It's their biggest DLC so far by quite a bit so depends on what you thought about the other DLCs and their pricing.

From what it seems like, it's because the first part is mostly exploration, quests, horde and normal battles, with only two boss fights while the second part is gonna be less all that and more boss fights.
Also they're able to fly freely in the second and third demon realm so I guess they thought it was a big enough change to split it into.

Does it bother anyone else that the only character in Sparking Zero that gets a unique explosion for their ultimate is Super Saiyan young Gohan? It really bothers me that the same set of VFX get used for the rest. Like, attacks like SS2 Goku's look wonderful, but then the explosion from Gogeta blue's kamehameha and beast Gohan's special beam canon are the same size as Goku mid's spirit bomb and it's weird as hell.

It also doesn't help that there's only one stage destruction cutscene for Namek, and doubly so that it isn't a huge explosion like it is in literally every other DB game with the feature, but instead is just a seamless transition to Namek's destroyed stage. It's pretty and new for DB games, but not being able to see the huge explosion you caused from orbit really takes away the impact

A more pragmatic outlook would be: "they tried to not catch up with the manga at all costs which lead to terrible fillers, especially in Z".
For every filler that might seem decent (not great, decent) like the driving episode or maybe even Garlic Jr, you get 20 shitty ones and 20 episodes worth of added content in the middle of actual canon stuff that you came here for. And the former can mostly be ignored (still bad), but the latter isn't just a downgrade, it's straight up butchering the original work. It's making the tone feel dumber and childish, the character act like caricatures of themselves. And I haven't even brought up the horrible pacing, the butchered fight choreography, the horrible artwork 90% of the time.

I can vibe with some of these filler arcs, the great OP/EDs, some really cool additions, but that makes it an okay addition to the manga if you select the episode you're watching very carefully so it's not one of the bad ones. The Dragon Ball Z anime doesn't stand on its own, it could be argued the DB one does but it's still a hard sell.

Both DB/DBZ and OP are relatively faithful adaptations, this is true, certainly compared to the old standard when very few manga long runners actually got their adaptation to the end without major divergences. But this doesn't change the fact their both simply bad anime carried primarily by their source material full of QUALITY moments and awful pacing (which can only partially be remedied via re-edits like Kai and FI special edition).

Strictly adhering to a very specific set of assumptions and headcanons even when they contradict things actually presented in official material and refusing to deviate from such things. Just look at how badly it mangles ideas in the specials featuring Future Trunks' timeline.
