I'm really not trying to make a "Soive = soulless" post but how exactly would you describe Strive's art style? It feels like the game's art is carried entirely by the character design, when if you look at the actual art itself, like the lines, the posing, the eyes, the way things are drawn, etc etc, like it all feels like the most generic possible "ANIME" style imaginable. I have no clue how to draw something imitating the art style of strive's splashes because it feels like there's no art style to imitate.

It'd probably be easiest to add a new move for Zato, and if designed properly maybe even make him easier to balance towards the middle rather than being on a kind of great or awful binary. I don't know Leo or Zato well at all, but I can't imagine what you could even give to Leo.

I'm having a really hard time choosing a Xrd main, everytime I try to settle for one I realize it's not the kind of character I enjoy. I actually hate the entire philosophy behind wallbreaks (which also leads to the high stun values). They are half of what's wrong with modern fighting games distilled down into one god awful mechanic, they have zero redeeming gameplay qualities and a single redeeming non-gameplay quality (looking at different parts of the stage is cool in theory but not much is done with it because it seems like the budget for stages hasn't changed from Xrd but the scope has and only adds something interesting on maybe 2 or 3 stages + can just be done through other means like just changing the stage after a round).

To be honest, I’m American so I don’t really connect with the sales obsessions they have in certain countries. I’m more interested in if a game is good or not. Sure if you make it a weird easy game with more dulled aesthetic and smash mechanics it will get more players, but being popular is different from being good. The entire point of the post is that Guilty Gear has been given multiple chances to show that its an IP worth doing without changing the core of it. +R was made then Xrd where they reverted to #R and yet the so called hardcore fans failed to show up for it. This was a chart from /asg/ back 2013 during the height of GG vs BB and console sales and were a big metric in showing if a game is successful or not. Of course theyre going to fucking change it given those pathetic numbers, when even the so called casual game at the time Blazblue managed ro pull 3x that amount and Americans HATED Blazblue because it was considered a baby game with an insufferubly playerbase. Its hard to take people who say OLD GAME GOOD but will not show up to do the simple act of playing the games. Theres a huge disparity in the people who say it and the hard numbers thats present.
