All villagers are semitic.
>>530805023farmers are clearly black-coded in how they toil the fields for free for me just so I can trade the produce for emeralds
>>530805957If they were black coded you wouldn't have to pay, though
>>530806776They put the stuff in their inventory and drop them in a hopper when they go talk to their friend next to the farm, it all ends up in my chest
>>530790749The windows being small and pokey is supposed to be truer to the inspiration. Small rooms, low ceilings, gloomy but cosy.
>>530790803It's concrete powder, supposed to look similar to the irl texture of the ochre limewash on the building.
>>530791759Thanks for the input, but how can you say picrel is ugly?
>>530792841I'm experimenting at the moment. I'm just figuring out basic palette and form things right now
>>530794487Interesting attempt, but I wasn't trying to make a perfect 1:1 copy. More trying to capture the feel or vibe of the place in a Minecrafty sort of way
>>530811127You might be able to get away with some red sand in the walls. Those buildings are pretty spotty, especially toward the bottom
I've finally come to terms with Jappa's textures being better
>>530790102>>530811127Classic style build but the concrete powder isn't really working. Maybe try yellow wool or even yellow terracotta? Smooth concrete would be the right color, but a little too smooth.
>>530794487Get the random blocks out of there. It looks awful. I don't how Minecraft Youtubers convinced everyone to ignore their own eyes and make their builds look completely ass, but it needs to stop.
damn minecraft Steev look like that?

>end update
Just give us the Aether dimension already you fruity fucks.
Imagine if they shadow dropped a relatively stable 1.22 snapshot with all the features, so you can experience it without getting spoiled.
>>530831920I'd rather the end be updated first. I'd also like minecarts, villagers, enchanting, and the combat and hunger systems be reworked first
I don't want the end to be updated. I like that it is a completely barren and hostile world, completely different from both Overworld and Nether.
WindowsXP bros??????
We won't be able to play new Minecraft versions anymore.
>>530836484Switch to Linux
>hire the aether creator
>don't add the aether
What were they thinking?
>>530836484should have switched to windows 7, chud
>>530838894stop asking questions and ride the ghast, chud
>>530838894It would be the perfect place to get use out of the elytra. They are retarded
>>530840429would be good for the Faggy Ghast too
>game has gunpowder
>doesn't have guns
>>530843472it's numojang, there's no way in hell they'd ever call it "black powder" given it's destructive nature and chaotic use in game

>>530811127>>530811912>>530814816Parking the big yellow house for now, but I'm determined to try to do something interesting with the concrete-powder-as-limewash thing. Here's an attempt at a row of colourful houses inspired by what you might find in the Western Isles/Western Highlands.
>>530846451Okay, I *really* like that one. It works incredibly well on a smaller scale. I might straight up have to steal that idea for my world
>>530771384>>530755675Please tell me any long running Minecraft Let's Plays on YT, preferably ones with frequent uploads.
>>530846451It looks really pretty, anon. They're so vibrant, and the concrete powder looks surprisingly good. Its adds a bit of texture, too.
>>530846451gems sick voice makes me randy
>>530846451Why powder? Thinking that the houses are just for show and made of sand makes me uncomfortable, like blockvomit, it's unimmersive
>>530860406all minecraft houses are just for show
Reminder that there are 600 people working at Mojang.
600.
Even if 5% of those people were coders Iโd still be wondering what theyโre fucking doing most of the time.
>>530855029Define "long running".
>>530861130>wondering what theyโre fucking doing most of the time.your mother
>>530861130The majority of those work on stuff other than the main java game.
>>530838894reminds me of zombid on how they hired the guy who was making cohesive NPCs and they made him work on a fishing minigame
>>530861130didn't java straight up have 8 employees
Iโve been playing this world for months now and I still donโt have a home base

>>530860406I would agree with you about shit like dirt blocks in the wall, random granite blocks, 8 million random blocks in the palette. However, I can overlook the powder in this case because I never use it anywhere else, so it doesn't look like 'sand' or 'powder' to me in this context, and doesn't break immersion for me here.

>>530874361i thought the same thing. the fact that everyone refrained from commenting on the correlation makes it worse.
>>530846451Looks a lot better on a smaller scale and next to other colors of concrete powder, like stucco or some other kind of textured paint or plaster style. Makes the builds unified even while being different colors. Really fun and I might have to try it out in my own builds.

Trust the plan.
>>530931760If we get the Blazing Copper update, with copper golems and some variation on copper rails or copper minecarts (or any minecart update, really), I'll actually be impressed with Mojang for once. It would undo a lot of things
>>530921448>>530927080Why would he need to do that? He is already the only person on this site who plays bedrock willingly
>>530907760>>530905756no idea, i don't watch the #MeToo cuckolds
>>530923548It's just that I saw a screenshot where you were holding a map of the overworld in the nether. That's not really going to help you
>>530927080>>530943260If I was abstracting I'd use map art instead of the area outside my house
Anyone else not think the new music is bad, just that most of it doesn't fit in well with the old music?
>>530946195I'm pretty sure that's how most people feel, but then we also have those that think the new Lava Chicken disc is a fine addition
>>530946195I think the majority of new additions in recent years don't fit well with the older things. Feels like Minecraft is turning more and more "bubbly" as time goes on.
>>530861130Honestly, at that point I think the sheer number of people touching the codebase is probably a barrier to getting anything done. If they're operating on Agile like most professional dev teams do, it's probably even worse due to the constant meetings and structuring things to pivot at a moment's notice.
>>530948927Some of them do fit in pretty well like "Infinite Amethyst" and "Watcher"
>>530905756>no mumboI'm thinking he's based
What if there were multiple ways to craft Eyes of Ender that give you the option between multiple different challenges?
>Blaze Powder for a Nether Fortress
>Echo Shard for an Ancient City
>Wind Charge for a Trial Chamber
>Prismarine Shard for an Ocean Monument
This would be more fair than the suggestion that uses all four while still incorporating the newer stuff.
>>530964636I also check r/PhoenixSC at times
>>530964636Or blaze Powder plus one of the other three so the Nether is still mandatory
>>530964636The only difficult part of that recipe is the pearls, so I just don't see the point. But I'd be all for various in-game ways of finding structures and so on, so why not add an item that locates nether fortresses that's made out of something from the overworld? Make some sort of chain, like villager -> ocean monument -> trial chamber -> nether fortress or whatever
>>530964636More ideas
>New item dropped by Piglin Brutes>New item found in Woodland Mansions and/or dropped by Raid captains>New item that can drop when you break a Creaking Heart
midcraft
shitcraft, if you will
Inventory management updates:
>Increase stack size
>Dedicated arrow slot
>>530967474More inventory space would be nice but Mojang would never do that.
I don't think they'd increase stack size either, they'd make the excuse that "stacks being 64 items is too iconic."
Sniffer update
>it can now sniff 2 more flowers
>>530968034The sniffer pisses me off.
I think Mojang rigged the mob votes in favor of whichever option was easiest to implement and/or was the most marketable.
I want material chests that offer larger storage for each ore.
>Stone = +9 slots
>Iron = +18 slots
>Gold = +27 slots
>Diamond = +36 slots
>etc etc
Anyone else think the real reason they won't add vertical slabs is because the codebase is so fucked that it would be impossible?
new slop just dropped
>Swarovski and Minecraft have teamed up to bring the whimsical charm of the Overworld to life. Inspired by the explosive mob, this Minecraft Creeper figurine is made from full-cut crystals to replicate Minecraftโs iconic blocky style. This green menace strikes fear into the hearts of adventurers and builders alike, and no creature or block is safe from its blast. The figurine features 264 facets for a precise finish and black details to recreate the creeperโs iconic face. Give the Minecraft players in your life the gift of safely admiring a creeper up close.
The Lava Chicken music disc is the most blatantly forced feature that's ever been added.
>>530969549Shit makes those new "diverse" default skins look organic.
>>530969549>>530969742I'm not even sure if adding a fucking pride banner pattern would have been more or less out of place at this point
>>530969032>Swarovskithose niggers almost defaulted because the very first EU sanction package against muh Russia forbid jewelry to be sold to Russia or countries in their sphere. They had to let go of 1500 employees and scale down.
Just a fun fact.
>>530944724do people make these by placing all the blocks or do they use some sort of computer program to make it for them
>>530973221Depends on the person. There's also programs that calculates the layout so you don't have to think while placing the blocks
>>530973727that's impressive if they place every block themselves
>>530969032CREEPER OH MAN
!
>>530974735If they do it with Litematica and an external tool it's more like they're roleplaying a 3D printer
>>530883776>Etho! Get your mind out of the gutterWhy does nobody ever knowledge that Pearl also knows what loli means?
>>530973727>>530944724>dithering>>530974735How would that be impressive?
>>530969027Most of the reasons they give for not adding stuff aren't the real reasons. For example, the real reason fireflies weren't added in 1.19 is because 2-pixel mobs were too hard to implement, not because of the "poisonous to frogs" bullshit. That's why they're particles instead of mobs after they were finally added in 1.21.5
>>530969027No, it would be easy, that doesn't make any sense. The problem with implementing vertical slabs is, you have to pick betwen making them their own items separate from slabs, which is could be annoying and doesn't fit in, or placing normal slabs like that, which would make the already confusing directional placing system way more confusing. It's a game design issue.
>>530995268No? It would be easy to implement 2 pixel mobs, although it would be annoying to hit them. Allegedly, performance was a big reason for dropping fireflies.
>TWO(2) pixels is enough to make minecraft's performance piss and shit itself
Seriously, What the fuck is going on at Mojang to let something like this happen?
>>530967753more inventory space wouldn't do anything
you'd just carry even more junk you don't need
>>530996997See, performance is a completely understandable reason to not add them as mobs. So I'm really not sure why they weren't honest about it. Or why they didn't add them as particles back in 1.19.
>>530997874More inventory space would work wonders on big builds and long mining trips.
>>530992820No dithering on map art looks like doo doo
>>530999606>big buildsthe hotbar is the biggest issue there, and I do feel that that needs some sort of improvement
>long mining tripsso it takes about 30 more seconds before you have to dump out all the junk you don't want
filters would be a better way to improve that
>>531006435>his example that looks like it adds a 3 day stubble to a girl to prove his pointDithertards are embarrassing themselves, to no oneโs surprise
Here's my suggestion, remove slabs, stairs. Instead all blocks are secretly a 2x2x2 and you make stairs / slabs by removing some of the sub-blocks. It'll be like that mod that does exactly this, Chisel. Your inventory will be less cluttered because you only have the primary block
>>531013313garbage idea. be ashamed you posted it
I don't care what version they're playing in I refuse to believe Scar couldn't do better than this shit
>>531021541And this is why Microshart can get away with adding the Sniffer and other useless fluff to pad out updates
>build own dungeon with custom trial spawners
>make a piglin brute room
>get obliterated by them immediately
this works just fine
>>530946195I never keep music above 0% past the first launch on an instance because it's not situationaly adaptive. The new main menu music makes me feel "this is what traumatised homosexuals and self-mutilators think children and teenagers want to hear in a block game".
mob grinders are soulless
mob arenas are soul
>>531038041>"this is what traumatised homosexuals and self-mutilators think children and teenagers wantgrim
>>531006435Is this the Minecraft version of using filters in emulators?
>>530998254That was the same update where they tried to pretend they never promised the new birch-forest biome, so they clearly panicked and shit the bed completely with their messaging
>>531006435If you design the map manually, you can get better results. Gimme the original image.
>>531009119>the hotbar is the biggest issue there, and I do feel that that needs some sort of improvementJust add multiple hotbars and let the player scroll between them by holding Alt or something (i.e. not sprint or crouch, since you might want to scroll to switch item during those actions). There are already mods that let you do this by treating each row in your inventory as a hotbar that you can quickly switch to. Helps immensely while building. Mojang could add this with actual hotbars, which would double as also increase the inventory space. Something like a toolbelt or a new enchant for leggings
>>531046927Best I can find
>>531038041Because the old music is somehow more "what children and teenagers want to hear in a block game" than the new music? I think any rational person who hasn't played Minecraft would tell you that Terraria music is much more fitting for that purpose.
And Minecraft music was never really "situationally adaptive", if anything it is now more than ever with biome based music.
>>531046475What do you mean? Dithering is a common practice in retro games.
>>531047757I was more referring to there being two camps; those for and those against
>>531038041You can download a resource pack that removes the new music you know
I keep the minecraft music set to 0 and just play soundtracks from various medieval rpg games in the background
>>531066869I usually watch a YT video or something I've seen before, like an episode of Star Trek
>>531038041Makes sense considering "Lena Raine" is a troon. What's his real name anyway?
>>531065980It's practically necessary at this point
>>531038557Agreed. I cheat in my own mob spawners to make custom dungeons to fight through in survival mode. Endstone is creeper proof? I might steal your idea.
>>531078226nta but i don't think it's entirely creeper proof, endstone does have a blast resist of 9 which is better than deepslate so repairs from creeper explosions are probably quite rare and most likely only breaking a single block or two if any damage does happen
If you throw bread at villagers while they are sleeping, they will fall out of their beds and sleep on the floor.
>>531084139Sleep? With their eyes open? They're clearly suffering from sleep paralysis
>>531085637>>531084139how hard was it for mojang to not add closed eyes to the model when they're lying down?
why did gerg rip off cubfans Ghasketball?
>>531086493Extremely easy, since it doesn't involve any extra work to not add a feature
>Nether intentionally prevents you from farming or living there
>Mojang adds stuff to make nu-Nether more habitable
>also adds ruined Nether portals so you don't even need to go to the nether to get netherrack
I liked it more when it felt like a dungeon you went to for loot instead of an extension of the overworld
>>531078226>>531081128creeper explosions in the middle of the floor break 1-4 blocks
creeper explosions by a wall can break an additional 1-4 blocks
but thats a lot better than on stone
i wasnt building this entire arena out of obsidian just to not have to repair it
>>531090082just like any /v/ user, he can only steal from others
only instead of twitter posts he steals minecraft minigames..
>>531090082he didnโt, their games work completely differently
>>531090082zoomers are morbidly afraid of having a having a normal job
>>531038557I kinda wish there was a system to detect if you are fighting a mob fairly or if you are farming it, and give you very little xp if you are farming. And a bunch of other little things to stop people from abusing game mechanics.
>>531096496i would rather the inverse (you get extra stuff from not farming)
>>531096496and how pray tell would you judge you a player is fighting a mob "fairly"?
>>531096496and how pray tell would you judge a player is fighting a mob "fairly"?
>>531096496There is. You don't get XP, and some items don't drop or drop less often if it's not a player kill. It's just that most farms still outperform manual killing by a wide margin. But there's nothing stopping Mojang from going further with the idea, by lowering the drop rates more for instance. I think automated farming is a good thing, but I also think it shouldn't be the go to for most people. Currently, farms are simply too good in most cases, with perhaps ender enders and iron farms being the best examples
>>531097506i see a couple of options to detect if a mob is in a grinder or not
>mob has line of sight to player's head>mob has a valid path to the player>mob is not in close proximity to a huge amount of other mobs, or an area where other mobs have recently died>mob has damaged a player before>mob has killed a player before
>>531099402At that point, wouldn't it be far easier to just give the player a stacking debuff? The more enemies they kill in a short amount of time, the less loot they get. There's already a Luck stat, that I think affects drops, so they could use that. Of course, since some farms are far less efficient than others, you'd have to spend a lot of time getting the balance right
>>531096496i don't see why you would add a feature like this. farming is a huge part of what makes minecraft popular. Mojang is better off just adding more niche mobs that only spawn under certain circumstances, and those circumstances are tougher but not impossible to build farms for. in that situation everyone wins.
>nofarms mcgee wins because he has new cool content>eceleb mcgee wins because he gets to spend a few weeks in the technology arms race to develop the most efficient farm for the new content>farmer mcgee wins because he can google <new content> best farm and watch some eceleb slop>average player wins because he now has an interesting decision on whether to build this new niche farm for one item, or if he can get away with just fucking doing the content how it's designednether fortresses, trial chambers, shriekers , shulkers already fall in line with this concept so it looks like mojang is already doing it to everyone's surprise but mine
the REAL thing mojang should do is create viable non-farming alternatives for some extremely important resources that take FOREVER to farm legit like fucking XP. there's no reason for an ender or gold farm to be a soft requirement to get decent XP. why on earth does the ender dragon only give 12k xp the first time you kill it, and only gives 500 xp on additional kills and only on java. it makes no fucking sense
>>531096496>>531100030Here's my super scientific graph over how I'd want MC power progression to be. Upgrading tools and getting enchantments should contribute the most, and should satisfy the average player perfectly well. Automation should only be for those who want/need dozens of shulker boxes for large-scale projects, and should otherwise not feel worth the effort
>>531100603well here's how it really should be
>I kinda wish mojang made the game even more boring to play by changing a mechanic so that players have to waste hours and hours grinding for something that never pays off for the amount of time invested
i'm so glad the mojang devs are a different kind of retarded and not like this dipshit
>>531096496>>531100030They should either add XP drops when you deal damage rather than just when a mob dies or replace death XP drops with dealt-damage drops. Or at the very least, remove the scaling for levels--there's no reason it should take more XP to get from level 27 up to 30 than it does to get from 0 to 3 when levels are just a resource consumed at a flat rate and you need to burn them to refresh the available enchantments in your table. Wouldn't hurt to increase XP gained from non-combat sources, too.
>>531097506Hiw should I know? I'm not the one designing the game, they should figure it out. A simple way would be to check if a mob can reach you, otherwise it's not a very fair fight.
>>531098327True, the player kill thing is mean to be that. I guess the core of the problem is mob spawning being so easy to manipulate for your benefit. They could revamp mob spawning to not be based on just light.
>>531108210You would have to rebalance the whole game around it, obviously, but don't we all want a rework of xp and enchanting?
Why are you fags always discussing "game progression"? Do you really constantly start the game over all the time? I've been playing on the same world since version 1.0 in 2011.
>>531114963>I've been playing on the same world since version 1.0 in 2011Proof?
>>531114963I wish I still had my circa 2010 worlds, but those were lost to drive corruption a few computers ago, and my worlds from before I actually paid for the game were lost after I bought it because I was a retarded child who didn't back them up and just deleted things I thought I was done with instead. As for you: post screenshots of your oldest surviving and newest builds. Bonus points if you have fucked up terrain where there are chunks next to each other generated in different versions.
>>531114963I've been playing since 2013 but I didn't make a serious survival world until 2019.
>>531112008i dont mind it having a little scaling. 1-10 being faster than 20-30 but i wish 30-50 was more or less linear so just plain old adventuring can have you come home with 40-50 levels for lots of rolls on the enchant lottery
book trading and xp farms are such necessary parts of playing minecraft because of how terrible it is to get the enchant you want by rolling the enchanting table whenever you happen to hit 30
>>531114963i ragedeleted all those worlds when i was a kid

>>531156569i don't quite understand how you can play a *not* forever world. You can't build anything big with interesting blocks without first getting half way through the game for the tools and then setting a dozen farms.
>>531164970Sometimes you run out of projects and look for a fresh start. Progressing can be fun in itself, even if you've done it before
>>531164970I stopped keeping my worlds forever because I had several major data losses from corrupted drives and lost my oldest ones, then found that I enjoyed playing modded instances but wanted to also keep a vanilla profile that's up to date, then they started adding stuff I'd need a new world to experience because they changed terrain generation or added biomes, then I stopped playing Minecraft for a couple years. Since then I've continued playing modded instances and have kept a near-vanilla instance (performance mods, No Chat Reports, Toast Control, and visual mods only, no blocks/items/structures/etc.) up to date, but it only dates back to when I built my current computer, which is about 2 years old now.
>>531186925Thankfully the game is a lot more stable across updates these days, but my current world is also only like a year or two old. Some updates felt like they needed a restart to me, and without a bit of planning it's very easy to get bored of a world
Teasers today? 4th of July has passed so the Bedrock team should be back to releasing previews.
Gerg, what's with the branding on your YT thumbnails? I get it's meant to represent your intro, but that cycles vertically not with horizontal stripes. The way it looks now is just like coloured filing document tabs than any sort of YT branding
>>531193858>caption: One cow. One sky. One dream.HOLY SHIT THEYโRE ADDING THE AETHER
>>531203792does it look bad?
I was thinking how I don't have good branding on my thumbnails, you can tell a mumbo jumbo video at a glance, even without his corner mark through the colour pallet. So i thought well what's my branding and thought to try something out, seeing if it increases click through rate on other videos.

>>531208003anon, I don't think that's a teaser
>>531233954Something that includes a lot of 0 light areas because regular mobs can't spawn in trial chamber structure boxes
>>531234805Huh, strange, I thought trial chambers are just very well lit, which I still think they are, so making normal mobs not spawn at all was kind of unnecessary.

>>531233662So official floating islands? Yeah, I'd be down for that. The Minecraft overworld needs more unrealistic elements
Slop enjoyers when i ask them why they don't just install mods for their faggot rainbow biome fantasies
>>531235329I thought so too but there's plenty of 0 light areas in trial chambers, especially thanks to the fully oxidized copper bulbs in some areas only giving off 4 levels of light. I think the bounding box for trial chambers is anything within the layer of tuff around ever single room
>>531235329Nah, it's quite handy when you go full autism and harvest any block you see.
>>531235329>>531238724Pretty sure they wanted to avoid having creepers spawn in there, so they use the same no-mob rules that apply to deep-dark biomes
>>531215505you have pictures of Agnes?
>>531210010It doesn't really mean anything without already watching your videos, and even with that it doesn't really represent it. I was thinking maybe having it on the bottom to at least match how it shows up on intro to make more sense, or (and I know it sounds stupid, but it's branding) have it incorporate the gerg name in it (maybe in a corner and having the 4 stripes as background?)
But, no specialist on youtube algorithms, usually branding is Moreover a thing for me to quickly differentiate whose videos it is at a glance, more of a QOL than anything else. For that this kinda works.

Bedrock edition: wandering trader has an offer to buy some kind of potion, but I can't see what it is. I thought it might be an awkward potion but that's not working. Any ideas?
Guys, can't find info about a rather specific thing: what's the vertical spawning range for illagers if I build a sky village?
I'm planning to build an iron farm high in the sky. Because technically I'm building a village, given the 20 villagers and beds and stuff, I was thinking I could drink an omen potion and kick the raid, and if high enough the illagers should spawn in the same room than the golem, thus being killed by the same mechanic.
But for this to work, I need to know how high must be build the farm so I don't end spawning illagers around my base. I know the range is larger than iron golem range, but that's it.
Anyone has any idea?

If itโs something you can do in the game without using commands or mods then itโs not cheating, Minecraft is first and foremost a sandbox
Mending is not even that OP if you don't make XP farms.
remove experience orbs repairing items
buff unbreaking slightly
improve the durability of netherite
mending now works by applying ores to your gear directly without the need of an anvil and repairs them at a much greater rate. raw iron, raw gold and netherite scrap can be used to repair instead of ingots. mending is magic, it doesn't need to be realistic but for mending to work differently other things need to be changed like durability and other enchantments to support the change to mending

Just remove the retarded prior-work penalty and you're golden. Though I like your idea of making the repair cheaper as well - you could easily add that to Mending as well, so it has both effects
>>531466847>Feels like there's so much potential being wasted. That should be the game's fucking tagline

Why can you go in the nether without burning alive? Shouldn't you have to have fire protection or fire resistance or place some ice?
>>531508613Why can you go to the End without suffocating? I'd welcome some more hostile areas, but they'd have to add a whole new dimension for that
>>531511708The end is not space, but the nether is clearly really hot. It would add an interesting layer of preparation, difficulty and immersion and make fire protection more useful. If Mojang wants players to use different armor sets for different situations, since you can't have all the protections at once, this is the best solution for fire protection.
>>531514547Do they want that, though? I feel like enchanting was added back when, and has just remained the same ever since pretty much. I don't think there's much thought going into it currently. Also, fuck fighting piglin brutes without full protection
>>531508613>>531514547You need to go to the nether in the first place to start brewing fire resistance potions and having to keep half your inventory full of non-stacking potions just to get around would be miserable. Fire protection armor would have less of that problem, but then it'd feel pretty bullshit to get caught a few thousand blocks from your portal when the armor keeping you from bursting into flame breaks because you dropped off a few too many 4-block-tall ledges. Mojang also definitely doesn't want you to feel like the Nether is an inhospitable wasteland anymoreโit has its own mushroom trees and such to explore and living there is an intended viable play style. You're welcome to try out mods that add heat and cold and see how you like dying of heat in the Nether, of course, if you're still convinced that's a good feature.
>>531508613Steve is just built like that
Does Minecraft take too long to play?
Felt nostalgic so I started a new classic skyblock world. Haven't played since they nerfed the zombie villagers trading. Which trade do you need now to generate infinite emeralds?
>>531554784Just make tons of automatic crop farms and spam a bunch of farmers.
>>531554784Buying bookshelves and turning them into books to sell back might still work, but it's so easy to make a melon-and-pumpkin farm so that's what I always do. Fish farms for cod and salmon can also work
>>531555762>>531566131Automatic farms would require redstone. I need easier emerald generations first before building up the villagers trading hall for clerics. I don't think the bookshelf trade generates profit anymore, only breaks even.
Make an infinite string duper (it takes like 4 pressure plates and 2 cobble) and sell it to Fletcher for inf emeralds. Albeit this is kinda cheaty, so the other method is sticks that you then sell to thatcher.
>>531574341I thought they patched the string duper.
>>531571085You could also plant and harvest melons and pumpkins manually. They grow really fast if you use a checkerboard pattern with alternating rows. If you have silk touch you don't even have to craft the melons
>>531554784Iron farm
With one revive it's 1 iron ingot -> 1 emerald
On max level they sell diamond tools, weapons and armour (depending on villager type, look at wiki) so it's good to have them anyway.
Having like 24 of those and decent iron farm is more than enough for normal player with bit iron and emeralds
The emerald->glass->glass pane->emerald I think still works after 1 revive for each but margin of earnings is so low I didn't bother.

What's the best tool to enchant with silk touch? I mean, it sounds pointless in axes, but seems kinda useful in shovels, as there are some type of soils that would be turned into regular soil if not mined with a ST shovel.
Still on the fence, definitely not want to carry double sets of tools with fortune or ST, so if having to choose, which tool would be the most useful if enchanted with ST?
>>531812756>dirt road>on a foundation of stone
>>531832264Pickaxe is the only one that can mine all blocks and drop them I think. Meaning you can't mine stone and ores with other tools. And your ender chest will mine faster.
>they picked the seed from the title screen
S0VL
>>531832264All my default tools have silk touch. An axe for bookshelves, melons and mushroom blocks, a shovel for grass blocks, mycelium, etc., and a pickaxe for everything else. I only bring out my fortune pickaxe when I go mining ore. There's absolutely no reason to have a double set of tools, and fortune on axes and shovels don't do anything
>>531841110I forgot to say I also have a silk touch hoe for leaves and so on, and a fortune hoe for saplings and crops, since you get more stuff if you harvest with a fortune tool
>>531841110>and fortune on axes and shovels don't do anythingfactually wrong.
>>531846319It doesn't do anything that isn't done better by other tools, I mean. There's no block that benefits from fortune that's also mined quicker with a shovel or axe. I've tried it with mushroom blocks and fortune doesn't affect it, and most other blocks drop a set amount (e.g. clay and bookshelves). I guess flint from gravel would be the one exception, but you still won't get more flint per block, it'll only drop slightly more often
>>531846783>you still won't get more flint per block, it'll only drop slightly more oftenyes, it drops slightly more often, which means you get more flint per block.
and you get more melon pieces with an axe. in that case obviously it's better to use silk touch, but that of course was not what you said initially
>>531847404That's not what it means. You get more per *block you break*, but a stack of gravel can only ever produce a stack of flint, so you don't get more per *block* - which is the whole point of fortune, normally. I actually didn't know it worked on melons, but since you can't get more than 9 slices per block it doesn't matter and I'll keep using silk touch. I maintain my original stance that there's no reason to enchant shovels and axes with fortune for the average player, as it doesn't meaningfully help in collecting resources
They should really just add big movers like create. Even the glue from create would be enough. It would need a big change in redstone i suppose though.

I've found the slow and steady best way to raid ancient cities without elytra or potions of night vision
>bring four/five stacks of wool
>build paths around the ancient city, breaking shriekers, opening chests and retrieving goods
>if and when you do inevitably get a shrieker to three shrieks, immediately return to your starting point, naturally still in the deep dark so mobs so sneak up

>go back to hunting once the episode is complete, knowing thirty minutes have passed in-game and the shriekers are reset on threat level

>>532009707Not necessarily. Once you know what you're doing you can clear it in like 15-30 minutes by just flying between points of interest and looting chests. The problem is that sometimes shriekers (or the sensors that set them off) spawn underground or in positions where they're almost impossible to spot or reach, so you're pretty much guaranteed to summon at least a few wardens which will slow you down

A temporary ban is issued alongside notifying a player that a ban has been made and the reason for it to protect the player in case of account theft. >>532036102It's more likely they just fucked up somehow with their automatic moderation system. >>531999690How does a mod bypass chat reporting anyway, why hasn't mojang nuked it

copper golems and shelves are cool but I'm really hoping for a new biome
>>532391342Copper is getting tools and armor soon. You says you can't find iron and it halts progress, but that's what the copper gear is supposed to help with, and you think it's useless? Copper is also for industrial themed building.
Tip: iron is found easier in the stone layer, not at deepslate. It's also easier to find ores caving than strip mining. Water caves are also not that hard, you can get air from the magma.
If you need flat terrain to build, that's a skill issue.
If your invetory is crowded, remember to use bundles.

I feel like I find a lot less iron at every level, near the surface or deep down at deepslate level. I know the thing about the magma thanks, but you still can't mine properly or displace all the water. and no, I'm not gonna mine 1 block for 30 seconds
flat/uneven terrain is no problem, I mean if they're gonna roll out and expand on biomes, do the same for the land. they've expanded horizontally, which I like, but also a little bit vertically (above ground) which seems a weird choice. my sample size is small 3 worlds so maybe I just got unlucky

>>532474183>>532452269I am colorblind (deuteranope)
It's a good idea, but poor execution.
Most of the shapes are nondescript blobs that don't hint at what they relate to, even though some of the older dye sprites previously did - brown dye, for example, used to resemble cocoa once upon a time, for a while now has been a brown pile of ash(?) and is now a generic blob with no resemblance to cocoa beans whatsoever.
IMO, the second column was nearly perfect as most dyes had distinctive shapes which hinted at their origin. I'll get used to the new ones but I don't like how generic they are at a glance.
>>532407637Mojang could check to see if the water would flow back into wherever you'd place a torch. But they'd never do that sort of thing, big companies are too afraid of that kind of little low-value complexity. And there would indeed be complexityโfor example a torch in a worldgen structure that generates underwater might not get a torch.
>>532506238I honestly feel like it shouldn't get a torch in that situation. Either let it be destroyed or replace with with an underwater alternative. Most structures don't spawn underwater and those that do don't use torches anyway. I agree with the idea, though. If you attempt to place a torch in water, the 5 adjacent blocks (ignoring down, since water can't flow up) should be checked to see if they'd flow into the block in question, and if they do the torch isn't placed
>>532506238Why, though? Nothing in the game works like that, you're allowed to place anything underwater, why would there be a restriction for torches?
>>532419972Damn that's nice
I need to build this overlooking my bread farm

More iron generates at y=16, the most iron actually generates above sea level, up in the tallest mountains... but they also tweaked how it generates with regards to air, so you get less of it by grabbing a pick and digging out a mine than by exploring caves. I've been digging a 4x4 tunnel at y=16 for a few hundred blocks of length now--if I didn't have a Fortune pick, I'd have probably under a stack of iron ore yield from that. The prevalence of copper also makes it feel like you're getting less iron by comparison even when you find it. I think modern Mojang is afraid of adding features and having their zero attention span child audience not find it immediately, so they made copper generate plentifully everywhere so you can't miss it. Similarly,
