Her battle dialogue has a bunch of foreshadowing and you get a third of the axe room song for beating it. The whole sidequest to unlock the Gerson fight is basically an expanded version of the blue checkmarks in cyber city. You can also smooth-talk and charm foes, then backstab them when their guards are down for massive damage. I think this flew over so many people's heads with UT than Toby made Deltarune to explore it more obviously; many creators have found themselves in this position, creating a more accessible work after their first success was misunderstood. Susie is the personification of the drive or will to fight and do violence, and Ralsei the opposite. All four chapters have consistently explored this simple dichotomy through increasingly varied and complex scenarios. We've seen the worst of violence in the Weird Route, and the best of violence in everyone's resolve to fight the Titan.

I think chapter 5 will be normal sized since Toby said a 2026 release, and chapter 6 will be a wumbo-sized part in the Holiday Mansion that will wrap up the prophecy and main cast's character arcs, including Undyne somehow getting rescued from the bunker or turning out to never have been there in the first place. Chapter 7 will be the shelter which was never supposed to happen in the prophecy and answers the remaining questions of the story.

Continuing.... but in the THIRD sanctuary, the wafer priests and philosophers actually meet, and cannot stand each other. They both see the other as pointless wastes of space and time, prattling on with empty navel-gazing questions or foolishly and disappointingly pushing naive beliefs.

Why are they even able to meet at all? It's sort of a mystery right now. The Knight made the first and third sanctuary fountains, and they were essentially in the same space with the same objects, hence mostly identical. The difference is the door sealing off the main chamber of the church from the front and side rooms. The chamber had no influence on the first sanctuary, whereas the entire church was included in the third.

Could this have been enough to awaken the philosophers (and the Wiccabels and Winglades)? Or did Susie's Second Sanctuary add a little something to those Darkners, giving them just enough compatibility from her intent, belief, sense of purpose, that they could now persist? Either way, a conflict is created..

All of this ties in to a growing theme of questioning the idealism of Ralsei's Dark Kingdom. There's a lot of disfunction after the TV World gang are added to the city, with Darkners now arguing with each other and spaces seemingly being taken over to the detriment of longer-standing inhabitants. At a certain point along the sliding scale of Ralsei-coloured friendship and Susie-toned conflict, there is the proverb "Good fences make good neighbours". Now consider that by breaching a "fence" - opening the main door in the church - two types of Darkners who were quite happy with the other as statues, even worshipful, suddenly find themselves in conflict.

I don't make predictions much in threads; here is one. In future chapters, if you keep maxing out your recruitment and adding endless Darkners to Castle Town, there will be an eventual falling out and clash amongst them. Ralsei will lack the strength to resolve this and impose peace; Susie won't.

I think it's fair to say that Noelle's crush on Susie makes her act uncharacteristically, which we could see with her choking Berdley, and how Susie goes wide-eyed when Noelle mentions wanting to choke him at the Holiday house.
I think it's also fair to say that Susie has several moments where she acts uncharacteristically (not putting on a brave face, even when scared) during those scenes. As far as she knows, she tossed Noelle's phone a few feet and then Kris fucked off for like half an hour, turned off the circuit breaker, and then was hiding in the closet in Dess' room to scare her and Noelle but messed up and made noise. Susie doesn't really distract Noelle since the latter already wanted to talk to Susie alone, and will even basically say so to Kris if you talk to her before inspecting the guitar the first time. Susie admits she never bullied Noelle because the latter gave her a pencil on her first day in a very "releasing the wolf from the bear trap at the beginning of RE4" like fashion, and her wanting to follow up and make more "real world" friends like Ralsei suggested is reasonable. Since Susie in the normal route sees the shelter code was in the guitar, she can guess Kris did actually find a clue, but somehow forgets to ask whether Kris saw it while hiding in the closet.

Unrelated but it was weird to me hearing about Undertale's supposed Earthbound inspiration without any particular examples given and then I played it and saw the boat taking you to Hotland references the Mr. Saturn table you ride in Mother 3 and all the human children's items correspond to Mother classes as well, even without the obvious "name the fallen child" prompt. The memes made it sound like it was just being quirky RPG that they had in common but both Undertale and Deltarune are deeply Earthbound/Mother inspired in a way that a lot of games that get compared to the series aren't
