I'm coming back to catch up on stuff with a friend that is being unbanned saturday.

Ive always sucked at picking a main. I could use some advice on what is currently decent and fun if anyone will oblige me.

I have a reasonably geared 80: Paladin, Shaman, Hunter and Mage but really only the Hunter dicked around on the storm island and that' as far as I got. I also have semi fresh 80: Rogue, Demon Hunter, and Warrior.

I have a hard time making choices and most everything is fun for me.

What should I fuck with in the current patch going into 11.2 for just general play and trying out the new content with my buddy? We do raids but mostly LFR type, nothing sweaty.

Yes. Traveling to northrend itself was hype as fuck. Going to howling fjord as alliance tons of players all on the boat as it slowly goes through canals showing off the scenery of ice glaciers and viking ships on fire hanging from cliffs was awesome. You arrive and fucking tirion fordring is one of the first characters you meet in disguise where you help him retrieve ashbringer. Seeing arthas pop up taunting you and ordering his minions about was cool. The first dungeon you do a huge viking fortress which was cool. The thassarian questline was awesome. Malygos and the nexus war in boreon tundra was cool. Wintergarde keep area in dragonblight was awesome with all the naxx class NPCs making a return and giving quests. Frostmourne cavern with the flashback. Wrathgate was incredible and the siege on undercity incredible. Sholazar is one of the comfiest zones in the game with fun nesingwary hunting. Grizzly hills was a great zone with a fun worgen curse questline. Dalaran still the best city in the game. Kino ulduar patch cinematic with varian and thrall/garrosh. Kino raid in ulduar. Kino boss concept in algalon.
ToC was a shitty period of the expansion but then it goes right back to kino with ICC. 3 new dungeons to boot which was awesome, then finally entering the citadel itself with the iconic showdown with arthas. Absolutely cinema fight with how he kills you at the end and tirion going super saiyan.
Great zones, great city, great quests and storylines, great gearing system with valor points, great patches. Great expansion. It's considered the best for a reason.

Thane is about RNG extra nature damage on Thunderclap.
It's completely passive and you play it like you would until level 70.
Colossus is about stacking a buff that boosts damage of your multiple abilities including your Hero ability - Colossus smash - which is one extra ability on your bar.
It does fughueg damage especially on 70.
It's a short channel which locks you out of movement, which feels extremely janky at first, but it's easy to get used to in a little while.
using also consumes the stacks of the buff, but before you are able to use it again, you will be at full stacks anyway. It's basically a mechanic to prevent Arms (who can also be Colossus) to just charge and do big damage.

Yeah it's called Demolish, not Colossus Smash btw, my mistake.

And yeah Colossus is cool as hell.
It even has an extra knock-up effect on Shockwave, so even when mobs are already immune to stuns, you can pause them with that (every 15 seconds when fully talented) - Thane has nothing like that.

You also get a swell 5% buff to your size as a passive, which, when under the effect of an M+ affix buff, makes your average+ sized character big enough to not be able to pass through some doorways in Mechagon, so you stand there like a goober, waiting for the buff (which is actually an uncancellable debuff) to fade.

Not an issue for a tank unless you target singular exceptions, like those priory cunts who hop around, but in that case you are retarded for targeting them instead of any other mob that stands in place, or using Demolish on a single last standing unit instead of saving it for the next pull.

You still finish the channel unless you kill the mob with the first hit, which literally doesn't happen in M+ or raid. Again, comes down to you being retarded starting the channel on a unit that is about to die in the next 1,5 second.

Only thing that pisses me off about it is how inconsistent the knockback immunity is - some knockbacks simply pass through, even though it's rare exceptions. And that pulls (like last boss in Mechagon or second boss of Rookery) are not counted as such. Then again, it's a skill issue.
