Zombieman won't save control abyss. Abyss didn't need more help in the turn 5+ zone. Abyss needs options to staunch the bleeding and stabilize in turns 1-4.

I know it sounds weird it has draw and everything, but I don't remember bricking this often when I played roach, or midrange sword, or midrange abyss, or puppets. Those are literally all the other decks I've ever played. None of them do I remember bricking as much as I brick with rune. Not even one. And trust me I remember every single fucking match I lost due to not drawing roach.

It feels like an ADHD version of the blue/white decks in mtg.
You just have access to every tool ever with no drawbacks while other decks have tradeoffs. Meaning, highest overall card quality as well.
You are also a low variance deck because your deck cycles so much as part of its core gameplan.
Portal is fairly similar in this regard.
Those two carfts just don't seem to have a defined drawback or weakness as far as I can tell so they are fun to play.
Most other crafts are limited by their supposed identity.
Haven has the potential to be the third as it also has a wide variety of high value things that are under it's umbrella.

here's what I found out after playing each deck semi extensively
Most consistent deck: storm haven
this deck got me to sapphire and kept me there for the remainder of my wins, from which I quickly dropped out once I switched decks
Easiest to play: sword
no surprises there
Hardest to play: forest
no surprises there either
Most fun: lamp dragon
I refused to play face dragon because face dragon is a joke deck, I found ramp really fun to play, feels like playing an underdog story arc in an anime every match
highest winrate: other than haven, it was puppet portal
it's very, very powerful and easy to use, and highly favored in the meta. noah, orchis and liam solve 99% of your provlems
lowest winrate: rune

A card game that basically is determined in the first two turns is never going to be fun. The only reason people play master duel is nostalgia. Yugioh as a card game works much better as a single player experience like those Nintendo DS world tournament games rather than anything actually competitive.

Assuming perfect hand, 10PP Forest can 20-0 you. Doesn't mean they need to wait until turn 10, they can use extra PP and Super Evo Carbuncle gives 3 PP, so playing Carbuncle actually gives them 1 PP surplus. For 1 less PP they usually lose 2 damage.
The only way to prevent them doing what they want is by pressuring them early, throw out multiple Wards with >4 HP, or have a Ward with Aura.
