I noticed they change some stuff in the story though. Like, all the playable classes being there during the final battle and having some dialogue before lunging at the Black Mage was definitely not there in the original, but it's a really good change I think. But I also remember back in the original story, Belle and Brighton fucking die when the Resistance ship goes to destroy the Black Mage's heart. That was the literal entire reason that scene was added at all, to show Belle and Brighton get killed off. Removing it just made the entire segment kinda pointless. I guess it's because they really wanted to have them there fighting the Black Mage with you so Battle Mages and Wild Hunters are represented? But another thing I noticed is they completely removed the scene with Orchid at the end of the story??? Why the actual fuck would they remove that?????? I distinctly remember at the end of the story, Orchid approaches you on the White Spear before you all return to the Outpost and you two have a conversation where she acts all tsundere towards you, as she does, but then as she's walking away, she whispers "I'll see you around...", indicating she considers you her one and only friend. Then you character asks her what she said because you didn't hear her whisper, then she turns to you, smiles, and says "I said I'll see you around, dummy!" and then leaves.

surely the game is gonna be up before reset so i can power through them with my huge new power boost

People are complaining about the pottable badge not being permanent, but something like that should not be a reward from a one-time event. Import the new boss that tms or cms got and make the badge drop from that so people have an incentive to kill it and it's always available.

the patch maint will end earlier but people will soon find massive bugs that will force doing an extended maint that will last for 24 hours

I rejoined maple with the release of Hyperion, that ushered in 6th job and for this short discussion most importantly the Abyssal Expedition which to my knowledge was the first legion block event that the game had had in several years. Essentially they made what was once legacy no longer legacy. Although the event being an attempt at recreating the afk mobile games was met with mixed reviews, I don't remember any negative outcry that the legion block was no longer considered legacy. Now with ride or die 2 even a casual player like me with a cosmetic legion block I can't do anything with.

Additionally we even got a permanent title from Aran/Shade remaster event

Conversely during this time we've seen temporary totems, in the three that were attainable last December update. And now the temporary badge.

All in all it's just odd the mentality GMS is taking with legacy content. Lastly, it has to be mentioned that GMS's outright uninterest in talking to us is weird. This recent update doubles the daily reward in Challengers world, that is a great change, but for the past 4 weeks players have been ruminating in negative emotions because of the state that Challengers world was released in and we didn't even get a notice that they're looking at it. I say this from a marketing perspective, there public perception would benefit more from then being creating dialogue as opposed to just shadow dropping changes whether those changes are beneficial or not.

Seems pretty simple, I got enough coins from the first dive and sushi sale to complete the first 2 missions. I guess the goal is to cycle between upgrading the restuarant however you do that and upgrading your diving gear to get better fish to serve. I got 30000 tokens after the trip, should be pretty easy to get all the growth pots and vouchers.

I know nobody wants to hear this since we're still in the 'set the sub on fire with complaints' phase of patch rollout, but I just did a Class X run, and it was....fun? I didn't max out challenges since I was just trying things out, but I think Horntail is basically free (I did it with 10 and the others with 5). Ended on 8 lives because I got a little sloppy on Vellum. Had no problems with bosses behaving the way that they should, the challenges feel fair, and playing on X class is a lot easier than I remember S class being 6 months ago.

I am libbed though, and a good bit into Hexa progression for anyone who read this and thought "Yeah, I'll go do X class now!" and that gene iframe was used and abused.

Obviously I can't speak to the experience for newer players since I didn't even both with B, A, or S class, but from my end of things, Ride or Die v2 got the tweaks that I thought it needed and, rewards aside, it's now just a genuinely fun event. And at the end of the day, having fun in Mushroom game is really what I'm after.

5x Code S clears does not cap you this season. I had 17 deaths (3 deaths remaining) and I got a score of 434,542. That is with max challenges (15).

I had a guildie who had a deathless 5x Code S clear and got approx 490,000.

I think its better to do most of X rank with one challenge, and do a couple of the easier bosses for you with 5 challenges. Thats what i did and barely made it past 500k, but easier than dealing with 15 challenges at S rank.

Nexon took all of our feedback from RoD1 and threw it out of the window and told themselves 'good job!'?

- Still cant see shit because kazax yaps endlessly and takes half of the screen (which was one of the main complaints)
- They kept all of the most annoying and unfair effects, removed the neutral ones and added MORE annoying random bullshit effects
- No changes on the arena, so you still cant see shit because your own UI is on top of the ground in some resolutions, and people loggin makes it impossible to see the ground (some stuff that we have been begging for 20 years to be able to be turned off). I will not even comment on some attacks being completely unaligned (like dnell arrows) to the ground, because it was in the feedback last time and nexon blatantly ignored it.
- Even buggier than before with bosses not spawning randomly, not being able to enter X code because some stuff are considered equipments and much more to be discovered
- No increase in rewards as the difficult went up (I used to be able to 1~2 shot bosses in RoD1 S code, and now it takes 3~4 bursts, and I have gotten stronger), making it completely pointless for newer and season players that cant come even near enough capping

This mode is not fun, filled with rng infuriating bullshit, not rewarding for new players, with the only good thing that comes out of it being the mapae nodestones and the legion block (which is pointless if you already have 2). Nexon missed the mark again big time by completely ignoring what we told them that was wrong about RoD1. Skipping this event without thinking twice. Good luck for the soldiers that still need the legion block and have to put up with this bs again.

The concept of this event is personally not any fun at all. Pyramid last year was better even though it was often tedious. Misty Island would have been fun if runs weren’t 1 hour long and unplayable for people with high ping. Yes, I know neither of those events are from GMS but they’re similar ones that come to mind.

I don’t want this event to return and would rather they came up with anything else and just move all of the same rewards (+ permanent badge) to a better-designed event.

From my perspective, Maple doesn't want a player, it wants a drone who's willing to sit there and grind for hours, repeat the same actions every day, every week, every month even, for the promise of miniscule increases in power that it won't even give you 97% of the time, and then 2% of that time giving you the middle finger for daring to want to get more power so you can experience more of the game's content. Every event, repeat the same actions, play effectively the same minigames, do the same punch-king-like, receive the same stock event rewards.

And SOMEHOW you're supposed to want to do that when the company who owns the game in KMS panders to the 1% who are able to actually partake in that content when they're not being transparently greedy, and the branch who run GMS can't even get the game to work on-time and can barely keep its own promises to do good by the players, because they're too busy trying to get the game to work AT ALL. And STILL want you to spend money on them.

I don't get it anymore. Before I was willing to say that there's a light at the end of the tunnel, but over the last month it's occured to me that for someone like me, the path there feels like it is either covered in sticky smelly sludge, barbed spikes, or somehow both at the same time, and often pushes you down and drags you back a ways while calling that move a feature. And also sometimes you just get full-body paralysis and don't know if you'll be allowed to move again for a while.

I'm pretty sure the game can ONLY run on nostalgia for players like myself, but what about everyone else? Do you seriously see a success story coming out of this game at this point? Is it just sunk-cost fallacy holding you down? Is this somehow actually fun to you?

angler company is puzzles so it can take a bit longer if you are stupid but it's pretty easy just kinda tedious

I find angler easier and faster than high mountain once you realize how the puzzles work.

Good lord, where do I even begin, this abysmal event is just, beyond words. It is not fun, it leaves you frustrated after every boss.

They not only did not take any of the suggestions after RoD1 but got rid of all the challenges that were a mild inconvenience and kept all the ones that are extremely monitor-smashing annoying.

There is no strategy involved, its literally just go in, burst die wait burst repeat until the boss dies. All the while you sit around wondering what killed you because you STILL, even after all the feedback they had from RoD1, get stunned, blinded, pushed around while being stun locked, ABSOLUTELY RANDOMLY, with no way to avoid or see it coming.

Darknell was worse than a bullet hell because in bullet hells you can dodge, here its just an ejaculate of fireballs and meteors and his commanders and their attacks that you might as well kill yourself after each burst so that you can relax peacefully until the next one. Same goes for horntail, its just a cluster fuck of different status ailments combined with attack reflect, which why we have in 2025 maple is beyond me. Magnus was one of the tamer ones surprisingly, Papulatus is trash as always, got lucky with no 100%s on the clock because the geniuses who made this still let you get pushed around, key-reversed while trying to get through that phase. Vellum is just annoying, nothing to say about that.

Nobody likes it when the boss heals after you've damaged it down, being stunned for no apparent reason while bursting the boss down, being key-reversed, being pushed around by some stupid fucking gloom mini which you can't even kill unless althea cums every so often. Thankfully I'm libbed and have good boss senpaitachi so I was able to clear it quick of course, it still was incredibly frustrating to do so.

My run was a bit over 22 mins before. also hit my shoe after last run so just plain gear gains improving it too.
That with m3m4 allowed me to make it out of p1 with only bursting twice instead of having to start a third burst. Made the timing a good bit better as i was losing burst dmg due to phase change before.

People complained about ride or die 1 being too hard for early/mid game players and too easy for geared end gamers so Nexon decided to balance the playing field by removing 90% of players' gear. Literally everyone is having the same experience as you, everyone has very similar WSE and hexa and cant be carried by juiced eternals/pitch.

The people complaining that it's too hard are actually just exposing themselves for being shit at the game, change my mind.

Yes ride or die sucks, it's not fun, but it's much better than the alternatives that other regions got and what we got before (abyss afk events). This event takes like 20 minutes a week to get 750k score, gives out temp badge, fz totem, flames, sol erda, mag pots, etc. and people still complain, its actually insane.

lol they're literally poisoned by it, OSRS took a fucking decade to get ONE new skill. It's at a point where they can't realistically make any changes to the game without shoving a bunch of requested features on any poll, to the point they'vej ust stopped bothering, everything is an "integrity change" now, IE unpolled.
WoW classic is actually doing it right by NOT making too many horrific changes. But it is still making weird changes and the cadence of patches has caused lots of issues, they're clearly trying to find new ways to capitlize on the nostalgia with the novelty releases like hardcore or remix or discovery.

classic maplestory is forced to be at least slightly different by sheer virtue of legitimate old version maplestory not being a good video game
