i just noticed the ip counter is still busted, homebrews for this feel?
Dusted off my Switch for the first time in ages and was surprised at how shitty it looked in docked mode, way worse than I remembered. Turns out it was my TV's sharpness setting, something with the postprocessing filter it adds on top of the dynamic resolution switching turned it into a shitty mess whenever it happened, looks much better after I turned that down to 0.
Well, obviously Switch game graphics aren't going to be winning any rewards either way but thought it worth mentioning if anyone had a similar experience...

Does anyone know if Donkey Kong Bananza comes with on cart firmware?
Want to play it but dont want to update past 20.1.1.
And also does the day 1 patch do anything important or can I just skip it?
>>531756512>Does anyone know if Donkey Kong Bananza comes with on cart firmware? No news yet on this. AFAIK there's no way to dump Switch 2 carts right now
>Want to play it but dont want to update past 20.1.1. You can try inserting it and ignoring prompts to update the software. If it shows a Launch Software button you can play it just fine.
>And also does the day 1 patch do anything important or can I just skip it?Do you mean the Switch fw day one update? If so then it's basically a must to enable the console for use. Without it you can't do much but open the album or settings.
As for the SD card patch, You can use regular SD cards only to transfer media from your Switch 1, the Switch 2 will not use them otherwise. For games, you must use the new SD Express cards.
In either case, FAT32 SD cards work without an update. But if you use an exFAT card, the Switch will prompt you for an update before it can read it. This is not a firmware update, it's only exFAT drivers/licenses/whatnot. However, if your system is not on the latest FW, it will also do a FW update.
>>531758846There's a day 1 patch for dk. The notes are vague though.

nothing will happen if i transfer my legit sysnand switch 1 stuff over to switch 2, will it? i'd have it booted without cfw of course
Dumb question but I'm mainly just double checking.
I want the hbmenu icon on my switch menu on emu so I'm using this nsp + override: https://github.com/Lesking72/HBMenu-Forwarder
I know installing the nsp on my emu won't affect the sys, but will the override set up on my atmosphere config fuck with my sys? I would assume it doesn't but I'm just checking since I'm still unbanned on my switch and I don't want to do anything unknowingly stupid to fuck that up. Thanks.
>>531773314essentially you just take the same precautions you would to not get banned on switch 1, so yeah only transfer your clean nand
>>531774936i don't see why it would, in general atmosphere stuff is not enabled unless you also enable atmosphere itself (so you boot into a nand, whether it sys or emu, with cfw enable), but that mostly means you risky your custom theme showing up on sys if you're not careful, i don't remember anything else doing that
>>531775294I've been running cfw and a theme on my sys for years with no ban. But this override config is new. Logically it should matter because the override is for a title that doesn't exist on my sys and even then title override doesn't cause bans to my knowledge. It's how most people access the hb menu without using the photo album. Like I said it's a stupid question. I think I'm ok.
>>531775741>Logically it should matter because the override is for a title that doesn't exist on my sysye but i'd assume it not existing wouldn't have atmosphere throw out errors that can be found by nintendo and/or are registered in the official logs, which is the actual thing that gets you banned. I'd assume whatever issue may arise from that would just stay on your sd card and not expose you, so yeah i think you're fine too
>>531776076Even when the title isn't there it doesn't throw an error code. Because I set up the config and then installed the nsp. So yeah.
>>531775294>essentially you just take the same precautions you would to not get banned on switch 1, so yeah only transfer your clean nandthat's what i figured, i just wanted to make sure. thanks

If i go to japan (again) and buy a used 3ds there, then take it back home to New Zealand, can i hack it to change the language, compatible games and everything?
I already have a hacked 3ds if something needs to happen with mario kart injecting.
>>531840417yes, even more reasons to do it since they closed down 3DS' servers (doing it before could've locked you out the eshop)
>>531840417You can do it easily and I am pretty certain you no longer need the Mario Kart shit any more. As long as you follow that site you can easily do it

You can still boot older firmware after the fuses are burned as long as you're booting it with atmosphere.
>>531919207But sleep mode won't work, right? When I update sysMMC before emuMMC, I get an error (before updating) that sleep mode won't work because it doesn't match warmboot (whatever that means).
>>531919407I figured atmosphere would bypass that but maybe not. But yes the fuse count is checked when waking from sleep and if it's lower than the firmware expects it panics
I've never encountered that message but my emummc has always been higher than sysmmc since I don't pay for online

>>531940635>got stolen recently. So (sand?)niggers got to his place. Damn.
So I assuming I install shit on my SysNAND what are the odds of me getting banned if I hop on eShop to buy download stuff on there?
>>531946443depends on what shit you're installing
most people from what I remember reading use syscfw for transferring saves, themes, maybe mods for single player games or stuff like that, and they've yet to be banned. I'm not guaranteeing anything though so be sure to check for yourself. On the other hand if you blatantly cheat online or go online with pirated games, expect a ban soon.
As someone mentioned last thread:
>Also keep in mind that bans don't happen instantaneously, Nintendo flags accounts and then does them in waves which makes it a lot harder for people to tell immediately what will and won't get you banned.
>>531949552Installed Wonder in the CFW sysNAND but for some reason it also installed it on the stock? Not sure why, but yeah.
>>531949795sysnand stock and sysnand cfw share the same stuff, it's all on your console. Booting into sys cfw only means you "turned on" atmosphere and homebrew for sysnand and you can do anything on it, including installing pirated games. However, you installed it to your system's files, instead of using an emunand, where all pirated shit should go (if you care about not getting banned).
If you plan on not getting banned, I'd suggest you restore a nand backup from before hax, and then use emunand only for installing pirated games
>>531949795Yeah you're going to be banned. Installing any NSPs in sysmmc and going online is a guaranteed ban.
You're supposed to have an emummc for that.
>>531950706Makes sense. Yeah, I haven't hopped online anyways so nothing lost, just means I will need to use my older OLED for online shit.
>>531950454I was holding off on an emuNAND for a while cause my library IRL is fat, so I wanted to have everything in order, but I guess it's fine. I have the backup, but not sure if it works like that or not? Does it?
piratefag that just bought a switch 2 US version. If I insert a Japanese cart, like DK Bonanza, will it be in Japanese or is it based on console region?
>>531951505The backup is only good if you didn't go online since taking it
I got a Wii U yesterday. It needs a good polishing. I have Aroma installed and Nusspli doing it's thing.
Anything essential needed?
Would there be a reason installing DLC in the sysNAND cause the game to not boot up under the premise of corruption? It's on Airplane mode.
Is there's a way to remedy this?
>>531975649It says microSD corrupted, but the games boot up fine on custom firmware.

>>531968309>Anything essential needed?Phone number for a an exterminator close to your place.
>>531936752those games can be run on a switch 1, so they can be dumped. Like the switch 2 edition of breath of the wild can run on switch 1 just fine, obviously it won't fire the switch 2 update patch but the patch is still there on the cartridge, so the cartridge can be dumped
>>531981715NTA but I think the issue is that the S2 stuff is encrypted, so dumps are useless until someone finds a way to decrypt them. I think there were even a few posts in previous threads that mentioned dumping stuff from S2, but there was no way to use them because of that (also those posts could just be bullshit, so take them as you will).

>>532038303Well, I have a non-hacked switch with everything legit on it's microSD, would I be able to just move that stuff onto my sysNAND of my hacked switch in case I want to keep the legit files since my stuff I tried to change got all squirrely?
Is it safe to launch CFW on my sysMMC (online or offline), hold R while launching a game to open the homebrew menu, and use Checkpoint to backup my save file?
>>532047580backup yeah, restoring a backup though might be dangerous depending on the game. Definitively avoid those with major online components (ie splatoon), single player games should be safe
>>532048450So just having CFW on by itself won't trigger anything from Nintendo unless I do something obvious with it?
>>532048547exactly, and more specifically the major trigger is installing pirated games. If you do that on the mmc you go online with then you're done, sooner or later (the bans happen in waves), save editing might also put you at risk but again it depends on the game
just running cfw by itself or using some homebrews should be fine
>>532048782I'm not using the HATS pack, so I don't have "semi-stock" as they call it, I would be using the full fat CFW (without blocking the serial number, etc.). This is fine? Sorry I'm just kind of worried since I play online on my sysMMC.
>>532048989don't use packs, you don't/can't know what you're installing to your system. Follow the guide in the OP instead, and once you're familiar with what you're doing, all you need to do is
>>531754878 to keep your base cfw system updated. Beyond that search up tools depending on what you plan on doing.
To play online safely on sys with cfw, just don't do anything obvious like installing pirated games, setting porn as your profile pic, cheating online, etc. This is not a guarantee though
>>532049627 (me)
forgot to mention don't install sigpatches to your syscfw either as they're only used for piracy
>>532048989that stuff MIGHT help but it doesn't change what they ban you for, it changes whether nintendo knows it's you. Basically, the reason why they ban you, so far, still just is pirating games and other online related stuff (editing save games, even changing your profile pic to something that isn't amongst the available avatars, etc), blanking the serial number and whatever is just added protection in a "delay the inevitable" way cause once they got you they got you. Hell in a way that stuff is also effectively banning yourself, as you can't connect online if you blank your info in the first place
>>532049873I thought sigpatches were automatically installed on both MMCs. I just followed the instructions to install them on Atmosphere, I figured it would work whenever Atmosphere loaded (such as sysMMC CFW). Now I'm not sure if I have it on both or just one.
>>532057692actually I think you're right, since the files are on the sd no matter if it's sys or emu

>>532194610don't worry I'll bump in my dreams
Updated all my switch game from shops with tinfoil.
>>532214984The update section doesn't pop up for me despite knowing that there's updates for my games...
>>532068507I know, right? Is there some other place I can get NSFW themes?
is "switch thinks the joycons are removed but actually aren't" a solved issue or do i have to take them apart and trial and error swapping shit? The actual hardware connection works fine, joycons don't physically detach when they shouldn't but the software thinks they do if i move them a little weird (which happens somewhat often in handheld mode, by virtue of holding the thing by the joycons themselves)
>>531981994what are the chances the patches get figured out before the switch 2 is hacked? Given they technically can be accessed via an hacked switch 1 or whatever?
this will be the hackable switch 2
>>532224417I didn't know only underage kids like erotic stuffs. That's crazy. I should write that down.
>>532266554cringe fun, toilet humor and porn is strictly for kids, us adults can only enjoy official themes
that said i still wouldn't put porn or ecchi stuff as a theme or background image
>>532278310Does Nintendo even do official themes anymore? Switch and 2 are stuck with just light or dark. Missed opportunity getting a theme or two with each game.
>>532279149themehax was a thing in 3DS, so I wouldn't be surprised if at least part of the reason for the Switch having no themes is to prevent that lmao
>no themes
>no web browser
>no integrated camera
>no pictochat
what is the switch good for at this point
>>532072112this is true freedom
fuck the kike west
>>532288394is it really that good?
>>532264783idk it's not really a mainline pokรฉmon game
>>532300485There was a whole argument about that around Legends Arceus, because of how they mentioned it in Japan (they used a term that they use for mainline games instead of spinoffs)
Also, pokefags will flock to it because it's the first relevant game since the last DLC for SV came out in December 2023 kek
>>532303472>it's the first relevant game since [...] December 2023 kekF-Zero bros...
>>532304971GX in HD came out a month ago.
>>532307249GX came out 22 years ago.
>b-b-but hd...Dolphin had this over a decade ago.
>>532307989You arready have Bing Bing Kaato Warudo. Now buy more Switchu Tsu and Onrine Passu!
Do you remember 10-15 years who there was that 3DS porn that you could view in 3D circulating the Web? A lot of those links are dead. They're all puu.sh links for some reason. Does anyone have any of those saved?
>>532342781sounds weird, but i am interested
>>532342781Was it the ones where you scan the QR codes and then get nudies for it? Those were funny.
Someone on Twitter used to post a bunch of that stuff. Dunno if the author took down the account or they got banned because I can't find any nowadays.
Should I use VC injection or open_agb_firm for playing GBA games on New 3DS? and does anyone know if ghost eshop is good for downloading DS games onto New 3DS? I heard people say the roms they use are shit.
>>532370348>Should I use VC injection or open_agb_firm for playing GBA games on New 3DS?open_agb_firm
idk about the rest
>>532370348VC injection provides no benefits over open_agb_firm (savestates, scaling or else), other than an icon on the menu, the 3DS even silently reboots into gba mode to launch them.
Finally going to hack my New 3DS. What should I do after installing CFW?
>>532420375playing videogames
>>532420375Don't listen to
>>532420548 we don't do that around here.
After hax you install kickass hombrews, picross, and then never touch the console again
>>532420682drats, foiled again
>>532420682>and then never touch the console againUntil there's an update for the kickass homebrew, that is, where you dust it off and updoot everything.
>>532422940>9 years agowhere did time go
>>532427479you made me realize 9 years ago is when i first started lurking this general, damn
