You can stick people to ceilings like a piñata with your ult, if you put a wall on top. Especially useful on the new klyntar map. You can block CC ults like Jeff and Strange with walls. Some tanks can block thing ults by jumping and holding shield down at the same time, so maybe he can block of that ult with walls although I haven’t tested it. He is one of the few tanks that can contest space on the buildings in that one F4 map on top. If you can, get some one to combo with your ult

This is a bit of a twofold issue, one part is that designing Tanks can be a little tricky sometimes they just focus on making a meatshield which while effective at keeping others alive is dull as fuck for most people, making them too good at offence and suddenly the DPS feel invalidated depending the balance of weakness, they are tricky to get right in terms of being fun and effective without being overbearing, this is also somewhat of a mentally challenging role to play, in hero shooters you need to have good situational awareness and positioning which can be somewhat of a hill for people to climb, the second part of perceptions, people tend to think of Tanks as just meatshields who eat damage, and thus this is unappealing, its a wrong perception but you can't help some people

Imo the biggest problem is that the impact of tanks is kinda hidden. DPS gets KOs. Healers keep team alive. Tanks soak up the damage but they are kinda thankless heroes since the impact of their sponging is hard to see for most people (who are retards). This is why it's mostly an undesirable role. Besides, unlike supports, tanks have to fight on the frontlines. Most support players play support because they don't want to get into the thick of it.

Tank has always been the least popular role in MMOs even as far back as WoW and DPS is usually the most popular (followed by support) and that reflects in the character selection too because most people want to run around and "get kills" instead of be a meatshield, draw aggro, basically be defacto QB.

Problem with shit dps is they usually focus tank (which is exactly what the tank wants) and don't go for the supports that are pocketing the tank or they play in weak/baby positions on low ground huddling with their team allowing for a GGEZ enemy Phoenix nuke ult instead of high ground and angles.

And the problem with bad supports is crumbling at the first thing that challenges their autopilot healbot flow without knowing how to escape or defend themselves with cooldowns (stun/sleep anyone that dives you and stick with your team instead of crashing out over shitty Iron Fist).

And of course tanks can be bad too if they do any of these previous things or worse like feed with their giant health pool, which is the biggest problem since there are so few of them and they are a critical role, the easiest to carry on if they're good but also the hardest to carry if they're shit.

I don't know a lot of pvp TPS games and the few I can think of always had some wonky aiming mechanics to get used to. Gears of War comes to mind for the most egregious mechanics.
I generally don't play hitscan heroes either because lots of other online shooters use projectile mechanics. So I'm always aiming ahead of where the target is anyway.

The hardest part about playing tank is knowing when you have to play like a bitch because the healers are shitting their pants. Tanking in this game feels ass because you can't do it without a healer. So I spend a lot of my time humping corners and checking what the healers are doing before I push in. I think you should be doing the opposite. Go invis to setup the flank (when you know where they are, don't ever just randomly invis), then start shooting the backline when they're busy healing. Timing is important when flanking, meaning you want them to be busy before you hit them (this is your tank's job on the frontline) otherwise they will all be free to look and shoot at you. You have two dashes, save one to help confirm a kill and another to get out if needed.

I think it's cool in theory but in practice it's just been a massive headache. There's absolutely no consistent design to them at all. There are ones like gamma or phoenix force where they just make something a character already do just massively better. There are ones that are fucking detrimental to your character like torch and spidey. There are ones that require you to use a bunch of team work and coordination like fastball. Some of them are just fucking broken strong to the point they enable entire comps like rez while others are so bad you forget they even exist. Sometimes they put them on characters who make a horrid team comp together.

All of this to further incentivize or de-incentivize playing certain characters. Then there's the whole retardation with anchor bonuses making or breaking characters and inevitably breaking characters when they lose them.

Duelist are and have remained the biggest problem with this game. They're cancerous, entitled, and often shittiest players on your team. They instalock DPS because they overvalue themselves, and see only kills not realizing strategy and proper teamwork is equally important. Instalock Duelists are the least likely to switch, both out of inability to flex required roles and equal parts stubbornness. To them, everyone else is the problem. While DPS is a part of success, it is the simplest role to learn and yet not often executed to win. For a DPS main doesn't play what the match needs to win, they simply play their main character, and to hell with anyone who says otherwise. The irony is that most of these people would do better as tanks given their mentality. That's why Ultron and Emma were added in the first place, to force Duelist players to actually fucking switch it up. Why else do you think we've been getting the team up metas we've gotten lately? Because the devs are actively trying to teach these shitters to learn the game.

While I enjoy tanking and healing, having no issue filling those roles, I don't want to feel like I HAVE to, not to mention be put in matches where my DPS is just trash thus making the other two roles somewhat pointless. I have played way too many games where I'm playing Thing, Strange, or Emma, with DPS not taking advantage of pressure in favor of just kill chasing some asshole off to the side. When the backline is getting dived, some healers have to fend for themselves, or tanks have to drop everything and run all he way back to help them. It's insane. And do you know how many times I've played Strange for the sake of a Scarlet Witch who can't fucking kill anything even with that broken team-up? As a result I find myself completely amateur at Duelist, rarely playing it due to others instalocking and other part me not feeling confident what with the pressure involved. I question how many 3rd Duelists are tanks/healers fed up with crap DPS, forcing the others to change?

That's kinda why I gravitate towards Namor, Scarlet Witch, and Mister Fantastic. With them I can help out the frontline tanks. I'd play Moon Knight, but everyone is wise to his tricks and rarely can he seem to kill unless the enemy is shoulder to shoulder. Squirrel Girl is a crapshoot. I gave Psylocke a try, which she plays somewhat flank/dive but can also be good for peeling. I don't like playing Iron Man or Johnny because I feel like a sitting duck in the sky, but then again I'd have to train myself to stay close to the ground and behind the tanks
