One of the "dramas" about the story back at launch in china was that yangyang said the vanguard only has to think about combat while the rearguard has to think about lots of different things like logistics and strategy. One of the biggest issues Iโve noticed with the story is the lack of build-up and connection. Take 2.0 for example. Phrolova was a really weak villain, mainly due to her lack of screen time and narrative presence. She wasnโt even given the benefit of subtle foreshadowing or any kind of slow-burn allure. She just kind of popped up in Chapter 2 and then disappeared just as abruptly.
It felt incredibly disconnected, especially coming after the HSR 2.X main story, which I personally found to be a 10 out of 10 in terms of structure and delivery.
I really wish 2.4 had stronger ties to 2.2. Even just a tease or hint at the end of 2.2 could have gone a long way. As it stands, 2.4 felt more like a standalone character story than a continuation of the main quest, and that lack of cohesion is disappointing, they could and should have worked better on the different timeline/story/play they were doing it.
They never gave us the cameltoe back, bros...
