It can be hard to know if the extrapolations made are valid or not given that I have not read the paper or know much about the area being discussed. You would expect that if a lot of studies are being examined you should be able to make qualitative assesments because each quantitative study can basically serve as if it were one qualitative data point. So if you have at least 9-17 studies being analysed in the meta-analysis I think there's a case to be made that the they can function in a qualitative function. Haven't done this myself but it's a fascinating question.

No. I'm mainly a qualitative researcher and if you're doing a thorough job you'll notice things that are relevant because they are not brought up, as an example. Sometimes you just fucked up the scope of the study and just have to mention it in the discussion section that the study didn't include X variable that would have been nice to examine because in your lit review that would probably be important. Basically, if you're not measuring for something that you know would correlate, do you just not bring it up? No but you'll still need to cite something else that shows some sort of correlation to be able to make that observation (if the research/data even exists).

Everything you said was valid but that's actually the hill that I died on when it came to whether or not I'd continue playing Limbus. MDs are massively boring and each run ends up fuctionally the same, with no thinking involved at all. I just couldn't bring myself to do a barrage of MDs to get a single ID or EGO. Doing dozens of times is just insanity. If there were skips I would have still been "playing" the game and spending money on it. Sorry but MD farming simply wasn't a good way to spend my time, regardless of the reward at the end of the grind. Also, MDs are pretty much the only thing the game has to offer on a daily/weekly basis.

The philosophy of science isn't lost it's just that the there aren't quite as rigorous checks and balances to the science as one might expect. Again, science is all about getting that one big artical or study and then you can either get comfy teaching position or do speaking tours and ride that wave of conflict of interest.
Answer me this: why should a post-doc bother with replication studies if it doesn't further their career? They've already done a PhD where they were basically the college's "cum dump" where you take all the shitty jobs such as teaching and helping others do their studies and you are likely paying for the privilage to get fucked. The hypocrisy in psychology is pretty jarring, too. Codes of ethics and the likes are established so you can't do harm or distress participants. All of these precautions on a field that was created off the back of entirely unethical studies. In some case the foundational studies (Zimbardo's experiemnt) can't be replicated to see if they're falsifiable and new studies cannot be conducted so we can't make large advances in the field.

My main issue with MD is KJH keeps iterating on it but somehow keeps doing worse to try and freshen the mode up - he should just stick with one goddamn thing and tackle things to make the grind easier, but alas, that's the crux of gacha games.
They are built and designed on the premise that every day you miss out is "permanent" account damage.
The thing is, the moment you take a break from a gacha, any gacha, just once, the daily fomo and all of that gets forgotten in like 2 days at best.
I do my weekly run, I have dabbled with a couple extra normal runs to try the new IDs that were added compared to what was back then, but I'm like 4000 crates down if I tried to play catchup without even taking into account threads, EXP, and extra shards for UTing.

You are right that it would suck balls because you might commit to burn early and then every good ID you get is charge and you get fucked. I just want some variety from the game mode as things are too static. Floors 1-3 are easy and by the time you get to 4-5 you should already have synergy with whatever team your running so you'll steamroll everything regardless if it's the likes of Kim vs sinking. Definitely one of the worst roguelites I have played. The ones from Hoyo games were just as bad, maybe a bit worse but at least those games had content outside of that.

The thing is, they're all chores. You cannot have a live service game that needs to handle periodic rewards out without content being labeled as chore. There is no game that does "chore" content right and most likely there will never be - nobody wants to deal with a new chore every week, they want consistent and steady.
I've enjoyed IS a lot when I still played AK, but if I had to do it weekly I'd probably have quit far earlier than I did. It's fun because it's a mode you can tackle on your own time, it wouldn't be if it fell into the chore category.
The bigger issue is that the game lacks other content to "play". It's either do more MD, or just play an actual game. It's why the big chink casinos are running on a very strict 30-40 days cycle, and even they fall into the no content doomposting 3 days into a patch because you get 3 hours of cutscenes and you're back to 2 minute dailies. (and the weekly chores)

Yes, I completely agree. It's a tough task to balance making repeatable content (dailies/weeklies) that aren't chores but are also meaningful enough that people don't quit because they forget about the game. Ultimately for me it comes down to how big of a chore the game is to clear dailies/weeklies and how long it takes until energy is full again. For a few examples:
Arknights was a chore to do daily shit. There's no need for me to watch as the stage autos (and seethe if the auto somehow breaks), the base was a massive chore that had you log it at least twice a day to fix it. Some smaller issues too. My favourite gacha but I quit when I seen that they have an auto feature but it was only for annihilation.
Sword of Convallaria was extremely fun but I had like 20 things to do each fucking day. Didn;t last.
Star Rail is actually pretty good about dailies and weeklies (hate the roguelite there, too) but the hp bloat and constant new relic sets made me drop it as my mono-quantum team quickly became a meme.
Uma Musume is in the honeymoon period atm but people will realise that clearing dailies take a long time and I don't want that. Imagine having to do like 4 MDNs each day just to use up your energy. Fuck that.
Pick Blue Archive up again like 2 days ago and there's a lot of things to get through each day but everything is super fast so I think I can last with it quite a while. I really love the progression system in these games, though it feels a little slower than Priconne, which isn't such a great thing.

I partially get why they would try to make different version - and it's to try and ease the chore of the mode. By giving you a fresh look on it hopefully they do it well that people don't complain but well here we are.
As far as adding other modes, I honestly don't know. "PvP" where you field a team and they turn on winrate by default and you autobattle someone else as envy peccatulum and you can choose strategies like "Focus on staggers" "Save resources for WAW EGO" "Prioritize EGO spam" "Prioritize Res/A-RES". Doing 10 matches would let you claim 1 weekly bonus and they could add shit like EXP, threads, universal shards etc that you can grind for.
Some type of revamped RR/MD faster paced infinite mode where you're shown theme packs pre-selected by the game and have to build a proper team to tackle the little gauntlet. Winning the first "floor" would let you claim one weekly bonus and 1 more for each subsequent gauntlet.

King Binds is both restricted and protected by the binds and his healthpool is shared with the Envy Peccatula that precede him. He is literally tied to his duties and cutting off those shackles would kill him.

As you said, there isn't a monetary incentive for this sort of thing. Well it's just dumb as fuck to want to get into academia. You have to fight for extremely limited tenured positions (that are almost impossible to lose for whatever reason) when you could be an accountant and earn more than a PhD with potentially no degree. In my country I basically have to pay to do a PhD (17% chance to get paid by the government) and to qualify it has to be full-time. A universal basic income would actually be very interesting but that'll never happen.

I hear engineering is one of the hardest subjects (and most respected). I will say that having psycho qualifications (more than just a degree) rocks because you can work in basically any field to some capacity. At the same time knowing how to create and administer surveys is absolutely massive both for companies you might work for and for yourself if you create a business or something because you save on psychologist costs.

The only real countermeasures is either throwing another E.G.O user at it, a distortion or an abnormality at the target. The thing getting thrown at the target needs to be resistant to the E.G.Os damage type and and has to hit with an affinity which the foe with E.G.O is weak to... So, most of the time you are not going to know any of this or not have the right one.
Also, if N. Corp and even LC has E.G.O, then The Head 100% has their own too already as its been stated that they have access to every tech from every Wing. Does make me wonder if the LobCorp branch facilities across A, B and C Corp are still being run, but by them now.
