Roach would go way down if Dragon had an actual decent deck to use at the highest level. Instead dragon just completely vanishes because of sword and portal which leaves Roach unchecked. Ramp and Aggro dragon both get to do whatever the fuck they want against Roach.

Caring about the perceived difficulty of a deck or character is a favored pastime of retards and shitters. There's no one to impress and you'll get shit talked regardless, just run your race.

Imagine that tiers are an abstraction of expected win rate. So you have decks A, B, C and D.
In tier 1, deck A wins 55% of the time.
In tier 2, deck C wins 50% of the time.
In tier 3, deck D wins 45% of the time. There's a clear distinction between them.

Data dependent tier lists aren't necessarily reliable either, card game tier lists usually consider representation if they're trying to be practical among other things since there's no point preparing your deck for a very high win rate deck that no one knows how to pilot, and the one guy who does bricks by random chance in one game before you run into him and dies. Sometimes a deck has a really high overall win rate and isn't hard to pilot but there's an unwinnable scenario that makes it too unreliable to take competitively too, Yugioh's been dealing with a deck like that a lot lately where everyone agrees on one deck being the best in the meta with a good win rate to boast but it's consistently failed to bring in any tournament results.

How many cards and play points do you expect a typical haven player can spare setting up for a Jeanne in a typical game? In my experience it's most just Ronavero and maybe one bird AT BEST and that only even works against some decks.

Also, it's piss easy to play around Jeanne. Just have anything that lives the Jeanne hit - Olivia is a popular one - and now you've dunked one of Haven's sevos. And once their out of evos they can't do fucking anything.

I have been playing the game for over a week now on both PC and mobile. I am not F2P as I paid $200 for my first deck. Initially, the economy seems to be very bad (500 gold pack price, lower vial from liquefying silvers, and, critically, no liquefy first 3 copies). I thought it would sucks so bad as a F2P player or a low-spender. One week ahead, I changed my mind. The economy is fine and I can enjoy many good decks. In my current opinion, the only thing that need change is the no liquefy first 3 copies rule.

I am not the luckiest player (no 100 packs key jackpot) and neither I do any reroll. Just straight up normal player that buys all crystal package, plus battle pass. Currently, I have 2 top tier, pretty much fully upgraded decks (puppet portalcraft and artifact portalcraft, 3 if you include hybrid). I also have enough vials from extra cards to upgrade my half-baked decks into good viability (ramp dragon, midrange sword, aggro abyss). The only classes where I don't have enough resources to even make half-baked decks are runecraft and havencraft, in which both have very expensive top tier decks (I am absolutely fine with this, F2P players and low-spenders aren't supposed to have everything). Finally, I have around 7000 gold that I save for next expansion (that is still growing everyday) as I am satisfied enough with my current collection.

So far so good. I am having a blast with this game and I have variety of viable decks. So, what happens that suddenly change my mind and my perspective on the economy? It turns out that the economy is REALLY supported by the freebies that Cygames give (Daily packs, park keys, events, events, events (many of them), bonus packs from here and there, and recently, 3 free legendary packs). So, as long as Cygames keep pumping up these freebies, I think the economy is going to be fine.

As much as I hate the no liquefy first 3 copies rule (and expensive cosmetics lol), I can't give the game negative review anymore.

Honestly I’m just having a lot of fun with this game and wanted to post something positive about it after seeing all the negative reviews.

I’ll freely admit that I’m not a FTP player, but I haven’t spent a ton (only $200) and I’m really enjoying the fast-paced experience and play styles so far.

I’ve never played the original Shadowverse so I’m not doing a direct comparison here. I will say however that compared to the CCGs/TCGs I’m used to (Hearthstone, MTG including physical) the cost here really doesn’t seem out of line from what I’m accustomed to with this genre. Again, not comparing to the original, just the experience of a totally new player.

I was going to wait longer to write a post like this so I could speak with more gameplay experience, but I have a few decks built with reasonable success and am having a ton of fun, and because I almost didn’t start this game because of some of the negative posts I wanted to write from my experience to encourage other new players to try it out!

The flipside was auto-win vs puppets, and god damn were puppets fucking everywhere last week. Control abyss can pretty realistically heal for 12-18 HP. Puppet portal just straight up has an approximate upper ceiling on how much damage that they can push face between orchisx2+Liam. If you can heal out of range of that, then they start shitting the bed.

Rune is practically an auto-loss, but I've won a decent chunk of the time vs forest. Perhaps simply due to inadequate experience on the roach players' part. I can pretty comfortably keep my HP up near or at 20 vs forest, and then I just try to keep putting threats onto the board. Force them to spend resources from hand to clear them. Sometimes it's too much pressure for them to setup a 20 HP OTK.

It's a lot of leggos to build a decklist that is arguably tier 2 at best. Winrate vs assorted aggro decks depends a lot on slowing them down with orthus demon, board wipes, and healing. The aggro variants of abyss have almost inverted matchups in that reportedly it's alright vs rune but gets shutdown hard by portal.

I cannot in good faith recommend that you spend vials on abyss this close to the new set. Keep your options open for when we see what the new set brings.

It was the no-wincon CBlood list. The goal was to just stall out the game until the enemy concedes, decks out, or runs out of gas (at which point you could just kill them with control followers). The deck had a huge array of defensive options and could survive almost anything short of an OTK, so it ate aggro and burn decks for breakfast, but struggled against combo decks and other control decks that had real win conditions (that's why Odin is there at two copies - he just exists to remove Fallen Seraph and Mordecai).
The no-wincon CBlood mirror would last 30+ minutes and was a thinking man's game where the goal was to survive while drawing fewer cards than your opponent. If you draw too few cards, you run out of outs and they just kill you. If you draw too many cards, you deck out before they do (and most of those mirror games ended in deckout).

PtP wasn't that bad of a matchup desu. I had multiple amulet removal options and lots of healings, so I could often survive PtP coming out and the elf player would usually deck out soon. The worst matchups were Aegis, Deathly Tyrant, and DShift. In formats where DShift was meta I had to betray the nature of the deck and tech in an actual win condition instead of running pure stall, and I mostly just had to eat the losses on Aegis and Deathly Tyrant.

Blood was just always a really fucked craft from go. It had thematic overlap with half the other crafts, its class mechanics were often either totally ignored in deck construction or had to be cheated around, it was the hardest class to balance and ping ponged between busted and useless constantly, and they had a lot of trouble finding design space to give it interesting set mechanics.

There wasn't a lot to lose by cutting Blood since most everything it did already could either be unique effects on cards that were easier to tune, or easily given over to other classes. Shadow just had to suffer by being the one it was most easily rolled into.
