I agree with Legend that all the other races should be streamlined to have their early tier units available without T1 military buildings.
But Empire should just have 2x times more building slots and build everything, starting with crapstacks and then iteratively restocking Karl Franz/Elspeth/Volkmar with convoys of better and better troops is the intended experience.

You need a flying metal caster with final transmutation, waste groms ammo or spawn horrors on them. you either corner camp in the open or hide your army in the forest.

You have pink and blue horrors corner camping with a few heroes out in front to hold the line. you spam final transmutation while they move to the corner of the map, and by the time they get it the missile units eat them up.

General tzeentch tip: spawn your blue and pink horrors on your heroes on shrines and when the units disintegrate it counts towards the entity deaths needed for your unlimited winds of magic recharge

Honestly? I'd go with greenskins or chaos dwarfs (but both require you purchasing DLC, with the latter being completely locked without it and the former being heavily incomplete)
The greenskins are probably the faction that feel most similiar to muslims/ottomans in terms of history. The dwarfs are *kinda* like the Byzantines of Warhammer, heavily weakened but shielding Warhammer "Europe" from most of Orc attacks.
But they lack any gunpowder, while the Chaos Dwarfs have the best artillery in the game arguably, as well as really good gun infantry. But again, they're a DLC faction.

In battle, its easy enough to imagine; hearld of slaanesh+ (idk if shes a caster), daemonnette summon, and switchable dances ala welf bladesingers. No mount or chariot only since she has to be always dancing.
What about campaign tho? I’m hard pressed to think of a mechanic somewhere on the arbaal/epidemius level. Part of me would think maybe a ‘tempo’/‘rhythm’ system most akin to taurox momentum where you get buffs based on fighting at a certain pace. I could maybe see a part of it being switching masks for various effects like how luthor harkon has the personality switching.

this is mostly correct, i would add: depends on the map which victory point you want to stack on, the second last point gives you the leadership/md buff which can sometimes be the difference between winning and losing but some maps the final point is vastly superior defensively, you can get a very fast or stalking unit and hide it in a corner and recap the second last point to get the buff back and waste their time

barricades are good when they have lots of missile units because they shoot them now, but keep in mind if they can just run around them and cap the point theyll do that, different factions have different trap/monument buffs, some get regen and they are the best choice over barricades because they cant be destroyed except for capping a point

if you have a damaged garrison unit like 6 skaven slaves, put them on the walls to activate the towers, a few shots of towers is the only way theyll do any damage

if you can spot an opportunity in the deployment phase you can put a unit or two at the gates and rush out and kill their artillery or squishy units sometimes entirely for free

some situations its worth putting all your missile troops on the wall and getting off a few volleys+towers working and then moving them back to your final defensive position

Mannfred, the supporting lords, and the supporting heroes were at a pretty high level, with Mannfred on his dragon. He also had a few power units (mostly RoRs) dispersed throughout his armies. The rest were trash. The autoresolve showed a decisive defeat so I guess that's why the AI was cocky with its shit stacks. I just rolled in to take Oreon's Camp when he was on the backfoot against Volkmar and Repanse but then they retreated and Mannfred brought 4 armies out of the fog.

I like Durthu. On my Franz campaign I was almost wiped out after barely defeating Festus and Vlad declares war on me. Thought campaign was over with his graveguard and blackknight stacks but in comes Durthu with a treekin stack and together we managed to kill him.

Shouldn't single lord DLC's have been the norm for a long while now? If the goal was to avoid putting off people by seeing a mountain of DLC or confusing consumers on what is and isn't necessary then I think 3 games and $400 of DLC(and some content available outside of Steam) has crossed that threshold awhile ago. We wouldn't have (presumably) had long droughts of content, CA would have more consistent revenue, and they wouldn't have to scrape the bottom of the barrel for stuff to include to justify higher prices by including more and more in each race pack. And why mention that after they did it with ToD and then swiftly said ONLY ToD would be split? You could even avoid people putting reviews into the red on the DLC as a whole like with SoC because they would only negatively review the sections they didn't like

Usually I'm at work and start thinking about one particular aspect of a faction I really like (Black Orc Big Bosses, Leviathans, Streltsi, etc.) and start the campaign when i get home.
