Should I focus on leveling up my zealot more than my veteran? I'm trying to make my build a close range crowd controller that can fuck up a boss too like in VT2. i have finally played the 3rd Verminous Dreams map, i enjoyed it, the spotlight bit was pretty cool
i wonder what they'll do with the story, hopefully they don't fuck it up. if there is a VT3 i'm expecting there will be an end mission like Waylaid in VT1
however, since the combat guy left Fatshark and supposedly some other devs too, and even though the content and balance updates for VT2 have been good, i am a little worried about the future and a potential Vermintide 3. shopclick doesn't exactly inspire confidence

Both veterans and Arbites just generate their own grenades. Zealot uses knives, and psyker doesn't have any.

Both are good for ogryn. I prefer to use my fragbombs more proactively than just as a O-shit button because I know I'm gonna be the one taking the grenades anyway.

Take my advice, if youre gonna use the party finder, accept that you will most likely lose, and add the good players and make a team with them eventually. Im shy and didnt do that, so I lost SO MANY ranks from playing with randoms. And I know it sounds like bullshit but I promise to you I was MVP in most of those games. A single bad player can entirely fuck over everyone, unless youre godlike at the game and can carry high havoc somehow. The RNG on those missions can be insane. Even then you should probably just find a LFG group. I only managed to reach 40 by playing on discord LFGs and they are usually people that could match my scoreboard. Im convinced most of the good players arent pubbing

Dog bleed did indeed cause Canine Morale and other "on pounced enemy kill" talents to fail to proc. I checked when bleed damage was bugged and it got even worse. I haven't checked since the hotfix but it's either the case that extremely reduced bleed damage makes it less likely, or they fixed it.

Level variant dependent, same spot each time though. Most of them are jumping puzzles, plugging in a power cell, or finding a key then backtracking. You get material for first pick up and more material when picked up if someone in your party hasn't got it yet. More likely the case is that all the good coders got put into making that unnamed unreal engine project.
And the Darktide got left with half a skeleton crew to just maintain the game while making occasional premium slop and balance patches for the game. It explains why we are only getting 4 MAJOR updates this year.
And 1st update this year was fatshark reworking ogryn and bringing it to the same level as other classes, and at the same time they added a half baked game mode in the form of Mortis.
2nd update we have gotten this year was just fatshark fucking up the mission terminal and making it and progression worse. And no, I don't consider paid DLC as part of the "update".

If the trend continues I have a feeling that the 3rd and 4th updates this year will also just be fatshark reworking dumbshit systems, like the Commissary for example. And maybe we get couple of new weapons for all classes and a new map, but that's probably in December at worst.

Dump the combat ability nodes and the keystone 25% strength, pick up Soulguilt Scan, The Emperor's Fist, and that dog hunts ranged enemies node you wanted.

I'd drop Weight of the Lex and pick up Soulguilt Scans since strength bonuses are multiplicative to other sources of bonus damage. Running dog without bleed pounce is passing up a decent amount of free damage even after the fix+nerf, so consider swapping Hammer of Judgement to No Escape and grabbing Razor Jaws. You should also consider swapping auras to the dog coherency +DR one and picking up Imposing Force. Concussive is fairly redundant if you're running with one of the Arbites weaps, and dropping it frees up a point. Leave True Grit in if you want, but if you feel inclined to drop it, then consider Engage, Canine Morale, Weight of the Lex, or Hammer of Judgement. Also, if this is an Auric build, Target the Weak likely won't change (m)any breakpoints since stuff dies so quickly anyway, but test that yourself. It IS a good source of damage that won't stack additively with all the other normal +damage options in the talent tree, and I do run it in my Havoc builds.

Alternatively, dropping the dog entirely and going all in on LW+Forceful is a strong option. But Arbites has so much damage that you can afford to trade a little bit to turn the dog into an AOE bleed machine that'll help thin out mass.
That said, I don't really bother testing breakpoints as Arby, so if you really want to minmax, you'll have to play around with shit on your own.

You just bought something until it had the stats you wanted, and you'd take it to Hadron and upgrade it hoping you got at least one good perk and one good blessing because you could only change one of each, so if you got two dog shit perks and two dog shit blessing you could swap one of each out but then you were stuck with one shit perks and one shit blessing. The current system is pretty much a pre-requisite for adding the more difficult modes like aurics and havocs. The previous system was entirely random, every aspect, from your stat distro, perks, and blessings. There was no way to influence anything about the process, other than buying grey weapons with good stats and praying they didn't roll bad blessings and perks when you upgraded them.
The current loot system where you can spam buy greys from brunt (oh, that wasn't in originally, as well. You had to pray the hourly shop rotation had worthwhile base items to even TRY gambling on with upgrades) and craft exactly what you want for not much time investment has it's issues, but overall It's made the game a lot more fun and less frustrating. I can experiment as much as I want with builds now.

I also haven't played the game in nearly two years so it's kind of set me up for failure coming back to the most overpowered class ever. I think that back when veteran was overpowered it wasn't even this bad. Not only are you completely invincible, but you also have a heatseeking missile on command that will rape gunners or poxwalkies about to backstab you, and extremely strong weapons in both melee and ranged. I wanted to try playing havocs for the first time but it feels like I'm cheating if I do it with Arbitrator since it's basically a set of training wheels.

Havoc until 11 is heresy and until 16 it's malice
You basically can't experience havoc until you get to 21
And if you try joining havoc 20+ parties with arbites it will be one of the following
1. You get rejected because nobody wants more arbites
2. You get accepted by in a party that accepts everyone so they will rush forward until they spawn 4-5 bosses and everyone dies
Realistically you can't get into havoc with arbites at all unless you host, which you can't do it you haven't played it before

Stamina lets you run for longer and lets you block for longer. So it's good in that.
Currently the "meta" for human classes is 2 toughness and 1 stamina curio.
Toughness is preferred because it's the thing that prevents you from dying and you can constantly replenish it by using the toughness regen talents, like smash 'em and best defence on ogryn.
And having high toughness is good because enemy attacks always take away a flat amount of toughness from you. Like say you have 100 toughness and a poxwalker hits you and hits you for 10, well now you have 90 toughness left. But if you had 200 toughness the poxwalker would still only take away 10 toughness, leaving you with 190 toughness.

And toughness is also good because all toughness regen perks are % based, so it doesn't matter if you have 100 or 200 toughness because you will regenerate the toughness at the same rate. Like how ogryn's smash em and best defence both let him regenerate 15% toughess on heavy attack.

The important part is that too ghness is not extra hp
If you don't have 100% toughness, but say, 70% toughness, from melee hit the damage will be distributed as 70% toughness damage 30% health damage. That's why yellow toughness is so important, it lets you go over 100% and take extra hits without taking health damage.
If you have toughness but it's lower than 100%, you are not immune to health damage.

It actually feels like zealot is broken and takes bonus toughness damage or possibly that arbitrator is broken and has some hidden toughness damage resist not available to other classes. It's actually made me reinstall shadowplay to figure out what the fuck is even happening at times when I go from full toughness and HP to activating Until Death in the span of a few frames.

Have you considered that zealots toughness starts at 85 (base + one unscippable node) and arbitrator starts at 125 toughness? Plus arbitrator nodes are overpowered and you end up sitting at 200 toughness without even trying.

I think the most fucked up thing ever is the fact that, in random quick play or maelstrom games, on psyker, I have more success running max health than toughness. And it's usually for the SINGULAR reason that some fucking retard will always shoot poxbursters in my face, which instantly downs a baseline psyker that has taken any chip. Which then of course quickly spirals into a wipe because the only good player just went down.
I think that, past a certain point, having more toughness doesn't even necessarily help you that much if you're already used to having very little toughness. While it's true that having a bigger pool to regenerate a percentage of is objectively stronger, auric randos are more likely to kill you with a burster, than a good player is likely to eat shit to an unexpected gunner.

None of this applies to havoc obviously, where health won't fucking save you.
