I completed my first train ride!
Didn’t get the op charm that does shield on red tide, but I was able to build up a set that does lots of “Agony” damage when dealing elemental status effects.
And between Motoha and Fleuret I was able to stack windswept and shock pretty effectively so it worked out really solidly.
It got dicey when Mona got 1 shot by Titania, but I was able to ramp up damage enough to get it to work out alright.

Apparently the second Palace is in the second block of Mementos. I figured the story mode would just unlock all that and you'd one-shot Mementos like P5(R) does. Guess this time around Mementos is super important to go through in addition to the Palaces.

Got a little stuck with the Kin-ki and brothers boss before finding that out. Once I understood the order to take them out in (Kin-ki being obvious, but getting wiped hard managing to take 2 out at a time fucked me over a few times until I took them out one at a time) it became easier and now I'm about to unlock ONIONS and then do the event/Take Your Heart before that finishes up.

I'll probably grind levels and materials over the next few weeks and ignore the non-P5 base events otherwise.

This game uses the absolute worst possible note scrolling that I think a game can use, turn the note speed to 5.0 to alleviate some of that. Changing the resolution to 1024x768 (4:3) to squish the lanes might also help.

For rhythm games in general, you keep your eyes where it's most comfortable for you at the moment. Different people have different preferences.

Unrelated tip, if you're capping your framerate to 60 on a higher hz monitor, uncap it. Rhythm games are one of the genres that benefit best from high framerates.
