I had fun, chapter 2 was really good and I can see why people obsessed over it- that Giga Queen boss battle ruled so hard.
I'm not gonna buy it yet because I find the current state of the game unsatisfying, at least narrative wise. If chapter 5 manages to reveal some things proper or is just too interesting to ignore I'll probably get it then. just based off of what the NPCs like ramb say in chapter 3, everything in tenna's game that you can't get to (the stuff in the ice, the cave) is the same as the sword route stuff because it's literally the same game. tenna just grabbed it, planned content for everything he had time for, blocked off everything else, and then threw it at you three to have fun/buy time. like, the GLACEIR is still up there, with the stuff about the forbidden path and everything, you just can't get there because the means has been removed
NORTHERNLIGHT is the actual name of the levels you play in tenna's game; i can't remember where exactly it plays, but it's in chapter 3's OST. dess isn't trapped there, it's just the islands you float along (and the lost land is the content that tenna barred off).

The evidence for it is sparse, but at this point it's come up repeatedly
We know the soul existed before the game starts because of the cage, and there's already evidence that kris' hand is significant (at times it is transparent, and in snowgrave in chapter 4 if you say you'll never play the piano he specifically bites his hand)
If the motif is purely symbolic, then it's strange to repeatedly choose specifically the same same symbolism with no payoff. You'd expect it more to be varied symbolism with the same theme. (i.e. maybe the first story is losing his hand, the second story is losing his mouth etc.)

I think at this point it needs SOME kind of payoff, clearly. Thinking about what that might be points in the direction that whatever connected Kris to the delta rune was related to him losing his hand. Since the prophecy describes Kris as "the cage with human soul and parts" and uses the symbol of the delta rune symbol for him that implies that they're connected.

Carol we know what she sounds like, and she's not the knight by the Knight fountains, she has an alibi.

Kris as a separate entity from player is the only thing that makes sense. He's got the motivation, he would move just like our Kris, and he could go in and out of the darkworld. Nobody would be looking for him.

THEORY: Kris is only partially working for the Knight but has their own agenda.
In ch3 in the 3rd part of the sword route, 8-bit Tenna talks about how "their deal". Tenna already made a deal with the Knight so why does the game need to specify that he also made a deal with Kris? You could say that Tenna never met the Knight, Kris just relayed the details of the plan to him. But that still doesn't make much sense.
The Knight's whole plot to kidnap Toriel is super convoluted if we assume this was the Knight's plan. But it's not, it's Kris's plan. They were told to make a dark fountain to capture Toriel, but they left the door unlocked so that Undyne would enter and get kidnapped instead.
It explains why the Knight didn't immediately beline it to the dark fountain when it opened, because Kris opened it earlier than expected. It's also why the Knight didn't have time to give anyone a shadow crystal.
Several times we see Kris and Ralsei discuss things behind our back. This is obviously because narrative-wise, what they're discussing is so important it would give away a major plot twist.
Which is why Kris is ACTUALLY working with Ralsei to defy the prophecy.
Most damning evidence: their conversation at the end of ch4 where Ralsei apologizes to Kris and says he thought his ideas could stop the prophecy.
The player is listening, so Ralsei couldn't say shit like "I thought our plan that we discussed behind the player's back would've worked". But it's obvious Kris knows that's why Ralsei's actually upset and even hugs him of their own free will.

Kris doesn't want Noelle involved in the plot at all so she won't find out. Kris also subconsciously started moving away from Noelle because as much as they don't want to blame her, subconsciously they do.
Asriel knew, but he's the one that made Kris swear never to tell anyone.
Asgore saw the butt end of it, he didn't understand the context but he arrived just in time to see the last traces of Dess disappear into the shelter's darkness before it closed. He tried to get Asriel and Kris to confirm his story and couldn't understand why they didn't. The divorce with Toriel happened because he kept trying to pressure them into backing him up. The reason Asgore doesn't resent Kris now is that he's too much of a softy to hold a grudge for long, less now that he's alone and suffering, and even less because he understands Kris was just a child who couldn't possibly understand what happened, so he let it go.
The reason for the silence changed from not ruining Noelle, to Carol/the Knight/ the group having a plan to bring Dess back and fix everything.
When Asriel arrives next week, he'll immediately know the full story and join Kris in whatever the plan is, assuming he isn't already.
Toriel is not going to get back with Asgore even if he's proven to have been right about everything all along.

The weird/normal routes will determine which monster will die in the prophecy.
We will either possess Noelle or Susie and turn her into a superboss like Asriel/Undyne in Undertale and fight the titans in the roaring in their full might. After the fight, depending on the route, Noelle or Susie will melt and die due to the determination of the soul.

My schizotheory is like this, but she was specifically brought to the Dark World to try and toughen her up (that is to say "make her stronger") because she was such a crybaby and this ended with Dess getting caught in the crossfire
If Kris feels like they're responsible for it then I think Snowgrave could've been a repeat of what happened back then, Kris commanding Noelle to cast a spell she doesn't want to until she did, or maybe Kris didn't want to bring her with them and did something else out of resentment that backfired onto Dess
