YES, there is/was a main Toad. He even reappeared recently in the Super Mario RPG remake where he's more obviously unique from the other red-dressed retainers, as well as the Movie. His role got diminished by Toadsworth (basically a composite of him and the Chancellor/Minister) and later Captain Toad. What's clear is that Blue/Yellow Toad are not from the Toad Brigade, and one source calls them Toad's friends; the Movie seems to want to combine Toad with Captain Toad, and we'll see if it sticks.

There is a green Yoshi who's the same character between Super Mario World, Super Mario RPG and Super Mario 64, and it's presumably the same one in most appearances. The ending of Yoshi's Island DS implies that this Yoshi is separate from the one in the games with Baby Mario.

Kamek is the same Kamek in the Yoshi games. His apprentices, the Toadies, graduate into Magikoopas (aka Kameks) in later Mario games, including Wizakoopa.

Modern DK is Cranky's grandson except in the Movieverse where he's said to be his father; the whole "father/son" confusion didn't exist in DK64's Japanese localization, and always a paternal figure regardless. The events of Arcade Donkey Kong were foundational to New Donk City as it says in Odyssey, while the traumatic kidnapping Pauline recalls in Mario Odyssey is what happens in Game Boy Donkey Kong.
All of this also irons out why Tiny Kong is significantly older in spin-offs than in DK64, why Mario hasn't aged at all since supposedly fighting Cranky Kong (it's not Mario that Cranky fought), why Mario was a villain once (that wasn't him but Jumpman), and why we see both DK and DK Jr. in Mario Tennis 64 even though it had already been established that Arcade DK was Cranky Kong.

They should introduce some new mario brothers for the other colours, if you like red you've got mario, green luigu, yellow wario, purple waluigi, but what if your favourite colour is blue? They need to add Bario who is blue, Oruigi who is orange, and Pirio who is pink.Or maybe they could put in the lost brothers from the lost levels, Iolui, Uigiy and Ariol, who are pretty close to the missing colours.

In the new Antdude video he referred to an official dock for Switch 2 that is sold separately which has "extra features". What is he talking about?
