Good question, you can't see them killing a possessed rapture in the preview video, but the ghost does jump once after being shot for a bit so I'm assuming they failed to reach 100 shots within the 6sec and then it looks like she shoots the next possessed rapture for like 2sec before capturing it and activating her S2 since she was already at 13 ghosts
So based on that I would say it doesn't carry over between ghosts
My assumption would be that if you kill the possessed rapture the ghost probably immediately jumps to the next and you do get to retain the hit count, anything else would make no sense and could possibly make her only viable for boss fights as there'd be no way to capture ghosts on regular stages

I just don't understand how the ghosts actually work. It says it posesses a random enemy every 6 seconds, but it doesn't say that you can only capture 1 ghost from that enemy. What happens if you hit an enemy 200 times in the 6 seconds it is posessed, do you capture 2 ghosts or can you only get 1 ghost per posession? Also the math doesn't seem that impressive desu. If you are at 13 ghosts and you burst you deal 13x800% which is 10400%, but you lose 9 stacks. If you are at 13 ghosts and you capture 9 additional ghosts you deal 1100 each for a total of 9900%. It's a difference of 500% for the entire thing.

Granted you have about 2% probability for it to require that many for one copy, but it's not even remotely "unheard" of tier.
