But yeah, as for the 100 routes, they're kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place. All they really can do is either trust Sirei, or explode him and hope for the best since the Futurans aren't accepting of them.
Maybe in a DLC route where a Takumi that has witnessed all of the original 100 routes manages to leap all the way to Day 1, and try to swing things around before anything major takes place. Which would be a hard sell coming from him, when his only back-up in Hiruko is only available from D3 onward.

I still take Kodaka’s comments on the time stuff with a grain of salt, he might not even be aware Uchikoshi referenced 2nd scenario in SF. Pretty sure he said there’s no looping in 2nd scenario but that doesn’t track with that being brought up in SF

Someone did bring up an interesting idea that perhaps Hiruko’s looping is caused by not being satisfied if anyone dies. She doesnt appear to have absorbed shion and gone back like Takumi cause then the power boost would’ve happened before too (and she’d be boosted as well). Regardless if that’s it it does seem odd she didn’t meet the same conditions as Takumi but is still doing it somehow

There's alot of inconsistencies when it comes to Hiruko's Redo Skill, it never shows up in menu's, and if Hiruko is in battle and Takumi isn't, than you still can't use Redo, it really shows that Kodaka did not care for Uchikoshi's story.

There’s also his level of involvement which makes sense for not being familiar with certain things. Kodaka only intended to write 1st and 2nd scenario, and Uchikoshi is listed as the route scenario direction so I assume all the alt routes lol. Then Kodaka had to be roped into helping because they said they wouldn’t make it in time, and so he ended up helping write a few and also wrote CoT last minute (which leads to another inconsistency with being able to use their powers off the planet whoops). If you look at all the routes he helped with, it’s all 2nd scenario connected ones and then comedy. Nothing to do with the other kill routes or BoC.

Does seem a little mean to just do 2 and said ‘okay you guys do the other 98 endings’, but I suppose he did create the characters and world as well and they just have to take his set up and characters and do something with them.

I think it's because there's this general idea in a lot of mystery media that revealing the Truth is always going to be the end all be all for any plot, and that all things can be resolved by showing off the truth. Even his games contribute to that, but ever since Danganronpa 1 he's always written with the belief that even if the Truth is necessary, it's painful and agonising. It depends since we don’t actually know how their sim life thing actually worked. Was it in real time? Was it just an initial scenario then it progressed according to how they interacted with it? There was some level of hands-offness due to not catching Takumi’s had been messed with so it would be understandable to not notice Eito’s either especially since it was through his eyes so whatever means they had of observing their sim they wouldn’t be able to see what Eito does. But they had to be able to see in their sim life for what they wear and how they do their hair (or dye it) or have piercings to recreate it.

Okay, finished all BoC branches. I liked the route especially G'ie lore. Twists were good (even if a little predictable sometimes) and atmosphere was top tier for that setting. But I need to confirm a few things So basically when Takumi was killed by Nozomi, he was infected by G'ie. And not only him but the whole SDU was the same which means that Nozomi-G won and killed everyone + used bodies of people who died earlier (at first I thought they were a hallucination), right?
And in the branch where Takumi kills everyone, was he driven by his guilt? I still can't say if he was mentally ill or it was another G'ie shennigans because Sirei announcements were the same as when Nozomi killed him. And it's possible that Nozomi killed him after all (2nd scenario confirmed that doors can't protect you). But if it's the case then the murder of Nozomi doesn't make sense
And one final question
If the ghost was made of Takumi's guilt then what exactly was it talking with Dalh'xia and V'ehxness?

Just finished SF as my final route needed for 100%
I'm -amazed- at how under-baked they managed to make a capstone route in a game that takes triple digit number of hours to totally complete. The absolute BALLS required to introduce plot elements at the final hour (like the time machine and variant comet) and not expand on or show them at all. I hear they didn't expect people to actually 100% the game and were near bankruptcy so fair enough, but the whole experience ends on such an underwhelming note it's a shame. I feel like the writing of SF isn't strong enough for how important it is within the meta-story's plot.
Fun time though, will buy DLC.

Everything beforehand with Hiruko made me like her but then how she acts in SF made me dislike her. Really confusing they have no romance anything come up aside from some Takumi teasing considering they both remember the end of Slasher. Of course gets brought up at the end but she really wasted her time getting to be alone with Takumi if she really loved him enough to let everyone else die instead of him to hear him say he loves her. I really don’t like that she’s only able to be nice/honest once a route is fucked. I don’t like it at all.

I wish we got to see her be vulnerable and honest with Takumi like a Retsnom but they were mostly before the lock and then that one scene where she thinks she isn’t going to get to join everyone. That one was sweet but really could’ve used more of that she’s such a bitch in the rest of it.

Completely agree, I feel like the SF route writer didn't really know how to run with the relationship foundation laid for Hiruko established in other routes. Their dynamic in SF feels way clunkier than it does in other routes, and makes no sense based on the memories they have. I also feel like Hiruko as a character wouldn't beat around the bush with what she wants, she seems to be holding back in other routes simply because she doesn't want to fuck the timeline rather than feeling awkward about her feelings.

It seems like you may not be familiar, but the writer for Mystery and SF is actually the big #2 guy behind the project and in charge of all the alt routes. Uchikoshi. I mention this because, if you’ve played one of his other games it would unfortunately be very apparent once you do SF that he just copied the character dynamic straight from his other game and applied it to Takumi and Hiruko. If you don’t plan on playing the Zero Escape games the comparisons are in VLR the protagonist goes through a story with branches and there’s a lot of story locks that require information from other routes. However it then becomes apparent the MC is actually remembering doing other timelines just as the player has progressed through them. However, there’s also a bitchy heroine that also seems to know things she shouldn’t. Well surprise surprise they’re both time traveling hopping between routes, and the end of the game is them both time hopping together trying to set everything right. Also they banter and argue with each other the whole game but at least the MC in VLR gets to win the argument sometimes. But in VLR’s case he’s a tall Chad who recently got dumped by his gf and she’s a short flat harpy. Anyways he pretty much turned HL into that made them argue but had Takumi lose all the time conversation wise probably cause he’s short and she’s tall. The argue banter has been in VLR and Ai the Somnium Files.

Well like they said there, she didn’t let her feelings show to not fuck the timeline but she should’ve let it show once everything was on the table with Takumi. I also think if Hiruko had been honest about loving Takumi at the start of SF after the memory reveal but then proceeded to treat him exactly the same I would’ve been fine with it because at least Takumi and I could know she still loves him despite being so damn mean that’s just how she is.

I brought it up before but I was fine with Senjogahara being as cold as she was since at least Araragi and I had already heard how much she loves him before so anything after that is just how she shows love and she can’t help how she is.

Hiruko obviously wouldn't make her feelings for Takumi clear until she is completely sure that they finally escaped the loop, throughout SF it is made quite clear that she although she doesn't show it openly she is quite traumatized by the experience and is always afraid that no matter what she does she will always be trapped in the loop, no way she would openly tell Takumi that she loves him and start a relationship with him unless she is sure that she will not wake up the next day back at the beginning of the hundred days having to see how she is again almost a stranger to Takumi and he might even fall in love with another girl, the fact that she confessed her feelings for Slasher is because the situation was completely screwed up and she simply did not want both Takumi and her to spend her last moments with only bad memories.

The implication seems to be that the time traveling versions of Takumi and Hiruko get to break out of the loop in Mystery, Eva Massacre end SF, and All 17 SF. However, Kodaka when asked in Q&A did say the killing game crew got to live happy lives after. So it does seem as though some version of Takumi kept going but the one that loops got sucked back to keep looping. The loop stuff is a bit confusing since Kodaka also probably doesn’t have the full picture either. Especially since the way Takumi looped and Hiruko looped appear to be different since she doesn’t seem to have ever absorbed Shion which would’ve powered up the enemies. Romance seems like it might’ve been one but Shion still gets sacrificed there so it’s a no go.

I'm a big Darumifag so during Retsnom when the horrors were unfolding i kept thinking to myself that if i were in the game I'd have just dragged Shouma along and inject him with that. nothing wouldve mattered if Shouma died for our sins. My enjoyment of Gaku is heavily dependent on the route so maybe I'm missing something but while I don't mind him I don't really think he has anything that sticks. You look at the girls and you can sorta tell what they're about immediately. Tsubasa's the tomboy mechanic, Darumi's the jonkler, Gaku's design doesn't really show much about him imo. Him being a poorfag also kinda steps on the twins' toes so they had to throw in shit like the fact that he likes sad music for some reason. Can't even say he's the obligatory pervert because everyone's a pervert in this game. Doesn't help his gameplay is also kinda useless..

He's not a hardcarry but he's so easy to use to nuke a bunch of mobs at once. If the boss has a big reflect range his range is great for them too. For all the people praising Kyoshika I've always found her to be a worse Takumi/Hiruko.
