Performance has little impact in how good the game is, in that it's not very good. There's something fundamentally wrong with the loop of picking up a quest, getting to the monster and beating it up. It feels awful all over and having a mon being super hard doesn't make it more satisfying.

>>531017280If I recall Dark Cloud 2's fishing does this as well but it's a far more fleshed out fishing mini game than whatever Wilds is doing since you need to manager the tension bar while reeling the fish in. However in Dark Cloud 2 you can actually use the tension to your advantage in that if you're willing to take the risk you can tire the fish out by tilting the stick in the opposite direction for a risk/reward.

Why does everyone say Air Dash is bad again? If you're running Axe Hopper for your SAEDs then Air Dash becomes more viable than Morphing Advance as a defensive tool because it leaps you up into the air so most monster moves can't touch you.

It's a great game, but I wouldn't recommend it on PC, each patch seems to make the stability worse and worse. I used to be able to play for hours at a time, with high gfx settings, now I can't complete a single hunt against things that i used to be able to hunt multiples of without the game crashing. If Capcom ever fixes this maybe I'll change my review but for now, the game is basically unplayable. If you don''t have it yet, I would recommend holding off till it's fixed.

When the game works it's fun, As of 7/12 the game won't even load up. It will verify all of the content and then just give me a black screen. I've tried loading it up 6 times to no avail, I've also tried uninstalling 3 times, it doesn't help out at all. They done goofed up with this monster hunter. I want to start by clarifying exactly what this game is. It's not a Monster Hunter game, its a Monster Fighter game.
All of the hunting, prep work, learning curve, and progression related grind for gear and weaponry has been completely smoothed out of the game's experience to near none existence for the sake of mass appeal. The introducing of such an integrated mount mechanic, though fun, has made it crucial for navigating maps and for fighting the 5-10 min battles effectively. You used to need a 50 min time for quests, now it's simply embarrassingly easy for old and new players.
You also play most cutscenes on rails, following what the Devs want you to see and do rather than exploring the maps and being rewarded with story progression organically.
Yes, I'm an elitist who's played the games since first picking up a greatsword in Freedom nearly 20 years ago. And that's precisely why I'm bluntly warning you what you're getting or in this case not getting.
The gameplay is fun, if it runs. But that's pretty much it. The game is insultingly undercooked and unjustifiably short compared to any previous title.
If this is your first exposure to the series. Go play Worlds instead. Its a far more complete experience, having years to refine it, and it's the best game that genuinely builds on the slower grindier handheld ones that made the series the power house it is today.

Dont get me wrong i dnot want to buy bugnets and pickaxes back to gather stuff one item at a time but i want to have to prepare properly and use the things i bring or i can find on my hunt only. I want my hunts to have meaning again and i Dont want a Cringy story about mimimi dont hurt the monster in MONSTER HUNTER with annoying af charakters and autopilot "hunts"

I put about 140 ish hours into this game and it was great until it wasn't. After a certain update, it literally became unplayable. 9950XD 64 GM RAM 5080 SPECS can't run it. After the set update I had all kinds of crazy issues. First off, I can't even be in the game for more than 5 minutes without it using literally ALL of my RAM and all of my vram. I talked to support about it and all they could give me was it's a known issue. It's never been fixed. Also weirdly enough, it disconnects my USBs and causes all kinds of crazy audio issues. I actually had to completely uninstall the game to stop this from happening. Ever since then I haven't had a single problem. A couple of weeks ago I reinstalled the game just to see cuz I heard there's been fixes and things have been patched. BIG NOPE. SAME EXACT ISSUES And again with the audio and USB stuff it wouldn't even stop with the game not running so I had to uninstall it completely And this time I even had to delete the folder out of the steambase file to get it to stop. Also, the game doesn't properly support ultrawide though it says it does. It leaves bars on the sides of your screen they're not even black. They're gray so if you have an OLED beware. There is a mod that will fix this but good luck even trying to run the game anyways. This is my first negative recommendation for a game ever and I've played fallout 76 at lunch and stuck with it and that was nowhere near as bad as the issues that plague this game.

I don't think it will ever be ideal, but the changes that would need to be made for a Switch 2 port would probably convert into a new graphics mode that's tuned to run right, and also not look like The Witcher 3 on the first Switch.
