there's a gotcha with hellfires that I've never seen mentioned anywhere, by anyone. the aiming laser has two stages. the first stage turns on when you lock IRST onto the target and launch, turning on the laser. At this point the laser is diffuse and simply brackets the tank and your missile is likely to miss entirely. When you switch your lock-on mode to the one with the circle for precision aiming the beam attenuates dramatically and your missile will hit what you are pointing at.

The FIRST bullet in a belt determines the velocity of all the bullets in the belt.
So if the first bullet is a tracer and goes at 800m/s everything else will go at the same velocity.
If another belt has the first bullet as a HE that goes at 980m/s, even a tracer in the belt will go at 980m/s

It was a terrible plane in both avionics and flight performance, the then brand new J-10 was put in a joint exercise against J11s and not only the J-10 won, one J-10 managed to beat four (4) J11s in a dogfight at the same time.

The M1s have always been formidable tanks in the hands of capable players, just not very beginner friendly. Players that have multiple trees ground out to top tier perform far above average. US top tier was unpopular with them for two reasons:
- It's been a long time since the US got some fancy new hot shit to draw them there. Last thing I can think about is the F-16C, and that was in late 2023
- top tier US is extremely popular with fudds that grew up on gulf war propaganda, the top tier equivalent of history channel Tiger players.
