Quest Mage (spells) is the most fun deck in years sometimes you've got to give Blizzard props. I even beat a Murloc Paladin with it so its not that bad. The flow is especially fun doesn't feel like I am wasting turns to wait for some payoff.

Most things are fine honestly, the only nerf we absolutely need is Loh and we need it ASAP (Quest Paladin is fine, it simply counters durdle do nothing removal vomit decks, and therefore will be nerfed regardless because redditors are seething). There are two secrets that actually cuck control players from stopping you, Counter Spell and Ice Trap. There are 9 secrets in the game. If someone slaps the dude down and you actually need to play a big removal spell, just fucking rip it, there's less then a 25% chance it'll get blocked. Same with the number of punishes for an opponent on board trading into your minions, with Freezing and Oasis. It's a fucking garbage card that only works because people are afraid to look stupid playing into it, but it's almost always the objectively correct play unless you're so far ahead that you can pass the turn and still be ensured to win the game.

It's not 2023, anon. They are not chaining multiple effects together on turn 5 to try and stop you, outside of a single meme combo from DK in pyro+breath, it's a singular card and the odds of disrupting that are less then 25% at best, assuming it's a spell, and 11% for explosive runes to cuck the armor starship piece. You have the same odds of cucking their spells as you do getting things that do objectively nothing like ice armor and explosive trap. The reason it works is because you have midwits like >>530710008
who think they're making the next level play of taking a losing line to avoid the secrets instead of calling the bluff unless they're so far ahead that they can't lose. It has slightly better odds of protecting your board and getting you some tempo in an aggro vs aggro matchup since the cards are cheap enough that they might be doing multiple things, but then you're playing a 3 mana 2/2 so even one good secret is almost never worth it.

The fact that it's 3 mana also makes it suck and be awkward. A 4 mana disruption card to try and protect your board going into the jug turn would be way more valuable, but you either need to draw and save a one drop, or you're playing it too early and they can clear on the subsequent turn before you can cash out the jug damage, you're going second and saving the coin to drop the jug which means you're lacking early game pressure, or you float a mana as an aggro deck and develop nothing but a 2/2 on turn 4.

I can't tell if this is the best expansion launch, I've ever experienced or if I am just finally getting hyped about their quality assurance and awesome direction. This expansion even got a nice trailer and song, I really missed those.

11 out of 11 quests are entirely playable. The entire meta isn’t warped around getting under Murloc Paladin and incredibly aggressive. We also didn’t get another scam deck that will get nerfed for its play patterns. Why would they print cards that encourage that stuff anyway? I honestly know how the expansion launched with these cards in this state (the devs rule, that’s why)

I looked at the viable decks and I honestly want to play all of them.

Fishing Preist? Multiple menagerie jug decks? Loh Bargain Druid? Cycle Rogue? I want to play these decks. They have flavor. They seem fun. Something new or old has spawned as something interesting from this set for me.

-exciting “random-rewards”-based feature to keep you on the edge of your seat for the long, epic journey to unlocking King Krush

-a game board that changes every expansion (and if you want to buy any of the $80 hero skins, such a bargain btw, you get more board features too!) ;)

You absolutely do fucking not outside of being presented with edge cases where you're deciding between two viable lines for your deck. Draw and tutor is far too high compared to how it used to be, and as a result, decks are way too fucking consistent at doing the things they set out to do. You play your gameplan as fast as you can and pray that you can beat the other guy's. If you're aggro, you throw everything face because lifegain and removal are insanely strong and as such there is no point in trying to squeeze any value out that could be tempo/burn. If you're a combo deck, you just dig as fast as you can because you don't have to worry about getting chipped out by anything other then dedicated aggro decks. If you're a control deck, you don't even bother fighting for the board and just dig for your guaranteed clears because they actually clear the board unlike what it used to be.

Oh, and I should say that to climb, all you have to do is not throw won games and play a deck that has a good matchup spread against what everyone else is playing. Matchups are far too polarized, as a result of decks being consistent, for you to squeeze out more then a percentage point or two by actually considering what your opponent is going to do instead of playing the best green card for your gameplan and conceding if they have the answer because any sort of slowdown to your own gameplan means that the other guy has a chance to execute his and that's very often a losing line.

If you want consistent, go play a fucking singleplayer game because that's what you're doing. When draw, discover, and tutor were expensive effects you paid heavily for with tempo, they didn't always have every card they need and you have to execute your gameplan before they locked you out. Compare fucking Shirvallah Paladin's gameplay of having to balance out removal, lifegain, and drawing cards, with Garrote or Cycle Rogue where they just try to get the combo off before they die. Compare classic Control Warrior where you could play around their removal by going tall to avoid getting punished by Brawl on 5 to Corpse Explosion, and how many minions it would play that gave the opposing player the choice between protecting an important minion with a trade vs pushing face, which had all the wrinkles of thinking about what removal you're playing around in conjunction with the trade. Compare fucking Highlander Hunter where King Krush on 7 dealing 8 and remaining a threat was enough to make a highlander midrange deck viable whereas now that would tickle any control deck. Compare Zoo lock's plan to win board and then use tempo to take value trades and chip you down vs modern aggro decks where the goal is to stick random fucking minions so you can deal 12 from hand with jug.

Draw and tutor is fucking on every card and every archtype now, so people like yourself don't have to learn how to cludge together a win without having the right answers at the right time but instead figuring out how to have the good enough ones for this situation.
