most current versions of atmos and hekate. I'd update my fw but my emunand doesn't even launch.

I set up, or rather gave my old hacked Wii to my niece and nephew but after being gone for a bit, Gamecube games have totally stopped working. Wii games still boot, but opening any GCN game through USBLoaderGX simply makes the screen go black before the rebooting. Opening Nintendont via USBLoaderGX has the same thing happen when it checks storage. Opening it via Homebrew Launcher causes it to immediately select HDD, and then it uncontrollable cycles through all of the games, no input works as it just randomly scrolls and I'm forced to restart.

Has anyone ever had any of these issues? I'm a bit at a loss for whats wrong. my googlefu isn't cutting it and I'm gonna keep searching/testing, but it doesn't seem to be USB placement or HDD issue, just posting this in hopes that anyone else whose had these issues maybe knows a solution, I'm really scratching my head here. 3) How dangerous is it to use themes? Last time I suffered a "semi-bick" and my NS went black screen before the logo, I had to reinstall emmuNAND again. I suspect it was from using a theme.

No. IIRC there's some sort of encryption thing so the contents can only be used by the original 3DS. If you put the SD in a different one, it'll create a different profile (aka game folder) or something along those lines.

i tried to install android (Lineage Android 15, latest version split the sd into 2 halves, one for switch other for android). and it worked, no real errors, but the performance is HORRID! i dont expect for all the games to run, but i know that if a simple wiiware game as castlevania rebirth shouldnt be running that fucking slow on a switch.

is there a guide that explains how to clean up the microsd to leave just the switch partition? or if theres a better android distro compatible with dynamic (android 13+) to replace the one i put?

The complicated way, since I'm not familiar with an automated tool for this, is to edit your SD card partitions manually to remove Android, and update your Switch boot settings accordingly.

For the switch 2, isn't there something you need to do to activate the SD card slot? Like you need to put in a certain type of card, and it'll prompt you to download something, having to do with proprietary driver nonsense? I remember reading about it, but I can't find any detailed information about it anywhere.

You can use regular SD cards only to transfer media from your Switch 1, the Switch 2 will not use them otherwise. For games, you must use the new SD Express cards.
In either case, FAT32 SD cards work without an update. But if you use an exFAT card, the Switch will prompt you for an update before it can read it. Stronger CPU, more RAM, L2 Cache (these three can help a lot of games run better, when you use CFW to activate them all the time), the NFC module is in the console itself (o3DS needs a separate NFC accessory), the C-nipple (right "joypad") that helps in some games (if you want, you can remove the rubber and replace it with a PSP stick for a better experience), ZR and ZL buttons, the headtracking for improved 3D effect and the larger size and screens.
Keep in mind:

The reason we had this with SW1 was the underlying CPU exploit. Later SW1 revisions put up roadblocks that stopped the normies. SW2 changed up the CPU entirely, so we likely won't see this type of mod anytime soon, if ever. It's also true what others have said about there not being many competent hackers left in the scene. Most of the good ones have finished school and moved on to paying jobs. Some are even on the payroll of the big game companies. Those guys are done releasing free hacks. Plus, when you see the level of indoctrination for the current (Fortnite) generation, like how they accept not owning their games, it's easy to see why they wouldn't even care about preserving games, even if they had 1337 hacker skills.

If I reboot my switch 2, will the update nag go away? Or will it aupdate on its own? I also don't know how but the mario kart world update nag is gone. I previously had to press Start Software twice (one for the fw nag and another for the MKW update nag) but now it's only one time for the fw one. If you plan to use only ninty consoles there's CaVe Databae Manager to add your own games to the NSO apps, no homebrew emu required. These do need an account btw, use Linkalho for that.

How the FUCK do I install gog games or no steam games on steam deck. I tried installing the stalker gog version for like 2 hours. I would get it installed. Then add non steam game pointing to xr_3da exe and it steam would act like it was going to run but then just stop.
Same with Freelancer. Mounted the iso, installed the game, added non steam game pointing to game exe and fucking nothing.

Had a similar thing a couple weeks ago, my SD card decided to randomly change to RAW, so it stopped working on the 3DS.
Ended up recovering what I could with a recovery program, but since I was getting some errors when I tried to boot up the console due to corrupted files, I nuked everything except the Nintendo folder, then re-added Luma and other homebrew stuff manually. Some games might still be corrupt, but I'll just reinstall them individually if they give issues.
I guess it was one way to finally clean up my SD card from the a9lh stuff from way back when (even still had the "hans" folder kek)

Dumb question but I don't know where else to ask.
Has anyone used the eXtremeRate LEDs for switch before? I used them in my joycons for 5 or so years and the LEDs on the left joycon just shit themselves a couple days ago and won't turn on. I'm not sure if the LEDs just crapped out or maybe it's a small fix I can do. I doubt anyone here will be able to tell me how to trouble shoot it but I thought I'd take a shot and see before I decide to just buy a new one.
And before anyone asks why I'd get LEDs, I play my switch in the dark most of the time and I like having the buttons backlit. That's really it.

I thought abut these when browsing shells for my procon but ultimately went for no lights. They did seem like a simple install from the pictures so maybe you just need to re-seat a connector properly or something. Also check for tears in the flex pcb which you could maybe fix with wire and solder

Ok, at least I have something to look for. If it's something I have to solder, I might as well just buy a new one because it's not that expensive. And yes it's very easy to install. It takes a little bit of time mostly because setting up the part that sits under the right and left trigger is kind of annoying but nothing that doesn't require just following the directions on their website really.

for xenoblade there's resolution mods but they grossly mess up the HUD, legit make the game unplayable for me, so my advice is to instead upping the resolution from within the emulator (for example i went for 2x given the game seemingly outputs at 720p docked) and then use this guy's 60 fps mod, level of detail mod and disable depth of field mod (which actually does a lot more than just disabling depth of field, the ini file i mentioned before it's in this mod. Called lib_nx.ini, you can fiddle with it cause there's other stuff also disabled like lens flare and other visual effects, plus it too manipulates resolution with iirc his default setting putting it at 0.7, aka 70%, of its normal output so you'll want to make it 1.0 or even higher if you want)
also check gamebanana for other mods beyond graphics ones, there's a handful of them in total but some are borderline bugfixes that feel pretty useful
only issue i found so far is that this guy's mods for Xenoblade X are for an older game update instead of the latest one, and i read the latest update fixed a bunch of shit so i hope by the time i get to it he'll add support for the latest update

Hey guys, I'm running a softmodded Gamecube with Swiss via the mem card SD card action replay exploit and it works just fine for everything except Animal Crossing. It just doesn't track the time properly when the console is turned off, I always have to manually change the time before loading up my village. Is your sd formated in exfat? If so, that's the problem. Exfat sdcards eventually do this. Format it in fat32 and redo it again. And remember to never use anything but fat32 to prevent the corruption over time.

sys-clk iirc is the one that overclocks the system by actually putting it on what the hardware can already do, cause the switch is actually underclocked. And in my experience ye you get somewhat better performance (don't expect much though) but my issue was that the switch then was running way hotter than i was comfortable with. I guess trying it out in summer wasn't ideal, but still

sys-clk is the overclocking sysmodule ye, for mods you just drop them in the game's folder that you make in the atmosphere folder somewhere

Honestly I don't know for sure but I think it's best to assume the hacked shit leaves traces on your system that Nintendo's telemetry will flag if you go online. The emuMMC method is a lot safer to isolate that stuff so it doesn't touch your OFW at all, though if you've already installed homebrew you should try your best to get back to a clean, factory state before doing it. And even then I can't 100% promise you won't get banned but it's a lot less likely imo.

Also keep in mind that bans don't happen instantaneously, Nintendo flags accounts and then does them in waves which makes it a lot harder for people to tell immediately what will and won't get you banned.

I've had a hacked switch for years, never banned. I've even done online stuff, including Pokemon Home. Main thing is to do as little hack stuff on your Sysnand. Only thing I've used CFW on Sysnand is for save backup/restoration, and on airplane mode. Everything else (cheats, piracy, etc) is on Emunand only.
