It was 10% not 5%. The compensation damage only covers 3 attacks and not the most important ones. Because of this he actually do less damage on uppercut and the same on the other two attacks. But less damage on everything else including his ult. Double tracer will require you to burn a web swing to get close because it knocks spidey away so you can't use it after web pull. Symbiote team up allowed you to use it at any point and also gave you i frames.

Venom was also just a much, much better character to synergize on a team with than fucking johnny and peter.

it's something you must learn through countless trials and errors, my win rate was like 30% until i unlocked the third eye a few weeks ago
but some general tips:
>you get your ult often, but don't use it unless there's a good opportunity. if you just try to go eat their team while nothing's happening you will absolutely get shot to death. best time to use it is in the midst of a teamfight while healer ults are going off, because this tends to make the enemy let their guard down. also, swim up to them with shift then immediately use it, don't give them time to react by using it early. and if they have a lot of heroes who can get out of it easily, you may not want to use it at all

>if nobody on your team is hurt, don't be afraid to spit some bursts into the enemy crowd, you'd be surprised how often it damages and displaces stragglers enough for them to die

I want to say the meta shift for season 3 is not as clear as it was for the previous seasons. I feel like they are empowering brawl/dive tanks as they are increasing their lockdown potential (Hulk via teamups with buffed characters, Thing, Venom ect). For dps they are rewarding more consistency (Landing shots with Namor/Bucky, combos with Spidey or sticking to people as Wolverine). Healers in general feel somewhat the same minus Loki getting his ult slower. As for the team-up changes they all focus on making it easier to land final blows for using them and actually incentivizing good team comps more than the downside of having them (For example, squirrel is better with an ironman rather than a spiderman in terms of team composition without the team-up.)

That being said the differences between 2.5 and 3 feel like they are pushing for more team play and team comp centered gameplay rather than solo carries. Flexing seems real beneficial.

Good survivability goes a long way. It means you will generally outlast your enemies and spend more time actively in the fight. For a healer this also means you will keep your other allies alive better with less downtime (if you die as a healer and walk back to the field that's time you're not healing).
