There are strategies where this is optimal, yes - an old commision strategy just uses 4 characters to keep spamming Iori's EX without clogging up the cards.
The energy reduction is notable though, I don't think it's worth it in most content - you're often better running a striker with a cheap but useless EX (It's the reason Asuna isn't complete ass) and just using that character to cycle for cheap since they're still contributing auto attack damage etc and the 2 cost ex vs reduced energy is close enough.

You can buy characters with hard mode shards, you don't need to roll them. The same applies to character shards in all of the shops except for Permits.
You can NOT redeem characters with shards from the Expert Permit shop. Those are limited characters that you need to roll, the shop just cuts down on dupe dependency.

Recently they tried changing it to "heh heh" which really misses the point of the original laugh being unusual and silly at times. Which ends up mattering a lot in volume 1 Ch3. Translators shoot themselves in the foot changing or removing character quirks only for that quirk to be important later on

Also Shiroko is supposed to say "Nn" at the beginning of basically every sentence, which becomes important later on but global kinda removed it and they realized too late to fix it.
Lotta the fuck ups are just them changing character laughs or removing character quirks which end up oddly important for the characterization later on.

This is the only gacha game though that has an online form you can email about translation or localization fuck ups, and 90% of the time they will fix things after their fuck ups. Unlike other gacha games they're basically always trying to correct the translation in small ways. If you hammer them about it they'll even remove the localization on stuff. They used to have a huge issue removing anything even vaguely romantic between students and sensei but they haven't had any issues with it in awhile. The translation you see now is the product of fans sending in a lot of tickets trying to work with the translators.

Events and momos are all canon and the story benefits from having consumed everything, though I think the momos are limited to eastereggs and callbacks. It's nice though, there are momotalks from one character that mention the music tastes of another in passing and are then referenced in an event years later. I just finished v2c2. I skipped some events because I was eager to see my daughteru Aris again.
I'm not the anon who writes the detailed reviews, so I'll just say a couple things.
I still love Aris, she's the best kid in the game, even if she isn't human. The ending was super cute, I love Neru now, and Toki is so much better than the other maids it's not even funny. I shall roll for all of them.
I hated Rio at the start for taking away my precious cinammon roll, but she wasn't that bad. I feel bad for her, as long as she doesn't do something dumb again I forgib her.
Overall, it was great, they tried to add some higher stakes but it didn't work for me, and I find the bit with Aris towards the end a bit dumb, are we Digimon now? 8/10.

I went to public school and took a lot of remedial classes because I was not a smart kid. Based on the kind of behavior I saw out of the kids there, I think it is entirely reasonable to hate certain students.

After going through some of volume 3, I think I'm starting to understand the overall statement of this game. Basically, these girls, no matter what they do on the surface, are ultimately innocent beings. Only adults can be truly evil. And Sensei is basically a Jesus-esque figure who wants to shoulder the sins and pain of his students (all students in Kivotos) so they could live their lives in peace and happiness. If you get angry at the girls or grow spiteful, you fail in your role as their shepherd. And the game challenges you at that - the girls make mistakes, they put you and themselves in difficult situations with their childishness. Aru blows up a building and even takes full credit for it. Any other protagonist would knock her out in a stereotypical boss battle, but Sensei sees the good in her and wants to stand by her side no matter what happens. And he's right. The girls that come after her are put in the same situations; they're just way smarter than her, so it becomes far less obvious. But that unflinching belief must always be there - carry that weight for the students, and they will respond with unconditional love.

I'll chime in here. VGLco (more specifically the aesthetics team) contributes a lot of the technical and logistical work to get any invitational going. That includes streaming, cytube, emotes, making the final aesthetics packs, tactics nightlies, etc.

It's not impossible for /bag/ to do its own thing but logistically it's rather hard.

Speaking from experience when I signed up to do the first Kivotos Cup, there's a steep learning curve to make a team and then manage it. Even as /bag/'s full time manager, I am still learning the tricks of the trade. I did make mention that aesthetics of the team are transferable between cups but if anyone wants to do anything new or unique that isn't just copy pasting the old stuff, you'll want a lot of help.

And then you have things like team stadiums, the PV video, the final boss, etc. that were all made by VGLco's aesthetics group.
