The cold steel arc I played with English dub so I didn’t have a bad experience with the localization however with daybreak arc I wanted to do jp voice since I don’t think NISA is hiring good people anymore and I don’t like that they started hiring transgender VAs like Kilikas voice. Plus the main character in daybreak is voiced by a novice VA and he’s autistic. But the translation is too different from the jp voice so I had to go with fan patch and it was awesome very faithful to the script and didn’t change personalities. Gungho even said that they want to make Sky the first more faithful to jp script so they took a dig at NISA

I think Rean fundamentally has a way worse problem when it comes to romance. It gets reset in every cold steel game and Kai ultimately renders your choices as a player meaningless. Van's romance on the other hand is closer to your typical harem, but I honestly don't know what falcom will do with it. The safest bet is that there'll be no definitive romance and it'll be stuck in harem teasings without a proper resolution. Fans might get real angry with this outcome thoughbeit.

Well for starters romance is developed and contained in the course of a one game.
Then you have actual dates and character story lines. You also get bunch of exclusive scenes in the main game depending on your waifu. It just feels more organic and natural, while in cold steel it's your typical shounen battle harem light novel garbage. LGC in Kai 2 should be like SMTV vengeance. The girl you would fight with depends on the alignment. Add also the faction and a dual skill like from Azure. So if you go pure law, you get Elaine and the bracers at the end. With Agnes you get CID, Shizuna with Ikaruga, Renne with Ouroboros.
