The US is built around the highway, most aspects of businesses are tied around it along with most activity based on stops. There are many different sub cultures for locations depending if it's the south or the coast. Mainly due to what kinds of people are attracted here. It's common for there to be dead cities, cities that used to be extremely strong 10-30+ years ago that have been run down. it's an extremely diverse country that has most locations made to be similar due to corporations and the similar corporations getting the same spots in certain areas. It's a sort of corporatism where every company tries to make the same kinds of buildings for modernization compared to it being more diverse years ago. I tried Japanese for one session, it doesn't connect to me at all. But it was fine. Reading English while listening to Japanese is fine too. But listening to a language I don't speak for a hundred hours of dialogue and gameplay isn't really a preferred way to absorb information or be immersed. If I have to take a piss or look at my other screen for a minute, I can't listen to Japanese dialogue on autoplay. And especially considering all of the text has already translated/localized, I don't see much value in still listening to any Japanese. I'm not autistic when it comes to an English dub either, so if it's been professionally done and there's no offensive voices, English is usually always default. Certain Japanese games though especially if a specific character or characters drives me crazy,, then I will absolutely play in Japanese without a question and it's almost always better for it. Final Fantasy X, Yakuza games, and Visions of Mana come to mind as stuff I played in Japanese within the last year or two. Tidus was straight up unbearable in English, and so was Careena's hick accent in Mana. Yakuza is just way too Japanese to not be played in Japanese.

Also you know when I see Ann, I see the stunning White girl with blue eyes, blonde pig tails and huge boobs who likes pink that she is, and I don't see a little demure dark haired almond eyed Japanese woman. I see a tall White girl who eats desserts and is kinda dumb, and that's the voice I want to hear when I romance her. I know that JP actress played Hinata previously, and so I know that she's good and she's iconic in that role.

But yeah, I think the ditzy White girl voice is just much better for the personality being portrayed and it has allowed me to connect with her more.

Unironically yes. Japanese players understand the puns, references, and allusions better than any other player. Even those fluent in japanese are going to miss things that a native speaker, especially one who actually grew up and lives in japan, got instinctively.
Theres even a gap between what someone who's from Tokyo experiences compared to some hick a couple hundred km away.

Someone who doesn't speak english, and is unfamiliar with both British civil war history and Catholic/Protestant theology, isn't going to understand Paradise Lost compared to someone who is.

It wouldn't work. There's substantially more recorded dialogue in Reload than any of the previous persona games - you can't just get new recordings out of thin air.
Frankly, there's 3 options - 1 just replay an older version if the voice is that much of a hangup for you, 2 give the new ones an earnest try, 3 go for JP voices. All three are valid.

Every single person in Persona 5 speaks Engrishu if you are playing it in Japanese. Because they are Japanese people, and they can't speak English. Not speaking English well is not really a defining character trait for Anne then is it?

Ryuji's Japanese and English skills were both questioned by Morgana in the English dub, referencing this same exact concept. So I can't take "arguments" about Ann's Engrish seriously if there's no proof posted. The fact that I'm even discussing this at all, means I'm trying to hear out what you people have to say about why this should in any way be important to me. For all I know, the scene being described is adapted just fine in the English dub and so her lack of "Engrish speaking" complaint is essentially irrelevant.

But all everyone bickering about the dub are doing is berating someone for not playing Persona 5 in Japanese. This has happened here multiple times already in the last few days. The joke here is that the Japanese man is easily fooled by her simply introducing herself in poor English and then immediately switching to Japanese. Ann is established repeatedly as a bad liar, and this scene plays on this because ironically even though she did the bare minimum for two sentences it worked because Japanese people don't know English.

In the English version, she maintains a British accent for the rest of the conversation, and the Japanese man has no reason to believe she is faking it because she isn't doing a poor job. This contradicts her characterization as a poor liar and actress, and really takes away some of the humor of the scene.

Maybe this would be considered funny, hilarious even for a Japanese person. But I'm not a Japanese person. I speak English. That's why it's been localized the way it is. Watching those videos though back to back (thanks for not selecting "copy video URL at current time" btw), I definitely prefer the English scene and the characterization of Ann doing a cute, terrible, fake British accent for 5 seconds to trick the guy into thinking she's "of noble British/foreign blood". Queuing up attacks just doesn't work super well with how certain things interact. Half the time the fight will halt itself when something changes anyway, so micro-managing was often ideal outside of most random battles. I think that there's a core to P2's combat that can work, but the queue system and turn order could use a revisit. I'd rather they don't just do P3 and on combat for it though. Maybe they could actually do something with P1's range/space system again though.

It was pretty disappointing that the gun models in P5 only cycle between a couple styles each.
It was still a cool aesthetic part of P5, but they could have leaned into the model-gun otaku aspect a lot harder. Some of the item descriptions that reference real aspects seem to get the country, era, or something wrong. The text doesn't always match the model.
It is cool and would be cool, that when Joker is described as using an eastern-bloc manufactured pistol that was manufactured decades before P5 takes place and is a copy of a pistol designed decades before in the USSR and has a reputation in decades of Japanese media as a typical Yakuza pistol because for as many decades or more it was a typical yakuza pistol, it actually looks like said pistol.
Same for when he is supposed to be using an American (Isreali) weapon that is super popular in western (north american or otherwise) pop-culture (comics, movies, tv shows, albums, video games, ect.) despite having no actual service history in both the police and the military. The majority of players are going to recognize it, and even have some semblance of what firing one is like even if they have never actually fired one or seen one fired in real life before.
