That aside, Wylder is by far the best character to use Twinblades with, his hook allows for easy running attacks which are the best move they have outside of skills.
It's kinda depressing how garbage Executor is in comparison.
Even if I had the same setup on Executor, he wouldn't be able to properly use it since every time I'd use his skill he would 1h the weapon, and I wouldn't even be able to use the L2 before two-handing the weapon again as it would just to the Torch Attack instead.

I like have FP restoration of continuous attacks as a safeguard. Sometimes you don't get good FP-efficient spell, so you might use something more FP-hungry and still be able restore some FP over the course of the battle. Same for Revenant.

Flame of Frenzy is very strong ofc, but if you don't have a clarifying bolus the madness proc is a real setback midfight at times and a clear dps loss

giantsflame take thee is far safer and can outdps in the start of ed gnoster if you clip the moth instead, because it will hit both him and faurtis and the moth has higher vulnerability to fire, flame of Frenzy can't hit the moth very well period except for when its a corpse being initially resurrected by animus
Flame fall upon them is not as strong but very safe and hits tons of things, it is solid
flame sling is meh, still better than blackflame though
o'flame and catch flame are conditional but I think they do outdps flame of Frenzy theoretically, of course you need to hug bosses in melee and it can be hard to land, but I have had runs suggesting o'flame could outdps flame of Frenzy (and its dps doesn't fall off on small targets)
catch flame dps potential is probably lower cause you can't run charged incant lines, but I haven't had a run with it to say with great confidence
surge is poop, don't use it
whirl is really strong as well, I don't think it is as strong as flame of Frenzy but it has a tiny bit of a range if you get use to it so it won't miss like catch or o'flame, but I still was getting about 5k per incant with it
Oh, almost forgot burn o'flame (pillars), it is pretty hard to land and rng a bit, but it will wreck pretty much everything and tosses small enemies with low poise up
Flame of Frenzy is still crazy good and more reliable to find than everything but flame sling and other base incants though

People can and HAVE done all this. That's why there's hours-long lore videos. That's why there's shittons of lore threads after a game comes out. It happened for every Dark Souls game, and Elden Ring. And Shadow of the Erdtree. People read item descriptions, listen to NPCs, witness events in the game, make hypotheses, and discuss them with other people. Fromsoft intentionally designs the games this way, to massive success. People like this method of storytelling.

I've seen people claim the "Greattree" mentioned in the Root Resin description is something completely separate. And then someone else chimed in with the Japanese for the description, which clarifies that it's just the Erdtree. And I learned more about the game's story that day.

I'm gonna confess: I'm having way more fun playing Duchess without dagger restage relic. When I was using that relic I always felt that first I always HAVE to use daggers and thus often skipped other (often better) weapons in favor of daggers. And second I would always go for the full combo chain. And that's pain in the ass because you can't use safe double dodges and need to git gud with shitty single ones. And doing that I would get hit way too often.
So not running dagger restage relic just feels liberating.

every sweep of the laser ministaggers most field bosses like tree sentinels, the total damage for the fp is really good, and unlike ER you can actually use it when the boss has aggro on someone else. the base damage with a white seal just on the initial lightning roar hits packs of normal enemies for ~700, it does crazy damage, and the dps and fp efficiency is not bad. the problem in ER was that you'd never hit with the whole thing because nothing would either stand still enough to use it or have enough hp, 2 problems that dont exist in NR.

Nice if you're trying to trigger a status, but it also requires the full chain, and Duchess' dagger chains are long. If you don't have the full stamina for a chain it's not reprising, and even though Magnificent Poise lets you backstep once and continue the chain, you can't cancel an attack into a backstep, so it doesn't matter cause you'll either get hit or quickstep out, which breaks the chain anyway.

Aw man, had a good bug run die because they glitched out and the third bug wouldn't revive either. I'd put it down to probably being a lag issue, there were at least 2 rewards from field bosses that didn't spawn as well as the one under the castle's and the fight/HP bar statuses weren't exactly smooth.
