White sparks from winning races give a lower amount, notable races give more stats. Expect +1/2/3 in stats.
Pink sparks give a +5/10%-ish stat boost(some stats, not all stats) if they push your style/distance/track to S-tier.
Your horse needs A-tier in the style/distance/track you're aiming for to get them. Gold Ship will normally end Turf/Medium/Long/End pink sparks if you use her.
Stats over 600 have low odds of getting 3* sparks. Stats over 1100 have even better odds of getting 3* sparks.
This isn't everything. Correct me if I'm wrong.
What's the secret to getting consistent A characters? Struggling to get a stat to 1100 enough as it is.

I know El Condor Pasa does mostly medium and mile runs so I focused her on speed and gave her some endurance skills because her final race is a long one.
In the 3rd to last race before finishing all her goals where she had to place first, she placed 13th place or something like that and now I am just sitting here wondering why. I didn't want to waste any alarm clocks on it because my supply is dwindling
Sometiems this game feels like pure rng when it comes to what wins and what loses. Or maybe the guides you see online are wrong and I have been skewed into thinking this amount of speed is pretty good for that stage of the game? Or maybe speed isn't that important?

After that it gets a lot easier to just keep at it once you have made it a habit. I got the spark from mangas like Baki originally and I did it out of habit for a while, then got some issues and broke the habit. I've been running again consistently since the global release and I'm starting to make it a habit again, but only you can find that initial spark.
As for the courage just do it instead of overthinking it, as hard as it may be you shouldn't hesitate, if you're afraid of being judged then don't be, most people won't give a shit about you doing it, some will actually be happier that you're trying and the rest are just weaker people throwing shit from the peanut gallery.
