Not really sure what pointers you'd be looking for, but here's a list of the biggest bricks I probably wouldn't bother investing anything into if you can avoid it.
I'm sure people will argue over some of them sMoe, Renge, Momiji and Kasumi are usually pretty poor but with no sHanako you might find some use for them.
Likewise Hina might not be useful enough anymore.
Some of the remaining things like Kayoko / Akane / Hifumi are niche and not something you want to be blanket investing in, but they do have uses.

Not sure exactly what feedback you're wanting, but hopefully the inevitable nitpicking over this might get you some insights.

You generally invest in students as you need them for raids.
If you're still leveling, just use what you need to to get by. If you're getting walled by something then say what, why and what you have and you might get specifics if you're just neglecting something that would easily help.

There isn't much generic advice you'll get since leveling things without needing them is generally a daft idea and what you need early game is going to vary massively based on what you pull. Having a single sHanako makes it so you can slack on a lot of characters compared to an account without one etc.

There's one tight overlap in P2 but with even non-tYuuka rotations I think you aim to stun him out of his wave cast, which makes it a non-issue.
Even if you don't stun him out of the wave you can still either top the heater fast enough and / or just max tYuukas shield out before it hits and you're fine.

He simply doesn't do enough damage for it to be an issue until you hit torment. Does feel like a bit of a dick move since it's clearly motivated by cockblocking Kokona and tYuuka on the higher difficulties so you use the idols, but tYuuka feels completely safe on insane even at 3-4*.

Kisaki could be swapped with Yuzu but I think just spamming through cheap EX's to get back to sHanako probably does more.

sHanako is busted enough you could frankly sacrifice a dps to run Kokona and Serina on any of the teams and just use their cheap EX's to cycle more sHanako's out. Tanks are also more or less completely interchangeable, their damage type doesn't matter nor does their armor type since mission mobs don't do type damage.

Just take it with a grain of salt, though it's probably the case that MORE units are useful than less.
When I was new students like Akari for (relatively) cheap red AOE were useful, but I suspect she's redundant with sHanako and Iroha, both of which are strong enough to hard carry a lot of campaign.

At some point you'll need to start using 2 teams, you can generally get by using the same tank and healer pairing regardless of colour - you'll just need to fill out your dps sections, but you have a lot more useful students than I circled so you'll be fine.
Just make sure you spread out your hard carries (like sHanako in one team and Iroha in the other) and having to use a few more filler students. One team will also face the end of mission boss which will benefit from being slanted towards a bit more single target etc.
