The reason this happens sometimes is the game didnt properly apply the red dot aggro like its supposed to. You can see he jsut swaps targets too much for this attack to work, so they probably added the red dot aggro specifically to do with that. I'd bet you were all far away from him when he went to mark? Or maybe you staggered after he marked but before he dashed and it wore off?

I ended up lowering the stats of Kusabimaru through smithbox, it had some crazy high AR at +10 80 dex like fuckin 730 or some bullshit like that, i got it down to 458 at 80 dex, removed the bleed and upped the crit from 120 to 150. you guys think i should up the crit more, or up the AR? it honestly doesn't take me that much effort to kill shit, but i'd like the criticals to feel more impactful during bosses

The real issue I see in this clip is being able to parry the ground stomp. A lot of Sekiro combat relied on having to switch up and find which of your defensive tool to use to best dodge/optimize damage.

The basic Oracle Bubble spell is actually amazing in Nightreign.

the most natural it's felt has been with dagger mainhand and slicer/piercer staff offhand. trying to use any ranged sorceries doesn't work for mixups because the casting animation doesn't blend well with anything else, and most sorcery casting animations have a lot more ending lag than you'd expect which adds a huge delay to your dodge

My experience is being smart and good at Elden Ring and great at Roguelites. That's my experience.
