Is this bullshit or am I just bad at the game? My best Strikers are currently Mutsuki, Yuuka (my highest levelled, at lv.7), Hasumi and Akari. For what it's worth I AM slowly realising I win more when I pair Himari with Nodoka than anyone else, even if it's hard to explain how.
Also how do you make Hoshino (Swimsuit) work? The tierlist says she's OP but she gets shredded in seconds every time I've tried to play with her.

Himari is considered good because she can nearly double ATK of someone else and that someone else can then kill enemies better. Her sub skill also makes it so resource that gets used to use EX skills generates faster.

Her EX makes an aura around her that gives ~40% ATK buff to everyone in the aura and makes it so red attack-on-red armor damage bonus goes from 200% to ~300%. If she's dying, you might want to upgrade second slot equipment (bag) to at least tier 4. At T4 @ lv40 it will give 1000 DEF which will reduce received damage by around 40%.

Fuck man, this game has an overwhelming amount of content I don't even know what to prioritize. I've just been doing VN/story stuff with the line up I rolled when I started. I've been leveling up some of my favourites and bringing them to missions just because I think they're cute. So far it's been smooth sailing but I feel I'll hit a barrier soon (3 stars are harder and harder to get).
So what am I supposed to do? Just do all the VN stuff and event recaps until I get enough resources to be able to do raids and bounties?

I've seen more than my fait share of newfags being filtered because they're either trying to follow tierlists and running some ST raid team instead of an AOE mobbing team, ignoring colors, ignoring gear / skill investment beacuse they're worried about hoarding materials or that one guy who was trying to play without a tank OR healer on his team.
That's also not hard, that's just being daft.
I think the most challenging thing campaign missions throw at you are the occasional robot planting a shield or using a flamethrower that you can CC them out of. Other than that there's not a huge amount going on there.

For target banners, either use the rentry resources in the OP or bluearchive(dot)wiki for information.
Maki's farmable with Total Assault (TA) coins, but she's a permanent addition to the base gacha pool. To confirm, you can look at the "Rate Info" button on the bottom left of the gacha window. If you're talking about Maki (Camping), her banner will probably pop up sometime in August.
Hoshino is farmable through hard nodes, but she's also in the perma gacha pool as well. If you're referencing her (Swimsuit) or (Battle) alts, then yes, they're fest exclusives. When her target banners show up next is a question mark for now, since we haven't had the 5th anni banners revealed yet.
