The checking thing really annoys me, it makes sense to me that we can check our deck at any reasonable moment provided we shuffle it.

Fellows is great. Everything else besides Junk Warrior Extreme needs further follow-up but has promise. JWE could become useful as a plan B, but it's gonna need quite a bit more set-up for that.

Now that we have the correct translations:
Extreme's "nerf" isn't that bad, it was always meant to be a finisher so who cares. Card is fine and very flavorful for Scrap Fisting. Full Speed Warrior is good but there's no way to SS it and activate the search, we need to see the cards to judge it properly. Same with Quillbolt, it isn't any better than the OG Quillbolt, but there'll be something in the remaining reveals that explains why it's a quick eff on the opponents turn (accel synchro/on summon triggers for something else).
The only standalone good card is Fellows. Last night it seemed like meh Tuning with an extra NS but now that it actually grabs 2 I can respect it as a proper ditch + search 2 card, it even does the discard after as part of the eff so it isn't killing you to get Ashed. I wish Yusei had some from hand SS extenders but the extra NS eff somewhat helps.

That one isn't a narrative, just look through the years at the usability of anime decks in the real game.
They sell you Dark Magician / Shining Sarcophagus cardboard at premium price but they absolutely don't intend it to be Meta. And even if it became Meta now, it's 25 years too late.
Do you think they're honestly trying to make it good and are just bad at designing cards? Perhaps. Perhaps they left the design to their B or C team, because they DO have people printing the new Meta decks every 6 months or so, and those know how to make it busted.


Konami can fix whatever they want, they have an omnipotent printer.
Just check Pic related. I was googling opinions on the Metalmorph archetype when it originally released and found one guy saying they should make a REBD retrain that allowed you to play Metalmorph the same turn they're set, because that's what the deck would need to be strong.
Cue people mocking it, with the absolute top comment saying how ridiculous that is and if that Konami intended for that, they'd have made it that way.... A year later, that's exactly the card Konami crested. So they can do whatever absurd solution we can think of to fix a deck.

With that said, they absolutely know how to make fancards real and make DM, Toons, Neo-Spacians, E-Heroes, Ojama, Armed Dragon, Cydra, Utopia, Galaxy Eyes, etc.. meta but they just dislike the anime and always keep those cards a notch below the meta except for BEWD and Yubel (FOR A LIMITED TIME, they were "Meta" but their cards were the quickest to fall off, 4 months later and BEWD is considered on its way out due to powercreep while Mitsurugi, Maliss, Vanquish K9 or Ryzeal are actual monsters that will only be taken out by the banlist)

Junk Speeder/negate turbo Yuseipile is miserable, there has never been a single format in the game's history where it existed and wasn't a worse pick than (other combo deck that loses to the same HT). It's too early to be disappointed or overexcited for the SD, all you can do with the revealed maindeck stuff is extend. We're yet to find out if there's a yusei Crimson Gaia or Scrap Iron Red Zone that shakes up the playstyle, or if it's Tard Speeder Turbo for the rest of the game's history.

RDA slop is better but from what I've played against them they're still reliant on Crimson Resonator.
Morphtronic, from what I can see, can barely set up their own plays. Telefon is genuinely one of the most broken legacy support cards ive ever seen but it's mostly because of Dice cards.
Rose Dragons... I don't know what they actually do, never seen anyone play a dedicated list for them. Otherwise I don't think they actually have an endboard.
AFD as a deck is just a worse Bagooska. They don't even interact with AFD in any meaningful way like they're afraid AFD is gonna get put back on the banlist any minute and they might have to make a non-effect retrain at the last minute.
T.G. from what I've played mostly relies pretty hard on other decks to get started. Has the same issue of a very specific card getting negated killing the combo. Consistent but very frail. Good at setting up a QP Chaos Angel or Satellite Warrior, but currently it's a worse Centur-ion.

there's many ways to play this deck (i like magikey impcantation and libromancer dogmatika slops) but as always the best build is the one that copes the hardest.
