I genuinely don't get how ANYONE could claim this game is easier than something like World unless World was your first MH game and you were making it unnecessarily hard on yourself through knowledge gaps OR you're selectively refusing to remember certain traits about World that made it easier because the culture here (and online in general) is claiming Wilds is extremely easy and going against that is contrarian.

I think I don't like bow.

I already dislike having focus mode ON permanently on melee weapons because it reduces FOV, but with bow its even worse. Another thing I hate is that if you're not hitting the monster head you pretty much only do white damage hits, which sucks in multiplayer, this rarely happens with melee weapons but I guess its to balance the fact that bow doesnt have the sharpen mechanic. It also seems like I take more damage when using bow? idk was getting one shot by stuff that didnt when I was on my main weapon (hammer)

Lagi isn't the hard one, it's Steve that's difficult. He's just insanely quick and his hits don't put you on the ground so you can't survive follow up hits by staying on the ground. I like that hunts are harder and longer. It was fun to actually run Seregios and Lagiacrus over and over to learn how to fight them. Same with Mizu. Past Wilds monsters never really made me do that because they did almost no damage and were constantly wound stagger locked. The wound resist changes have been a godsend.

As another anon mentioned, this version of Seregios is actually must sturdier than past versions because he only trips when you break a wound on his leg rather than damage thresholds on his paper ankles. Older Steves would be on the ground more than half the fight; Wilds' Steve actually gets to fight back.

The dogs are better at fighting and use different moves based on your weapon attacks, so if you want to do optimal damage then you'd want two dogs with the appropriate behaviors set for your weapon to make them do their strongest attacks more often. You can get along fine with two cats though, and if they're both collect cats then you'll get a lot of extra mats after quests. That's what I've been doing for my second playthrough. I do miss the dog pouch and the tracking, but you can just filter your map for similar tracking ability. For mobility, a cat with the summon endemic life skill to get you an extra wirebug more often is plenty.

In the game's current state, running on NVIDIA 2000 series and above, the pop in issues are gone, you can get fully locked 60 with DLSS quality, the game looks sharp and without ghosting bugs, and even temps are honestly absurdly low for how much of a "demanding" game it is. All of my friends who have 2060s and 3060s run the game perfectly now. And those GPUs are from 2019 and 2020, 5 and 6 years ago respectively. If the game runs fine on GPUs from that era, I don't know what more you could get out of the game. I find the idea of forcing Capcom to make the game run perfectly on 1000 series cards not only absurd but dumb with how old those GPUs are by now. And keep in mind that going by steam, most people have a 3070.

I still hear AMD GPU peeps have some crashing issues so those should get fixed but in terms of actual performance, people that want it to get better than this are asking for the impossible at his point. Wanting a 2025 highly demanding game running on GPUs from fucking 2017 and 2018 is retarded.

My irl friends I play with have a 2060, 2070 and 3070ti respectively, I have a 3060. That's every low and mid range GPU for the 2000 and 3000 series, with the 2060 being 2019. All of can run the game at locked 60, we all have the same graphical settings but the 2060 guy runs it on DLSS balanced instead of quality so the game looks blurrier on his end but still no drops or bad visual bugs. For the rest of us our games look more or less the same, sharp and no drops. I use Framework to mod a bit more contrast into the lighting on my end but it doesn't impact performance.

Why? Again, the use cases for different weapons were really clear and a lot of fights were much, much faster and easier with different weapon selections. Right tool for the right job was prevalent when things like hardness and reach actually mattered. Hammer's charge attacks not bouncing was invaluable and a niche other weapons didn't have. Being able to upthrust to hit squishy parts or even reach things was a Lance thing. Cutting high up tails for plate chances was a GS thing.

The incentives to switch weapons were very clear and present. Your friends taking twice the time to kill stuff wouldn't make that go away.

It's easy if they were designed like that from the start but I suspect they aren't, so one would have to go over every weapon texture map and add masks for recoloring manually.
It's certainly doable but if they're willing to put in the work to do it for something only a minority has requested is a different question.

I've never had any problems with crashing, major frame drops, the graphics, etc. And it's run smoother and smoother with each update they've done. Sucks that others seem to be having such problems, but it feels like it's either more than just the game or something else in their builds that's causing their problems.
