When the week starts, new tasks (boxes in the landsraad window) are revealed every X hours. You need to be in a guild enlisted with one of the two great houses to participate. Each task is a race where the faction that reaches 70k first wins the box (which becomes red or green once claimed).

If a box is unclaimed (not red or green) completing the first 1-5 levels of a task and/or reaching 70k points, awards voting power that can be used to vote on one of the tree bonuses at the end of the week.

You can participate as solo. All you need is to create a one man guild and enlist for one of the two great houses available. It's extremely grindy and you are unlikely to claim an entire box alone before a large guild does. But if your aim is to get the 1-5 rewards it's doable, considering that a recent update allows to unlock the reward even after a task has been completed. Some tasks are downright impossible for a solo, like those who require you to hold a control point for days or turn in T6 materials.

You can do all of them, even the ones that are "completed" by factions. You'll get an update on your left when you do something that's award points like killing a certain flavor of mook

Almost all of them can be easily soloed for the 10500 T6 unique level reward. You can keep going for swatches, but all the color schemes are pretty ass for me so only snipe the colors you like

The melange and vehicle turn ins seems pretty rough unless the reward is really worth it, but easier ones like turning in X opafire gems or medkits you can knock out within an hour for no effort. The hardest one of those I've done so far was 7 Omni Static Compactors, which wasn't bad except the melange it wanted. Kill 456 X Enemy Type are a pain in the ass but can be knocked out in two to three hours as long as they aren't DD enemies or Atredies/Harko since they're much rarer. I knocked out five Landsraad goals myself this session as a solo in the losing faction playing a couple hours each day

You turn in the items to your quartermaster at your Hagga faction base, not the representatives, and I recommend turning in one with the rest in your vehicle safely to start so you can see the real point value per item. 10500 is the magic number to hit for the good stuff. You collect the rewards from the representatives themselves

Absolutely not, even if they weren't PvPcringe zones, the time spent per point is atrocious. Compare oneshotting a single hagga mook for 23pts to sitting on your ass at a control point for 10pt per minute. Napkin math says you'd be there for seventeen hours to reach 10500 before any losing faction bonuses buffs factored in

just fyi, shit is still disappearing from backpacks and ornithopter storage when hauling shit out of the DD. seems to be happening when it's peak time for the server on the last day. i personally had about 600 spice disappear from my pack, and my buddies lost similar cobalt/dura and some other misc shit. advising not to haul your shit out on the last day during prime time when everyone else is doing it. i've hauled out in the early am just before wipe and no problems.

Then you dont get a dash consumption bonus you just negate it for half a heavy's extra defense. I run pure melee full light on 4 uniques with Shigawire claw/ Crippling Strike(or weirding step for pve)/ Knee Charge and Manipulated Instability/**thrive on danger**/Trauma Recovery and im pretty hard to kill. I use a revolver (Cope) for a sidearm when I can take a few npc spread aparts with single head shots. Will probably get a drillshot and a RPG for pvp.

You get either 8 or 9 dashes with light armor and stim leggings. There might be some other pieces that can push it to 9 or 10. In practice it's a little lower than this as your stamina will be drained by your attacks, probably dropping it by 1-2 dashes effectively.

In PVP your actual healthbar is your stamina bar, as shields are good enough to tank any damage you receive that you can't dodge out of, so you're virtually never taking actual hp damage until the stamina is 0 and even if you do it's easy to get into cover with some dodges/abilities and 1 button heal with bandages or kits in 3 seconds (even while being shot).

From a balance perspective the game is a hot fucking mess. Healing in combat shouldn't even be a thing but it's so commonplace and expected in shooters that nobody ever thinks of just not letting players do that. Makes it way too easy to disengage from a fight, heal to full, and re-engage and drags out a lot of fights for minutes as neither player can get any decisive hits in. If I were designing this game's PVP system there wouldn't be any way to heal in combat at all - no faster healing skills, no healthkits in fights. It just drags it out and makes it feel retarded.

Would be nice if the rooms were changed so that you didn't have to complete the last room to get to the loot, only to exit the lab. I've seen people run out of the loot room when the loot hasn't respawned and they know we're about to finish the last room. It's pretty annoying that all they have to do to leave is to grab the ID band. They should be stuck in the final room until all the enemies are dead. That would probably discourage logging out.

If you are certain they'll stay open and you aren't at risk of losing the buggy/laser to PVP, god yes. You'll almost double your harvest amount and very rapidly break even. The game's got great bones desu, and combat isn't as bad as people make it out to be. on foot and with equally skilled/geared players, it feels cerebral and strategic in a way only a high ttk game with 3 seperate heath bars does, with lots of decisions and trade offs (do I go for the disruptor for their shields? Do I crippling strike/disrupter belt then weirding strike/shigawire to bait the 2x dodge to drain their stam? Do I take the drillshot out? No, he's got a shotgun for when my shields go down when I fire, etc. etc.)

But after a while you realize there's nothing really to fight for, once you're past resource scarcity.
But I guess this is standard for MMOs. WoW classic lacked an endgame or proper pvp incentives for a long-ass time.

On the PVE end, I think they're really missing an opportunity by not having thralls / npc hireables for your base. It could be a great progression and or quest reward / rare captureable type thing. let's not forget they're using blueprints for spawning all the characters and npc's in the world, which has huge overhead issues that heavily impact server performance, complicate zone transitions and instancing (hey I wonder why they can't do instances for those story quests), and makes it much more difficult to set up proper versioning on the backend.

This game is coded (and led) by amateurs. I don't think anyone actually making shit work has more than 1-2 years hands on experience. If they do, the game sure doesn't look or act like they do. I would bet all the guys who've been in the company for 20+ years are in do-nothing idea guy jobs like "project manager" and all of their ability has atrophied away while 19 year old favela monkeys on bottom dollar wages do the bulk of the actual work.

Everything points to a dysfunctional poorly run company of dumbfucks. The place is most likely held together by a handful of competent white guys who have no internal political power and have to constantly fix all the fuckups from the farmed out work and dumbass management.

It really depends on your server t b h. Most guilds camp stations/big spice and loot goblin camp wrecks. If you get shot in the middle of a empty desert in the I row you just got super unlucky. People haul back their weekly base during Sunday so Sunday midnight to monday is a good time to go spice hunt in tranquility too.

Make a medium chemical ore than the medium spice refiner. Dont bother crafting anything T6 until that. Not even an advance fabricator.

The survival mechanics get an honorable mention because they feel like an intelligent person came up with them to start with, and then some moron came in with a wrecking ball to destroy any challenge or intelligence in the original design.

There is nothing else driving player engagement, neither survival mechanics nor PVP. The simple litmus test is thus: If you had every resource in the game already, what would you do for fun?

You have doing quests, building your base, and wandering around staring at the environment.
The lack of survival pressure - water, heat, worms, NPC's, PVP, weather, etc. ensures that there's no actual reason for you to do anything with any of the resources in the game. There is nothing FUN to do once you realize the core gameplay loop that's supposed to entertain you for thousands of hours is just mining a fucking rock on repeat with some window dressing on top.
