Finished No Good Noelle, and with that, all Nemlei games prior to Coffin. The game was more shorter than i expected, and is almost as short (if not as short) as Candy Scabs, but it was really nice all around. Jack In A Castle and Better Half were my favorites. Going through those stories made me see Coffin in a quite different light. Beyond the game on his own, i appreciate it more as being part of Nemlei's world and storytelling. Coffin seems to be a new direction in her work, because is unlike anything she did so far in many aspects, and yet, still sharing the usual personality. Her stories are compared to Fairy Tales for a good reason, they feel like twisted magical wonderlands, and yet, the prose and themes resonates immensely with the everyday life of the contemporary world. Across their simplicity, they are filled with immense fondness and imagination, as well as honest understanding of life. Needless to say, all of Nemlei stories are recommended. They have this personal touch to them, a nostalgic atmosphere; like dreams recorded in a time capsule that finds its way to you.
