There'll be some variatons of story characters that we'll have to pull, but for the most part the new characters are unrelated to the story.
We do get special events and new game features though.
The patch with Yui and Marian will (or should) add a new game mode where you pick paths inside the metaverse until you reach a goal, there's enemies and there's plenty of loot. It's kinda fun and there's a lot of jewels involved.
Yui herself isn't story-related at all though. Neither is Minami/Marian.

Actually feels like P5. Movement is slightly worse, but battles feel good. Audio and visuals are 10/10, they even gave every persona a little stenciled icon.
Characters are all great so far and are quite varied
The scope of the baseball stadium kind of makes it feel like a continuation of P5 in that it's fucking huge, and you get a lot of time to just explore and fight stuff.
Subway Slammer's presentation is unironically really good. The way they showed him degrade into being a petty and bullying piece of shit puts him ahead of half of P5's villains.
