Actually, I feel like there's some mixed messages on Yoshi's Island as a series being canon. You get interviews for Mario 64 where Miyamoto still talks about Mario being from Brooklyn, and there's interviews where Miyamoto says that while they consider the first Yoshi's Island a core Mario game that every game after it is it's own thing.

Sad reality is that when the hype dies down in a couple of weeks and people are down with DK:B, there are basically no new games on the horizon for Switch 2. Gotta say, while I like the Bananza transformations replacing the animal friends/barrels, I don't really like the designs. I think they should've taken more cues from Rare. Imagine if Kong Bananza looked more like Rare's DK design? It would've been the perfect send-off. Have Snake look more like Rattly, etc.
(Also not a fan of the pants-wearing Kritters, they look too bulky. DK64 had the perfect Kritter design that looks intimidating but still obviously grunts, it's too bad they're stuck in crappy blocky N64 graphics.)

Arcade DK dealt with all of the arcade appearances, along with Cranky being the Arcade DK Jr.

I saw what I saw and I chose not to go to theaters
I saw spoilers online and I still didn't care for it
Nothing I saw made me laugh or smile and I don't care for cheap references
I did not pop bottles of champagne when it grossed a crap ton of money because celebrating one faceless billion dollar corporation trouncing another is fucking stupid
