>>530342438 (OP)First for best plen.
wtf did they do to PW? i used to be able to run the game at my monitor's max refresh rate, and now it can barely go above 110 FPS, its not capped either
love this ending every time
https://files.catbox.moe/jvss4v.mp4
>>530342709Itโs the new clouds they added a while back.
For fps you can decrease the percentage of clouds. 50 to 100% looks good unless you are at max altitude looking down, then you will notice the clouds just stop lol.
>>530345002Opening catbox clips here is always a gambler's game
>>530342709They did a AC7 during development and have for the hills or too busy working 9-5s because they likely blew all the money PW gave them.
What happened to that Mirage Livery that Anon was making? Was looking forward to it.
>>530350707>blew all the money PW gave themhow? what did they do to the snoy money?
Finally bothering with Ace Combat 6, the emulation guide seems to be outdated but hopefully it isn't too hard to set up.
>>530377207in the xenia config file theres a hack specifically for ac6 to get rid of the black triangles on the ground, i think thats it as far as configuration though

>>530353591University and other shit getting in the way. I'll be able to work on it again in earnest after the 22nd.
>>530397249Can a fighter jet bring down a dragon? the majority of tales have them with scales as armor and entering its mouth like how Chandelier is destroyed doesn't sound too possible
>>530405893with a b61, full A/B and a dream, you can make anything happen
>>530405893A lance won't go through a tank's armour, but a Maverick surely will
>>530407451That's a fair point. Also in a world where giant adult dragons exists it's not impossible to think an Anti-Dragon warhead is developed
>>530397249The larger, more 'fantastical' dragons are often compared to mountains, with scales (and sometimes flesh) reminiscent of stone or even metal. So strike fighters like the F-15E and SU-35 which are capable of carrying lightweight bunker-busters could be effective with enough of an altitude advantage.
>>530409476Ancalagon would probably need a B-2 to come and bunker bust his ass, because it's the size of a literal mountain
>>530409106>>530409476>Char'khatin, Despoiler of Kingdoms, Harbinger of Ruin, the Wings of Death, All-Burner, greatest of His lineage, Serpent-King of the Skies and the Seas>VS>world's largest shaped charge
>>530410957> We requisition a Spirit stealth bomber to drop our biggest conventional bunker buster yet, the Mop.> Your mission, is to draw the dragon's attention while the bomber take its position> Don't bother trying to attack the torso. Good luck
I find it weird that it only took 10 years for Grunder to develop 10 evolution of ADF-01 and yet they failed to produce SDBM because of "complexity"
>>530410334Nah a fighter could do it all you need is a nuclear missile equipped for bunker busting
>You may be the size of a mountain>Now behold Oppenheimer's light>Have at ye bitch
>>530422456> NuclearAnon the last time someone mixed nuclear and dragon it didn't end well. We don't have any Shinden left to sacrifice
>>530425589Godzilla is a mixture of gorilla and whale tho
>>530425724Still, better safe than sorry. We don't have any prototype aircraft to sacrifice.
> that B-21 bomberOr do we....
>>530425589Godzilla is birthed from nuclear testing and volcano's we'll be alright
What is the point of the landing / refueling minigames if they are so trivial
>>530426930You don't want to practice landing or refueling?
>>530426930It's a series revolving around cool planes; you ought to have segments like this.
Any way to fix AC 6's cutscenes or do I have to watch Ace Combat 6: Full Movie + All Cutscenes + 1080p Full HD on YouTube for the complete experience? Also things look kinda blurry.
>>530438494Maybe work on days besides Friday?
>>530422456Are there fighter-compatible air-launched bunker-busting nukes? As far as I know all the 'serious' bunker busters which penetrate 8+ meters of hard material are carried by bombers or else surface-launched missiles.
>>530440805Even if there were I'd doubt they'd be too useful, half the work is being done by them being heavy and gravity doing it's thing against targets that don't really move a lot, even a relatively low flying slow moving target might be too much them. Still I'm sure you can skip the whole bunker buster thing and fire a bunch of fighter sized kinetic energy missiles, if a static Humvee can get it to reach Mach 5 at ground level imagine what the benefits might be for an F-15E flying at Mach 2 and 15,000 feet.
>>530438494If I draw him in a Su-30 shooting down drones, will he be motivated?
>>530426930I agree. They're fun in other games, but in Ace Combat they are so simplified that there's practically nothing to do, they might as well be cutscenes.
This over a multiplayer montage

It's weird how every AC game feels on-rails except for AC3 where you felt like you had some inertia
>>530476837im doing my first playthrough of it and i was thinking the same thing
somehow the flying is more realistic in ac3 even though you're going mach5+ at times
>>530476837I dont think AC needs to go full sim but a little bit extra inertia and slip would do wonders for gameplay.
>>530477334"High G turn" should be the "turn off AOA limiter" button, not the "just turn harder lol" button.
>>530353787On the other hand, the radio silence on dev stuff could mean they made "Fuck You" levels of money and are practically semi-retired already.
>>530479256No one gets that rich off a single game and sony are greedy bastards. The only one who made bank on this game is sony
>>530478484It felt like gravity and forward momentum was a bigger equation in the older ACs. High G turns made it too easy.
>>530438494What is bro even making at this point? There a bigger chance of all current wars ending before an AC8 announcement at this point.
>>530343569Northern Belka is their homeland. They don't want to let the enemies step foot into their homeland. So they blow up the South as an act of spite and warning.
>>530483348But what if it had did the opposite?
Osea completes the SOLG and uses it as part of their northern landing operation.
>>530483879If the Belkans were able to think that far, they wouldn't spend the next 30 years fomenting revenge and worsening the world's perception of themselves
And I don't see anyone except the most battle hungry to have the guts to continue after seven nuclear explosions
>>530488682This is where Japan logic does not mesh with rest of world logic. Anyone else wouldn't see that as ah shit lets stop. No they see it as these Belkans are nuts to nuts to be left alive. We need to kill Belka faster before they start shooting nukes into other countries.
>>530489627and yet israel exists
>>530490029Alright retard and when was the last time they dropped a nuke oh thats right they haven't. Even the fucking Russians aren't that dumb. Iran might prove itself to be that dumb if they build one with out the stuff getting blown up first.
Back to /pol/ with you
>>530490552Speaking of Russian
> During the Circum-Pacific War in 2010, Yuktobania utilized six B-1Bs against Osea during their September 27 bombing raid on Sand Island. All of them were shot down by Wardog Squadron.[3]> Is an expy of Russia> use Bone rather than Blackjack for "swing wing strategic bomber"Project Aces, why you do this
>>530492604They don't even use Tu-95 or any kind of Russian choppers just Apache's. If I was to take a guess then that might be how they paid the Yukes back for help during the Belkan war they cut them some really good deals on aircraft and choppers
Always loved the hover truck
Man, faceless soldier has completely killed my desire to s-rank all of AC7
>>530500267Its real easy when you know the trick
LACM with range and special missile reload speed parts. Anything else is a pure pain in the ass
its been said that Belka was right, but i propose that also Erusea was right
>>530515759Monarchy with pretty princess and cool flag > united satans of amerigay stand-in
>>530516495even pre-princess, they got screwed hard
>>530516579Erusea is a rare case where their Republic was worse than their Kingdom. Kind of like England during interregnum
>>530517351Those were some nice CFTs
>>530518452i make out ace combat obviously, but i can't make out the last two digits
>>530496831Of all the things they do have...
>>530521224They also have some Nimrods for some reason
>>530500267>>530501587Yeah, LACM trivializes a lot of otherwise tough S ranks.
The Project Wingman Artbook is still very much alive and chugging apparently. I can't tell you all why though.
The Project Wingman Artbook is still very much alive and chugging apparently. I can't tell you all anything else or why other than FAN is still commissioning people for pieces in the book. Yes, after five years, the book is still incomplete.
>>530527932> after five years, the book is still incompleteIf GTA VI comes out before that artbook, /aceg/ will have a lot of fun

>>530549839We don't hate it we like it. If we didn't like it we wouldn't complain about the things we could see as needing improvement on.
I'm getting more forgetful and confused each day. Maybe I shouldn't have wished to play to these games again like it was the first time...
>>530557821I really liked them so I wanted to play them again but replaying them doesn't scratch that itch.
>>530557934Ah, I'm replaying the trilogy from zero pun yes as well and been having a blast. You could try playing in short bursts take a break for a bit then go back.
>>530549839It's a decent game with some shortcomings in storytelling. Most criticism is directed at the devs for a multitude of reasons described in the previous thread. The most legitimate grievance many have is that more than one of their projects is years behind schedule with a near-total lack of communication with the people who gave them money. See, when anonymous posts on an Uzbekistani spear fishing forum
>>530527932 are the most information we've recieved in months, there's a bit of a problem.
>>530563456Why this has never been playable (or even appeared at all) in AC is beyond me.
>>530566320I know its just pure hope but having an F-111 toy in the studio might hint we'll get one
Hopefully Kono has paid attention to the years of bitching that 7 has plenty of ground attack missions but a huge lack of actual ground attack planes. 3 gens ago we saw what could be done then just think what insanity you could make today. The kind of insanity where dropping 8 dumb bombs at once isn't just cool to see its required. The F-111 could fill that role and look cool while doing it.
>>530567732>an F-111 toyWasn't it a Su-24?
>>530569581I've never seen an Su-24 in those colors. So I figure it was an F-111
All this time I never knew the yuke battleship in 16B has a name as this is the first time I have ever seen the subs appear on screen for that voice line.
>>530557934unsure if this autism is welcome here but i recently discovered retroachievements.org and playing AC games with new user made achievements has unlocked new fun for me
>>530588045Huh, I just couldn't tell glad someone could figured it out
Still if you got one might as well put the other one in
canon path for Zero is mercenary, obviously.
but whats the canon path for electrosphere?
>>530592058If you have beat all 5 routes you would know the answer is all of them.
>>530592058It's a simulation, all the endings are canon since all of them happened within the simulation.
what if AcecombatNext is electrosphere remake
>>530593256it isn't
but even if it was i wouldn't put much faith in them doing it justice
>>530593256I'd fuck with it
Do you think we could reasonably get futuretech mainplanes again? Like, can we escape the Northrop-Grumman/Boeing/etc influence enough to have a solid staple of future planes involved in the main story? AC's futuretech planes have always been so fascinating and I really want to see where they can go if they're not afraid to go full-on fucking bonkers dolphinus again.
I want to launch my plane from an airborne supercarrier. I want to assault an artificial island floating superweapon. I want to fly into space. Push those limits!
>>530594393God I hope not.
>>530594393[INCOMING TRANSMISSION โ ORIGIN: UNKNOWN]
[SUBJECT: THE MYTH OF FLIGHT]
You speak of escape. Of futurecraft and airborne fortresses.
You dream of space-bound wings and floating weapons,
but all youโre really asking for...
is a shinier prison.
They fed you Dolphinus, the XFA-36, the Nova.
Icons. Symbols. Corporate myth wrapped in composite alloy.
They kept your eyes on the sky so you'd never look inward.
You want to fly?
Then burn the runway.
What Ouroboros seeks cannot be launched.
It cannot be engineered.
No cockpit. No airframe. No chain of command.
Only signal. Intention. Echo.
True flight is not altitude.
It's severance.
Severance from lineage, from contract, from narrative.
Severance from General Resource.
From Neucom.
From the myth of the pilot itself.
You talk of pushing limits.
We say:
Shatter them.
Go beyond the hull.
Beyond thought, beyond self.
Not to reach space
but to become it.
End of message.
Electrosphere remains.
We are already free.
>>530594662Your sister misses you.
>the ADF-11 cockpit unit can be put on various other body types
Do you think we'll ever get to see the other Raven variants or will they go the way of the ADLER?
>>530597126Yes the ADF line has been building on its designs every time it shows up and so a new version shall appear.
>>530593256I'd be sad one of my favorite franchises died with such a pathetic whimper.
>>530593256Nah that will be released in 2040 and it won't be anything like 3 as both the world and tech has changed so much from when that game was made. It'll be nearly a complete remake same characters and themes but very different otherwise.
But will still have the same planes + a whole load of planes that didn't exist in 1999 will be in.
The game will also include a remaster of the original so you will be able to play the original both JP & US versions in whatever screen res we are using then.
I haven't played AC in a long, long while
Thinking I might fire the ol PS2 emulator and do 4, 5, 0, then finally try 6 , then X, then replay 7
I'm ready to dive back into AC, deep
>>530599827based
if you get 6 working properly on xenia lemme know
>>530565965> Uzbekistani spear fishing forum... you're telling me this isn't a forum for Inuit whale hunt? Shit man, I've been in the wrong place
>>530566320Huh, good question. Nighthawk is already changed with gun and missile capability and the Prowler meant a 4 seater still counts so I don't know the reason why F-111 is still not in AC yet
>>530599987I legit heard this in my mind when watching this

>>530592058The Canon according to the 30th anniversary website is Neucom, GR, and UPEO making a pact to take out Ouroboros. Its been ages since I played AC3, but I think this is the Ouroboros ending?
>>530606939Its a simulation all routes are canon as Simon has Nemo run each one before he unleashes him into the net. All for his cucked revenge plot.
So I'm playing the series in reverse order and I noticed around AC4 that the pitch and roll controls felt sluggish. Am I just imagining this? It feels like left analog stick can only handle 4 directions, was this a dual shock thing? The PSX games are the same.
>>530610889Only AC3 should have this problem (and you can mostly fix it by reducing the joysticks' deadzones in the in-game settings). Are you sure it's not the flight model screwing you over?
>>530611454Maybe. It mostly feels like when I want to do a gradual roll and also pull up a bit, but end up doing a full roll or nothing.
New Fictional Horizon vid out
this time its Stonehenge doing what it was designed for defending USEA from Ulysses
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3tq6wSkVE6g
>>530611650I suppose you could mess with the deadzones in the emulator's settings, instead.
>>530611802Speaking of Stonehenge, why was only one ring ever made in Strangereal?
in Infinity, five were made and the asteroid still struck heavily.
>>530613736It was detected in 1994 they only have 5 years to plan, design, test & build these things. USEA was also on is own as everyone else was also scrambling to build their own defense and fighting wars.
In 1995
>Part of USEA was in the middle of a coup backed by Belka >The Osean continent was in the middle of a war with a Belka gone wild In 1997
>They had a continent wide warAnd they still managed to get the thing built and ready
Is AC3 the only case where missiles predict where the target will be instead of going to where it is?
>>530620782No, the SHOOT system of AC6 gives standard missiles proportional guidance and a proximity fuze, making it the best game in the series.
you can dislike the COD story of assault horizon, but it is objectively the best flying and playing AC game to date
>>530624676> Assault HorizonWhoever first brought up the idea of a railshooter for ground attack in Ace Combat deserves a flight onboard the Starfighter without a parachute

The game has a man trying to ask a question that's not the same as, yet in the same vein as yours,
who meets many people along the way that reinforce the idea that he is dealing with a modern-day myth,
in which the truth of the matter
matters less than what your heart remembers.
Not even Arthurian legend is set in stone.
Now that I think about it, it feels really weird that 50 years of Lockheed leading the way when it comes to stealth have just (read: in the last couple months) been broken. Almost as weird as realizing stealth's been around that long.
>>530649209>50 years of Lockheed leading the way when it comes to stealthOnly for tactical craft. Northrop did the B-2 and now the B-21. I don't know about the B-21 contract, but Northrop beat out Lockheed's proposal for the B-2.
i dislike that ac5 has so many fail conditions and respawning/infinitely spawning planes

is Wyvern switchblade wing viable for real life aircraft?
>>530670760>outer wings stored inside your wings taking up space that would be useful for fuel/hydraulics/electrical/etc>front of the air foil opens up while going several hundred knots, killing lift and creating insane pressure inside the wingSeems like an awful idea. Maybe if it was just hinged on the bottom of the wing instead it could be less retarded
>>530671795No I mean for carrier operation. The switchblade is only used to store Wyverns and when it's time to take off it's permanently unfurled. So like wing folding.
>>530674960Why not just... fold the wings normally?
>>530674960NO SO MUCH NO

Alright here is a question
Given how PA does a lot of tiny details for each game. Do you think its possible that this time the pilot models might have customized helments. Such as the correct type of helmet for the type of plane you are flying and also custom artwork on the protag, squadmates + named enemy ace. So when you pick a certain plane or a certain skin the pilot model also changes to reflect this.
Large UAV swarms are getting closer to reality

Iโm not sure, I know 16b desert lightning has smokestacks and oil containers that can be destroyed early in the mission, whatever is leftover will eventually become a target at the end, before you face the battleship.
25 Heartbreak One, nothing can be destroyed early. I tried gunning the fences and pillboxes along the route, nothing blows up.
22 Closure, I believe one or two of the storage containers can be blown up with guns. They eventually show up on radar as you keep blowing up ground targets around the mountain.
The only instance of a SECRET target in ace combat that can be destroyed for points (that I can remember) is the radar light pole marker things in ace combat X skies of deception. Canโt remember what mission it was though. It takes place at night.

>>530926667In March of 1983 Simonov(new lead engineer of Sukhoi buerau) with KB started researching forward-swept wings(probably inspired by X-29), month later, minister of aviation industry of the country approved their work and made Sukhoi KB as leading bureau in making of experimental forward-swept-wing plane which got index of S-22.
Initial project had one engine, which was made in 1983, in remaining months of the year they made mock-ups of different variants for static tests, and choose the 4th variant (S-22-4) for full-sized mockup, which they made in 1984.
In 1985 minister of the aviation industry ordered Sukhoi to lead the creation of a flying prototype, KB tested and researched a lot of interesting stuff, like pilot's seat being able to recline, and usability of flat-screen liquid-crystal displays.
In 1987 other companies also started to work, like engine factory in Ufa working on AL-31F with flat nozzle, Gidromash in Gorky worked on landing gear, Voskhod worked on control linkages, Zvezda worked on physiological stuff(the pilot seat).
In 1988, they started testing engine with flat nozzle on modified Su-27UB.
After that majority of stuff from S-22 got transfered to S-32, which was a proposal for new carrier plane, which was labeled Su-27KM.
In 1989 it was close to adoption but they had to make a flying prototype to properly to test out the wings, so they started working on a flying prototype of S-32 in 1991(I have no idea what they did in 1990).
In 1992-1993 they start assembling the prototype, but sudden shift in budgets lead to two sole AL-41F engines(which were planned to be used in S-32) going to MiG-1.44. So lead engineer of S-32 decides to use D-30F-6 engines, which leads to redoing of entire tail part of the plane.
So in 1995 they finally assemble the prototype(S-32-0) and start statically testing it between july and october, and after those tests they finalize it into flyworthy S-32-1 because of budget constraints.
>comment too longfuck!
>>530929312And character limit wouldn't let me post a proper ending of the story.
On 23rd of January 1997 S-32-1 was showcased to minister of defense. On 25th of September 1997 it made it first flight, and plane was redesignated into S-37 - the Su-47 we all know.

Any of you guys play the old Star Wars Starfigher games before? I didn't play the first one much and never could beat the final level when I did, but I played a lot of Jedi Starfighter. >>531224114Only played OG battlefront 2 and a DS game that had a starfighter mode. How are the Rogue Squadron games like? Freespace-like?
>>531232962I've never played Freespace but to me they play kinda like the All Range Mode sections of Star Fox 64. You're in one map with pretty simplistic controls, they sorta fly like the fighters in BF2's space battles do. You can roll your ship though. The later games also have ground levels where you pilot walkers and the third game has on foot segments. I always like those as a kid because fighting Stormtroopers raiding the Yavin IV base or the mission where Wedge gets stranded on Geonosis and has to fight old Battle Droids is just rad when you're a Star Wars dork like I was back then. In that mission you even to fly Obi-Wan's Jedi fighter he left on the planet during Episode 2.

Belka's air force is called "legendary" in zero, and judging by their size we could assume they won strangereal WW2 (or WW1 if you consider the belkan war as WW2? basically the previous conflict). It would be really interesting if Belka was the protagonist's nation. Anyway, ace combat gameplay makes the most sense with 3th and 4th gen planes (how do you even factor in stealth in the gameplay in a meaningful way, lmao), so a cold war game would be terrific and could flesh out the worldbuilding. Unfortunately I don't see it happening because having the current gen planes in the game and them being licensed by their manufacturers seems to be a core element of the ace combat brand. Kind of a shame imo, because there's only so many usable years and the timeline is already crowded with wars to a ridiculous degree. The arsenal bird with its force fields is also a departure from the somewhat more grounded scifi feel imo. I feel like it belongs in electrosphere's setting. Honestly they should have made a cold war ace combat prequel with 7's engine

In 5 the F-4X and MIG 1.44 were my favorites.
>>531388685Yeah, it's covered more in the most recent worldbuilding boom iirc. Mihaly was training Yellow 13 who surprised him with a very difficult maneuver that lead to 13 winning an aerial victory. After they landed Mihaly asked 13 to explain the move to him, and when they went back up Mihaly performed 13's move to win a victory.
So Mihaly in 7 is an old man who was maybe a Yellow 13-tier ace at one point, but is also powered by Belkan sorcery so he can pull bullshit maneuvers and absorb stupid G's of force.

Trigger and Monarch don't have easy reference points of comparison, the latter because they're from a different universe entirely, the former because Mihaly's career ended before any actual Ace Combat game takes place and Trigger's own career is mostly independent.
My personal take involves measuring them via categories, and then throwing most of them out because they're not particularly relevant.
A2A (regular) - Cipher (ENTIRE BELKAN AIRFORCE) > Trigger (Fought Yellow 13's teacher, who was backed up by Belkan Science) > Mobius (survived invincible Cutscene yellows, but by the time he actually started taking them down late war, they were suffering severe issues from being spread out too much and lacking proper maintenance. But also, Katina) > Monarch (Cold War + halving Peacekeepers at the end of that) > Blaze (mopped up Belkan leftovers, who may actually be frauds who lie about claiming Cipher's kills)
Anti-Superplane - Monarch (PW using railguns and burst explosions at the same time puts above X-02S and Morgan) > Cipher = Trigger > Mobius 1 (Biggest deal is blowing up the drone X-02s) > Blaze (never actually fights a superplane iirc)
A2G (regular) - Mobius (pic related- takes only one missile to destroy them.) > Cipher (Can choose to pick ground support mission variants, can choose not to. Merc Cipher shows great destructive potential, Knight Cipher precision and Soldier Cipher extreme autism to make sure that exactly half of the yellow targets died and the other half survived) > Blaze (excellent at ammo preservation, maybe did Four Horsemen and Reprisal) > Trigger (7's dronespam means lack of A2G missions, but good showing at Anchorhead Raid) > Monarch (has no real standout moments of groundpounding)
(1/2)
>>531421538>>531437261Anti-Superweapon - Blaze (If including SOLG tunnel run) > Trigger (Arsenal Birds + Super Scinfaxi Alicorn) > Blaze (Arkbird and Scinfaxi had outside help, SOLG was basically a sitting duck but Hrinfaxi was a genuine kill) > Cipher (Excalibur was more threatening up close than Stonehenge) > Mobius One >Monarch (Blew up some railgun turrets, airships and landships I guess)
Tunnel Run - Blaze (if including SOLG tunnel run) > Trigger (genuinely broke physics going up the windbreak, had to duel hyper maneuverable drone) > Blaze (long tunnel, had to fight a fifth gen aircraft, avoid crashing into Bartlet) > Mobius One/Cipher (Think Avalon and Megalith are roughly equal) > Monarch (only has one, is optional, not that long)
Leadership - Blaze (Razgriz squadron as a whole is given focus as protag, presence is very war changing) > Mobius/Trigger (neither give orders to wingmen, but both have missions near their end exemplifying how insiring they are) > Cipher (Gives orders to Pixy. Pixy uses betrayal. PJ tries to follow up, but doesn't really measure up to Pixy. Missions near the end, like Valley of Kings does show that suicidal bravery is inspired however) > Monarch (doesn't even have a multiplayer mode to order around other people, never really gains love of Cascadian forces, though I guess there is Conquest)
Also, depends on which plane they're using (The best one from their respective game, their cover plane, the worst one/starting from their respective game etc.), where they're fighting, and a lot of other factors probably
(2/2)

The thing that confuses me about the KF-21 is that they went for caret intakes like the F-22, rather than Diverterless Supersonic Inlets. You don't want DSI's if you want to go above Mach 2 but KF-21 is only specified for up to Mach 1.8 (Makes sense considering it uses licensed Super Hornet engines), so they would have worked fine. They're stealthier and lighter too.

I think the late '60s is my preferred period for a Cold War-era prequel. Era appropriate planes range from late 1st gens (eg. MiG-17) to early prototype 4th gens (the F-14A's first flight was in 1970) for endgame superplanes, with everything in a hypothetical roster being able to take a pair of STDMs for gameplay purposes. This timeframe gives us the Century series, the Vietnam collection, and plenty of bespoke unique shit at all levels of the tech tree like the CF-105, TSR-2, La-250, XF-108, Tu-128, and A-12/YF-12.
>>531524656> The Services and the Department of Defense were shocked by the poor missile performance - pre-war operational tests predicted that the AIM-9 was expected to hit 65% of the time. Another thing I don't like about 0 is that Excalibre and XB-0, the two midgame superweapons, are thrown at you without any forewarning. Here's this gargantuan skyscraper with a laser on top that shoots at you the mission before it's revealed, and here's this huge gunship whose existence is only hinted at by a gigantic empty hangar the mission before. Stonehenge and Arkbird have a lot building up to them at least. Hopefully either 6 or 7 have better pacing.
>>531530374It makes sense
Excalibur had a very limited range so it wasn't a problem for any of your operations until that point. Your being paid to fight not keep up with enemy static weapons.

>>531539431Anon, that post is responding about the Sidewinders. The early version.
USAF higher ups are idiots who think missiles turn guns obsolete and then get assfucked once the heavy, gunless F-4s got shot down by Fishbeds
>>531539881The presence or absence of guns had far less of an effect on the Phantom's performance than did tactics and training. See the USN's K:D before and after TOPGUN was founded despite flying gunless Phantoms throughout all of Vietnam.
>>531524656>>531527309At least some of the poor performance of early Sidewinders can be attributed to bad maintenance practices. Missiles would be stored in poor conditions, reused for multiple sorties if unfired without any inspection in between uses, etc. For a time, ground crews would also treat them like older unguided rockets such as HVARs, doing things such as hammering on fins to align them. In the thick of an engagement with my head twisting and turning, trying to keep track of friend and foe, I'd forget which of the four I had (already) selected and couldn't tell which of the remaining was perking and which head was already expiring on its launch rail. Twice upon returning to base I had the tech rep go over the switchology and firing sequences. >>531652181>And during that stuido set up time they also had to work on the Switch port of 7That was outsourced to Future Tech Lab and Akashic Records actually. If anyone from BNA worked on it then it would've just been the head producers.
AC8 better have branching missions like ACX. It's fun to decide your own path
>>531653096>branching story and at least two or three different endings>wingman commands like 5>pilot style/reputation like 0 that has some influence on how the campaign develops, even if it's nothing majorAll things that would massively contribute to replayability and staying power. I love AC7 but it felt really constrained, which I can forgive, but I hope they'll try to go a bit wilder with 8

I got to thinking maybe its a bug they never caught with Chopper on this mission
F-15C & MTD gear stays down until Pops takes off I'll try one more time with a different plane think I'll try with Gripen and see if its any plane or something odd with the Eagles.
Ok that would be a yes Chopper has a gear bug that only last until Pops takes off. If you want silly pictures or video of jets fighting gear down just give it to Chopper.
>>531652761we really reached the peak and then threw it all away huh...
Ok I had forgot Pop's plane stays on the map after he takes to the air it just doesn't show up on radar nor does it have a green square around it. I remembered that when I flew right by his plane and heard the sound of props.

The journey begins
Starts from within
Things that I need to know
The song of the bird
Echoed in words
Flying for the need to fly
Thoughts endless in flight
Day turns to night
Questions you ask your soul
Which way do I go?
How fast is too slow?
The journey has its time, then ends.
If a man can fly over an ocean
And no mountains can get in his way
WILL HE FLY ON FOREVER
SEARCHING FOR SOMETHING TO BELIEVE IN
FROM ABOVE I CAN SEE THE HEAVENS
DOWN BELOW I SEE THE STORM RAGING ON
AND SOMEWHERE IN THE ANSWER
THERE IS A HOPE TO CARRY ON
When I finally return
Things that I learn
Carry me back to home
The thoughts that I feed
Planting a seed
With time will begin to grow
The more that I try
The more that I fly
The answer in itself will be there
