Out of curiosity, you decide to read it and end up finding out that hypnosis was used to engineer her current personality.
Suddenly, she walks into the storage room and starts degrading you, making fun of your clothes and menial job. Trying to ignore her, you find an "activation" codeword and read it aloud to yourself.
The moment the words leave your lips, her mockery ceases and she just stands there in a trance, dead-eyed and drooling.
What now?
Unironically the comic just needs a creative plot that is not tied to any previous plots and /sthg/ will probably start praising it.

We've got so many "not so bad guy turns good" and no "not so bad guy turns into an absolute monster" yet, fix it.

This was the first bit of worldbuilding from IDW that I actually found a bit interesting, and it only took 78 issues.

Now i don't have a good knowledge of the american industry but here in italy comic books are self-contained stories, each issue has the same components, for example pic related has the crime, the heist, the investigation, the resolve and the ending. Still has a canon but no need to read any previous issues, people have no time and can't be attracted by building hype around here.
So yeah, what if instead of long arcs you get a fast delivery of what you want? Or is it a dead concept in america that can't work anymore?
